At least once a day or more, I pick up my phone and it's crashed. Does anyone else have this happen? I've used two different Samsung batteries, so I don't think it's the battery. I'm running the lastest version of SuperNexus .

What can I do on my own to confirm that's the problem? I don't normally see any issues with the button.

Power button failure is one possibility, but there are others. What firmware is the phone running?

Stock 4.0.4 is known to cause shutdowns, but that is obviously not your problem. To see if it is a firmware problem instead of a hardware problem, you should flash a different firmware, or a stock firmware, or both, and observe for a few days to see if you still have issues.
Why don't you try on odin and flash new rom

Easier to flash roms in CWM but odin is useful for flashing firmware to return to stock.
I have the same problem, my phone is completly stock.

This is a known issue with 4.0.4. Probably the best solution is either to go back to an earlier version of stock, or to install a custom firmware. Unfortunately this means you'll have to flash something.
If you want to go back to stock 4.0.3, the easiest way would be to use the one-click downloader. Go to the Download Repository (link in my sig) and it is the very bottom item on the page.
If you are unfamiliar with procedures, please do a little study first to understand what you need to do, then ask if you still need help.

Did you enable USB debugging before you have the problem?
Next time always read the last few pages of any mod/ROM/kernel before flashing.
Many people already complained that the MOD results in bootloops on Jellybean ROMs

I think at this point your only option is you might be able to use a jig to get to download mode and re-flash a stock firmware.

Yeah, I've got the same issue. I really hate seeing my Galaxy S3's soul dead! :-o
Faryaab just told me that this is normal and that the note 2 is the same so we have nothing to worry about.

Guys,
i have a Gnex and can tell you thats just how recovery looks...
Nothing to be worried about.
On Gnex we have Andy with the triangle and have to hold down volume buttons to get the options to appear... Dont know if you guys already have the options or just a blank screen with dead Andy.
If you have no options try a few key combos and they will appear
dont worry nothings broken.

It is most likely due to cwm 6.0.1.2 being broken. Can't create nandroid backup or detect external sd . I use 5.0.2.1 and can create backups on my external card.
In every other respect it's ok though as far as I know

go stock, wipe it all up and then go back to custom. That's what I would do.
What kernel you are on? Have you tried other ROM? I am trying to help you narrow down the problem. If all software on your phone give you same problem, it most likely hardware related.

You must have changed something, try to recall what did you do during ROM change process. All problems are a result of change or series of changes. That's why we have Change Management in the managing of IT systems.

at first, i just flashed the update... i then encountered an issue (acore someting? i can't remember) that's why i decided to to a full wipe (Wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik).
i figured out the issue here... it's my battery, quickly bought a new one and after a burn test, the issue never occurs again... thanks for the help guys!
Good to know.
don't go bricking now.

Anybody???
I will post a video of what it is doing.
I can access all: Download Mode & Recovery
But it's like no matter what rom i flash it freezes and crashes at startup causing a black screen.
I don't think this classifies as a hard brick cause it boots.
Anyone familiar with this and have a fix.

You're right its a soft brick , IMO i think it sounds like the 1.7 is causing the problem. Which stock are you using with Odin?

I'm using the june 2012 one from samfirmware.
try running with normal cpu clocks, 1512/384 and see if that helps
also, try booting without any external sd card, and, also, pull battery for 5 minutes and see if that helps
Fixed. Please lock and delete.

What did you find ?

Okay, so basically this problem first occurred a few days ago. Whenever I open my camera app it says error. I have this on several ROMs. Right now I'm on Epsilon Project and I got the problem once again.
Maybe the solution is to go back to stock and then flash ROMs again.. I'd be very pleased if someone can help me out.
