Hi,
I made a mistake and removed something to do with voice to text recognition without making a backup on my s2. I did manage to get it back however its completely different. When I click on the mic icon while messaging it now shows a mic that says "listening" and then "Thinking". I dont know what I did but previously I got wave pattern when i spoke and then text.
can I format and get all my apps back to normal? along with social hub, im
flash another rom?
I would apreciate your help. I tried flashing the stock rom but that dint help.
I'm using ICSLunar 2.4.6a and I found a very HUGE problem ( For me...)
I can't change input methods, Once I check my desired keyboard, and for about two seconds it automatically uncheck itself !!!!???
How on earth can I change to the keyboard I want.
I tried several methods to change the keyboard but none of them worked....
Does anyone using this rom have this problem????? How to fix ?
hmm. i have had this problem. try to reboot and you will get your keyboard..

Make sure it's not installed on the SD Card...
I had the same problem in 2.6.1, after several reinstalls I found that the problem begins after install link2sd with linked sd-ext. And its not only in keyboard changing, but also in a system settings.
Hi
I recently installed Touchpal Dialer to replace the Android Stock Dialer (Phone). I then used Titanium Backup to uninstall the stock dialer. (I only select Phone and pressed 'Uninstall'). However in the process of uninstall, something crashed (some process stopped working) and I was stuck on Force Close (which repeatedly pops up).
So to return to Android I rebooted. However the phone can no longer detect the the SIM card (and hence the network). I tried to access Settings>Call, but I get the error "The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly".
My first thought was to restore Phone using Titanium Backup, but this seemed to be stuck (or at least it was taking excessively long >20min).
Then I reinstalled the rom but that doesn't affect the files required to detect the sim card.
How do I fix this and get my phone to be able to dial again?
Any and all help is much appreciated.

If there was a point in time when everything was working and then one change was made, the stock dialer was removed, then things stopped working, the solution would be to revert back to the working point in time.
Curious, what guide suggested the removal of the stock dialer?
As a side note, before removing files it is always best to either make a complete backup, nandroid, or to at least backup the specific file being removed so it can be quickly and easily replaced.
The main issue here seems to be the removal of the stock dialer. On the technical side of things, the dialer is a very integrated component of Android.
In AOSP, which all ROMs to some degree are based off, the dialer apk file contains not only the dialer but also browsing of contacts and links in on the back end with a few files.
Once you restore the Dialer, I think called phone.apk or something similar, the issues should go away such as FC. If there are issues accessing the SIM card after restoring the previously removed file, off the top of my head, my best guess would be to clear out the settings stored on the data partition. A setting could have been created during the dialer removed state which might prevent the system from restoring proper SIM access.
Hope that adds a bit more detail around the standard process of removing files and making adjustments!
Cheers thanks, much appreciated.
Largely the guide of my ignorance that decided to remove the stock dialer. It's only in the last half hour or so that I've just come by a guide that specifically says to *not* remove the stock dialer. In the first instance I thought it wouldn't be such a big deal as Titanium Backup could always restore it ... in which it turned out it couldn't.
So after all's said and done, is there a way (apart from Ti Backup) to restore just the stock dialer phone.apk (say by download or other)?
Another approach I'm considering is to find a way to flash a custom / stock ROM to fix this. However as my phone is unbranded and on HBOOT 1.49.0018, I'm finding this very difficult with the standard methods posted. On the other hand, ideas are starting to run out and desperation running high!

