Does the S3 Google Wallet fix work on the Note? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Curious if I can flash the same files on my Note to make it work with a VZW unit

I don't know but here's the thread on how to get it working for us.

How to setup AT&T?

Hello I will be receiving S3 tomorrow and I just wanted ask how to setup with AT&T. I have set it up before on my Galaxy Note N7000, is it pretty much the same way except for needing microSIM?

Yes, should be the same. When I got mine a few weeks ago i cut by SIM card down to micro size and put it in the phone. All data settings were automatically detected.

What kind of setup? I just popped in my sim and everything worked fine. I am running the unlocked, unbranded international version.
Cool thank you very much!
By the way do you guys have LTE plans? On Gnote I have LTE unlimited so I could take advantage of 5gb cap before throttle and visual voicemail. Have you guys set the visual voicemail as well? I hope it works the same as on gnote.

I have the international version so I don't have an LTE plan, I rarely hit my caps anyway as I am on wifi in the office and at home. As for visual voicemail, I use google voice so I wouldn't know.
Thanks again

(Q) Aosp/Cm10 Roms don't work on my note 2 (international carrier)

I have a verizon note 2 and always flashed beans, jedi, etc roms and work fine. Recently decided to try 4.2.2 and flashed rootbox and carbon rom and basically the same thing happened. I get no signal, the status bar just shows an R sign. Carbon locked up when booting too.
I don't use verizon service, I use it internationally, but TW roms work fine. What is wrong here?
Bump

Are these the ones made for the Verizon note? You can't use international roms without tweaks. And they definitely don't have the radios or anything to pick up service from Verizon. Or am I misunderstanding you?

Verizon sim question

So my buddy is selling a Verizon galaxy note 2 and I was gonna buy it for my girl, but its been turned off by verizon. I was thinking about taking the sim out and putting it on straight talk, with one of there tmo or at&t sim cards. But idk if that would work. Anyone have any ideas?

I see people posting about using bad ESN phones on straight talk all the time. I'm not brave enough to try it, but apparently somebody is making it work.
I pulled the trigger and grabbed super cheap so if this doesnt work ill just use it on wifi. I have the sim installed and everything, but im getting an error when sending calls or text so idk ill see wbat i can figure out.

Why would they disable tap to pay, and is this something we can un**** with custom roms?

Because Verizon always wants a piece of the pie no matter what. Google Wallet doesn't benefit them. Instead, they tried to get in with other carriers to create Isis, which is the same technology. Problem is that Isis is pretty much dead in the water, but Verizon won't give on to that reality, so they block the feature. With root, yes it is possible to use Google Wallet tap to pay. I did on my Galaxy S3.

I just read a review on google play and a sprint user was saying tap to pay did not work for him, maybe it is not a verizon thing

Isis is coming out with a different reload able card. Not to sure of the details, but apparently they are revamping everything in anticipation of a nationwide release. Hopefully it will be something that I can use instead of having to start an account with Chase or American Express

Didn't they have Google wallet working on the s4 with only root? Can't this be done with the note 3??

I'd assume you would need a custom ROM that the dev has modified to allows all NFC related functions
Please op change the tittle of your post gets me every time thinking that Google wallet is actually working thanks.

It can be done on the S3, S4 and Note 2 currently with root. In theory it could still work on the Note 3. Its just a simple edit of the build.prop to another device model, install and setup wallet, then change the model number back.
(Not tested on Note 3. I havent tried so plz dont say that i said it could be done)
Build Prop trick does not work

I tried the build prop trick on Galaxy Note 3 and it fails. I edited the build prop with no problem but when you open the Wallet app it gives the following error.....
Insufficient secure element privileges for this system image. (release-keys)
NOTE: I did swap my SIM card from my Note 2 to the Note 3 so I could use my most common phone number with the new device. I have not tried this trick with the pre-installed SIM card.

Changing the build prop is only half the fix you would need libs from either a sprint note 3 ROM. Once we get a recovery I will make a lib fix zip just as I did for the Verizon note 2.

Don't really need a flash file for this as you can manually place all the files as well. As far as I know though the Note 3 is missing the secure element to make this possible.
I sure the note 3 has a secure element ISIS uses the secure element and that works for tap to pay.

Question for ATT users on TMO phone

I got my unlocked TMO S5 today and all is working great except that I cant get isis to work now. Any ATT users have any luck with this? Found something on an LG forum where they edited the build.prop and got it to work but the instructions looked pretty specific to that phone.

no, you're not the only one. i tried and tried and said screw it and went with google wallet.
Ya it makes me sad just because of the cool promos going on right now. I tried with a custom rom as well with no luck.

I'm also interested if anyone has found a work around.
I can't guarantee that this will work but its worth a shot. I know it worked on my Verizon Note 3 when I had it..

That appears to help get past root which I have no issue with. I keep getting secure element issues even though I'm using the new secure sim card.

Oh ok. Getting the secure element issue straightened out has been a plague for awhile. I know that was an issue with getting Google Wallet to function on the Note 3 for quite some time. I'm not sure if they ever got that issue resolved on the T-Mobile Variant.
Here's a link to the forum where they were working on getting Wallet to work on the Note 3. The build prop change you mentioned is in there, but it doesn't allow the secure element to work.
