[Q] Carrier unlocking phones...will my phone work on GSM

This week the major carriers announced they will be unlocking their customers phones once their contracts run up.
Does this mean that my Verizon Galaxy s4 will work on a GSM network once it becomes unlocked by Verizon? Will I be able to use it on a carrier like T-Mobile?

[Q] Aftr unlocking, SPRINT Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 wrking wth otr GSM BUT not CDMA carrier

I recently got a locked Sprint Galaxy s4 SPH-L720. I bought it to unlock it and then use it with a CDMA carrier in India.
following an you-tube video (used website too), I was able to unlock the phone.

After following the steps, I was able to unlock the phone for GSM.
But as soon as I put a CDMA sim card...It displays "Invalid Sim"
Can someone please suggest something to make it work for CDMA too. I changed the network settings from GSM to CDMA but that didn't help too.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks

From what I can tell, there is no hardware for GSM support in that model, so this is not an option. Just because it has a SIM slot, does not mean it has the necessary antennas and such for other network support. Your best bet would be to use your phone as a hotspot or get a mobile hotspot if you are trying to use it without traditional wifi.

Question About International Version

I live in the US, and I am currently subscribed to Verizon Wireless Prepaid Service. I was thinking of buying the S9+ International Exynos Unlocked Version. I know that it doesn't have CDMA support.
But here's my question:
I have a S8+ which was bought from T-Mobile, and it didn't work on Verizon Wireless because it wasn't registered. So I flashed the firmware and it worked. I later got a B.Y.O.D simcard. This would mean that the GSM(Sim Chip) is the provider of the Verizon Wireless service.
So is it possible that the S9+ will work on Verizon Wireless as did for my S8+?