I have had this happen to me a few times, this mostly happens when you apply a mod/tweak to a rom that is not compatible. Do a wipe and re-flash the rom that you want and it should fix the problem.
Thanks so much for this, that's fixed it.
Re wiping, since you can wipe from the Recovery and installation of the rom wipes before flashing anyway, is it necessary to use a wipe img? If so, what is recommended? (As I'm on HBOOT 1.49, I seem to only be able to run CWM 4.0.1.4 Shooteru Recovery).
ROM not booting
Looks like I've dug myself into another hole again.
The 'Sim Card detection' problem was fixed with a wipe from CWM 4.0.1.4 and flashed with ShaWn3D v1.4 rom. Everything works and I was happy.
But I was keen to try out the LeeDroid rom but the WiFi error keeps recurring despite my attempts with the solutions provided at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248838.
I've tried:
- re-flashing LeeDroid with so many versions of bcm4329.ko I've lost count
- reflashing the kernel with the LeeDroid kernel addet
- re-flashing another rom altogether (King Cobra v1.9) to see if it makes a difference; it doesn't - WiFi persists.
So now I've decided to go back to the ShaWn3D rom but now although the flash is successful, the boot is stuck at the white HTC splash screen.
What have I done wrong?
I've installed a custom Rom [Chaos] without a keyboard, and then flashed my favourite keyboard, Swiftkey, via CWMod.
During the Phone Startup wizard, this keyboard wasn't active, so I had to skip all the steps.
One of the steps was entering your name ("for personalising the phone").
I've gone through and manually configured everything else, but I can't find anywhere to enter my name in this way.
Does anybody know how I can configure this?
just curious - why do yo need it?
This is normally Security > Owner info (I think)
Just a note, I would not recommend removing the stock keyboard or launcher. These are essential for fall back if something goes wrong. Even if you're flashing a keyboard to /system/app, it's best to keep stock handy.
hello,
I couldn't find any other forum to discuss about this version of Huawei mobile phone. I really need help since the last legitimate EMU update ruined the whole system and now my new mobile phone that I have never had a chance to use it is like a trash device... I hope someone here can help me to recover it since i tried all ways I found on internet.
I bought this mobile from China and bring it to Europe. Since I wanted to remove some chinese default software (that wasn't basic software but really annoying), I used an app and rooted the mobile phone. so I removed some of chinese stuff and installed some of good software. Everything worked fine and I tested skype and I had high resolution picture with 8 Mega pixel camera. I tested all its functionality and it was really good...
I noticed that there is a new legitimate update for this OS, since I still didn't have any sd memory, I couldn't have a backup of this old system and this was a big mistake...
anyway... I let it do the legitimate update for EMU... but immediately after reboot, I noticed that Camera and bluetooth are out of functions... so I first thought the problem is with bluetooth configuration but I was wrong since the internal memory was read only and no longer available.
I formatted the internal memory via computer (the part which was available) but no luck... I bought a sd card and changed the storage from internal to external but this didn't help to function bluetooth and camera...
I had a back up from /system/apps and then removed manually the bluetooth.apk and also its odex file. then restarted the system, clear dev cache and tried to install bluetooth.apk again. but I received error message and couldnt' do that. so again I copied those file back to its location.
So bluetooth turns on now, can send signal but for receiving or sending file, it fails, It can also pairs with other device.. So I thought it should be something related to permissions. I again checked the bluetooth permissioin on /etc/permissions/platform.xml and notice they are ok.
I changed the permission of storage and added the external storage to the list and added group storage_rw.
but this also didn't solve the problem with camera and bluetooth.
several times reset to factory mode didn't solve the problem...
I tried to hack the bootloader but I could not unlock it... I sent all information to [email protected] and asked them to send me bootloader password and provide them with all detail information about the device and accepted that the device is out of warrant but I received no response...
I installed "safe system remover apps" and after having backup of Gallery2.apk, I uninstalled it (it is related to camera and all gallery information)... but with no luck I could install it again...
So, I am really hopeless now since I don't know whatelse I can to do... the system doesn't functioning and I need to load on it the custom ROM but the device only can go to fastboot and cannot load the recovery mode anymore and factory reset from the UI is only reset the mobile to fastboot without doing anything else.
I tried to run the factorymode.sh from the device but I receive error messages to access some files such as bluetooth parameters/power
I couldn't myself find this file on the directory that it looks for.
I would really appreciate it if you can tell me any way that I can unlock the bootloader from the device (because outside of the device I tried different applications but with no luck...)
I have a cutom ROM for G630-U20 (not exact version for this device but almost similar) and if I can have a bootloader password I can try this one or any other customized ROM.
I would appreciate any way that you can show me to solve the problem.... either by changing permissions to solve this problem.
Thank you.
