Hi, I write here because I'm a new user and I haven't wrote 10 messages yet. I have some questions for MrTapa. First of all thanks for your work. I have a problem with your rom, Optimax 3.0 on my Ray: it's happened already 2 times that the phone reboots by itself and get stuck on Sony logo. Only way to resolve is to flash stock rom with Flashtools. When it happened for the first time I was installing X-Parts from the market (I have locked bootloader), while the second time I was deleting some desktop pictures from system/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/wallpaperpicker/wallpapers. If it can useful my basic configuration is: GX launcher, NXT framework, T tabbed statusbar, supercharger + zipalign (even if I tried the method for use init.d on stock kernel but with no success), SuperSU, Z theme, NXT contacts and dialer. Are there some incompatibilities with this configuration? However with the old versions of Optimax I never had problems at all.
Another question is about the battery: I noticed that with your roms the charge time is reduced compared to the stock rom, about 2 hours instead of 3 hours. Also the battery life is very short, only 1,30-2 hours with screen on (just used with system apps, with no other apps installed). Have you changed some files configuration concerning the battery?
Thanks in advance.

From my experience with st15i (Mini) and after evaluating ALL available kernels and MOST of available ROMs I can suggest:
1. About bootloop it can happen if you missed some critical step ( e.g format system ). If developer suggests to format system, DO it. You will loose your data but there is NO other option. (You can use Titanium Backup to backup your apps+data before ROM installation and restore them after). If it is a ROM bug search ROM's thread for someone with similar problem. It's statistically extremely rare to be the first to face the particular problem. Maybe your problem is all ready fixed (after other member's question to developer).
2. Battery drain: the most important factor is kernel. Usuall, ROM plays minor part in battery drain. With the right kernel and adjustments (governor - I/O scheduler) you can even double your battery's life. In my device it was 20-24 h to 48-60 h after flashing a custom kernel. You can also use a battery saver app (like Ultimate Juice, Battery Saver DU etc).

Thanks for reply. About first point I actually done every steps that the developer has suggested: wipe user data, format system, data, cache, dalvik cache, battery stats.
About the battery I don't know why, but the difference between original rom and Optimax rom is clear. I have reflashed the modified rom just few hours ago, the battery drain has been about 20% in two hours with phone simply in standby. I don't think this is a normal behavior. With original firmware it doesn't happen. The condition battery is good. I have stock kernel because I have locked bootloader.
Maybe this problem is about root: or the root process has not gone totally succesful, or the cause of the problem is SuperSU, wich I have never used before but in my opinion it is not very stable. It's better Superuser.
I wanted write on Optimax thread but I can't because I'm a new user, I would be grateful if someone can contatc the developer (MrTapa) about my problem.

My battery drains way too fast. Currently I am running Wolf's Tw gb on ul bootloader and doom kernel.
It doesn't drain that fast before. I used to listen to music without my battery going empty quickly, now it drains fast after every song even when the screen is turned off.
Should I just reset my phone back to normal?
Also some questions about resetting:
1. Does factory reset (on xRec) fully reset everything? Like my rom and my kernel, would it be reverted to the first time or would it remain the same?
2. Will factory resetting on the main settings itself also work? Would it reset my rom too?
I currently have no access to reset my phone through a computer (my pc crashed). Neither do I have access to add other roms on my memory card since there isn't a custom zip nor a backup of previous rom. (It's on my pc :l )
(Sorry if it takes time to read )

question number 1, i havent done that, but i think resetting ur phone using xRec would not make your phone reverted to its original, it just delete all your files and installed apps. just backup your important files...
question number 2, goes the same, your rom wont change, your still a Wolf's Tw gb subscriber XD...
Use Google Play GSam Battery Monitor and find out what's using all your battery.
Oh, ....and then refine or delete/uninstall the process.
Resetting ur phone wont make any change in battery life..
Maybe u installed some apps that make ur phone drain the battery faster..
And u can try to reset the battery stats (i havent seen any change after doing it.. But some other x10 users say it'll help)

If you don't install those auto-start apps (killing them won't help so don't try, u must root your device then stop them from auto-start apps using tuner apps)
I'm sure factory reset can increase your standby time but doesn't work if you keep screen on or making calls a lot (flashing stock Tom is better than factory reset if you installed Mods)
have luck!

