hello everyone, before this post i tried to google and search forums with the same problem but I cant get a fix.
my phone is samsung galaxy s3 [GT-I9300] not rooted. when I updated to jelly bean 4.0.1 from 4.0.4 my phone does not vibrate when notified even in vibrate mode. sound and vibrate is ticked from SOUND settings. I found out that ticking the vibrate when notified in MESSAGES then SETTINGS will make it vibrate when notified in VIBRATE MODE AND SOUND MODE. it should vibrate in vibrate mode ONLY not in SOUND MODE.
you guys got a real fix?

Hi, I just bought a Vibrant and used Kies to update it to 2.2 Froyo stock. It is rooted and unlocked. For some reason vibrate does not work at all. I tried:
- Volume down button to vibrate mode
- *#0*# brings up a debug screen, clicked vibrate test
- Set up SMS notifications for vibrate
- Settings->Sounds, vibrate on max settings and vibrate always
- Installed Sound Manager app, set vibrate to vibrate whenever possible
None of the above result in any vibrate...
Is this a known issue with Android 2.2 stock? How do I go about fixing this? Hopefully it isn't a hardware issue..
Could be the phone!
Flash another ROM and see is the problem persists.
why is that whenever i turn my phone into vibration mode, my phone doesn't vibrate whenever i receive messages. please help... thanks by the way im on romow 7.5 jb rom and im using the stock sms app.
Messaging>settings>Notification settings> Vibrate.
Hi All,
I´ve flashed deodexed XWLS8 stock from here and I am experiencing vibration during call when a new message comes in.
I am not able to disable it even if I have turned off notifications during call.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
The only way to turn off the vibration completely is to select the message app then menu/settings and scroll down towards the bottom till you find "vibrate" butonce you untick it you wont have vibration at all.
I think it vibrates anyway when you have it turned on.
thanks but I don´t think that is right. The setting you are suggesting WILL turn off vibration for that app completely.
I don´t think it should be vibrating when I am speaking to someone else, its very annoying.
Thanks!
If its set to vibrate in settings it will vibrate no matter what.In the latest firmware releases Samsung have changed the system.UI so this could also change the behaviour of things compared to previous firmwares.
I recently got the 4.1.2 JB update for my SGS2, but now when I get a text message my phone vibrates and makes a sound.
When i disable the vibrate option. It only makes the sound (this is the way I want it) but it doesn't vibrate when the phone is on the 'vibrate' profile.
Is there a way (like it was possible in ICS and GB) to get notifications with 'sound and no vibrations' in the normal profile and 'no sound and vibrations' when I'm on the vibrate profile?
Regards

Hello, what happened to the silent mode with the vibration from WhatsApp or Facebook with LED notification ? Seems to be missing from the Lollipop update.
Vibrate mode on Z3
I had the same problem but found this on another forum:
"lower the ringtone volume then tap on the bell icon".
It does work. I only got my new phone last week. I was just getting used to where everything was when the update changed things. Sigh.
