I can't get widget locker to work on the Nook. I installed it, and go to add a custom slider but something times out when selecting the app shortcut.
Has anyone had any luck?
This is due to the stock firmware not having the application picker service.
This is fixed in the beta, which also gives a bigger grid for widgets.
I'm assuming the beta you speak of is a beta android operating system for the nook by the XDA crew?
No, beta of Widget Locker. Just avoid messing with shortcuts until it releases.
How to change app drawer from horizontal pages to vertically oriented, using the default launcher? I used ADW before, but the default ICS launcher looks fine to me... for now
Also, there's how to increase the number of slots for shortcuts and widgets in home - in the default launcher too?

With stock Trebuchet launcher there really isnt a way, if i were you id look into alternate launchers like NOVA or APEX , i personally use apex though i dont see any options for vertical scrolling through the app drawer
Running CM9 (coffeebeans 4/30 build with latest pershoot kernel) on wi-fi 10.1, using Apex Launcher Pro.
I really enjoyed the old app drawer that didn't eat up the entire screen. In the new update, the apps in the app drawer take up the whole screen (similar to Nova Launcher, very different from Trebuchet). This is annoying because I love tapping the left or right of the screen to fast-switch app drawer screens. Yes I know technically the feature is still there, but more often than not, I hit an app instead of making the screen change because the space is so small now (beefy thumb syndrome).
Anyone here know if there's an option to go back to the old app drawer look? I posted at the Apex forum, but that place is a ghost-town filled with pr0n
Hi to everyone, I just upgrade honor 7 with mm. I'm using nova launcher and I noticed that now all of my widget doesn't work well. For example clock doesn't work and the time doesn't go on. Can you help me? Thanks
just installed nova launcher (trial version) and clock works fine.....I am on B320...
I'm experiencing this too. Can see my clock widget and my real time at the top. Using Nova launcher with weather widget. Not sure is it due to marshmallow, or nova launcher or the widget itself.

When you unlock the phone the widget clock is synced with the phone´s clock. But if you maintain the screen on, as time goes by, the widget is not updated.
This happens with other phones and clocks/apps. Seems to be a "feature" and not a bug
Probably a energy or security restrain.
I fixed it going to advance setting in the app section and giving the permission to wake up the phone to keep running also when the screen is off To the widget. Now works fine
What's your favorite launcher? Nova seems popular, and I use it, but my favorite one is total launcher currently full version unlocker is on sale for about a day.

It's not super user friendly because it's so customizable. Just an example with my screenshots you tap "net" it opens my web browser Firefox, but when I click on the flashlight now when I tap "net" chrome opens.
I've started using FastKey launcher and I'm loving it. Fastest launcher available right now.
I started using evie launcher. Replaced nova. Not as customizable, but very smooth. Low resources.
I like nova because gesture swipe screen up/down to open apps and notification. No need to tap app icon or swipe status bar, you can do it everywhere on the screen.
Is there any other lighter launcher than nova that have similar gesture?

Try FastKey, it's not pretty but it's brainless and crazy intuitive.
I tried fastkey, then i tried KISS launcher, KISS is better
I also use KISS launcher for a long time and satisfied with it

Yes, fastkey is the best launcher for people who have 100+ apps, I have 684 apps installed. But the dev of fastkey isn't active now.
I like Nova with swipe gesture.
- Swipe right to open Google (using google companion addon)
- Swipe down gesture everywhere at home screen to expand notification
- Open apps by swipping up
- and badges
- popup menu
KISS is the best for me

Same setup here and I've tried all the popular ones, but nothing comes close to Nova
Meh, I still think Nova is superior
Try lawnchair launcher it is customisable pixel launcher with blur option and supports icon pack ls and has swipe gestures
Been using Apex Launcher for ages. For me the key points are the ability to modify the grid on the home page and to be able to hide apps in the drawer. Would like to switch to a more modern launcher (and one that's actually maintained) but haven't found a suitable replacement yet. Tried Nova a couple of times but have always returned to Apex...
Nova all the way. I don't think I've ever used another launcher. And the weird part is I think most people prefer Nova for its gestures but I don't. For me, Nova's best selling point is convincing me that it isn't even there.
Sent from my Moto G5 Plus using XDA Labs
Nova is the best! I use it since my sony xperia S, bqck in 2012
Arc Premium Launcher
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I've used quite a few launchers before but now I have Meizu and I love their native interface so I stopped using another launcher
Keikai Launcher..