1) Factory reset will retur you to the clear ROM (already installed on your phone) just erase configuration, email accounts configured, and everything which is related with accounts and user configurations only
2) Check answer of the first question
Guyz I recently install jb v5 with phantom kernel. I had some problems with led, sound and battery.. I was charging the phone everyday..I install v4 but same any help?

Hi,
First things first, don't panic!
I have the same setup as you and I'm currently @ 67% after 24 hours so it definitely isn't a problem with the ROM.
Did you follow the instructions from the first post?
Flash custom kernel Phantom[1.0.7]-Performance-CWMTouch
Boot to recovery and flash ST25i_6.2.A.1.100_unofficial.zip..
Full wipe recommended when flashing the first time.
Wipe caches when updating
Reboot to system
Wait for POWER OFF button when you did full wipe if not then just turn off
Flash latest Phantom kernel
Reboot to system
Everything should work now
For point 3/4 above, what did you wipe?
Also what ROM did you have on your phone previously?

Let me tell you exacly.. I had a problem with the phone .. About led so i decide to change the version and use v4 .. But i recharge it full and i had it on my desk w/o using it for 3 days. The battery was at 40 % and i use it only 1 time for 1 call .. Nothing more...
I flash the kernel wth flashtool. Wipe everything.Install Jb wipe cache and then use the phone. Wait for power off buttom then open again..
I don't know what is the recovery mode btw.. I search it but i didn't find something usefull .I still don't know if i will use Jb Unofficial yet...
I haven't tried v4 of that ROM but I can say for sure that the LED bar doesn't work very well on V5, at least nowhere near as well as DevSwift1's V3 ROM with the latest Phantom kernel.
It does seem to be quite good on battery though; I'm on 1 day, 12 hours uptime with 47% charge left, although I don't use it a whole lot to be fair -- mostly just for music during the day.
I guess you must have used a recovery to flash the ROM zip file... as in CWM (ClockWorkMod)? The Phantom kernel comes with one installed; 1.0.7 has CWM Touch whereas 1.1.0 (the latest version) has a non-Touch version.
The only thing I can suggest is that you try reflashing it again; I'll tell you exactly what I did...
Using Flashtool, put Phantom kernel 1.0.7 on the device and then go into CWM Touch by restarting the phone and repeatedly pressing the Volume Down button when you see the LED bar light up.
Once there do a wipe of data and cache and then go in to the advanced menu and wipe Dalvik cache too.
Next go back to the main CWM menu and flash the zip, then reboot and wait for the phone to start up (should take a while).
Once it has settled down restart it and let it start up again (should take less time)
Finally, use Flashtool to put the latest version of the Phantom kernel on, restart and you're done.
With all that said, I expect I'll be going back to V3 of DevSwift1's JB ROM this weekend as although it's not quite as smooth as pipi14's ROM, the LED bar does work a lot better and for me that is quite important.
Good luck, keep us informed how you got on.

Thanks a lot for the informations mate. You help me a lot . But i'm the only one who have this problem with led and battery?
What Jb version you suggest me to use? (link )
What kernel you suggest me to use ? (link)
Any other good apps who will help me ?
Again Thanks a lot .
Btw what is "recovery flash" . I read at pipi's site flash in recovery. What exactly is this?
I've personally tried two Jelly Bean roms:
DevSwift1's V3 ROM (it's now up to V4 which is based on an Xperia Go firmware and has lower-res graphics and some other issues compared to V3, which was ported from the Xperia P).
link
pipi14's V5 ROM (which you have tried and are currently using.)
link
As for kernels I've only used the one that came included with DevSwift1's V3 ROM and Phantom kernel's from v1.0.7 upwards. I know that a number of people have used the Experimental v8 kernel with success on JB but it looks to be more complicated than Phantom.
Experimental v8 kernel
Phantom kernel
From my own experience I will say that I think pipi14's V5 ROM is smoother but I can't get the LED bar working how I want and although it still had a few issues on DevSwift1's V3 ROM it was definitely better.
As far as apps go, it seems the fewer apps the better if you want to stick with JB on your Xperia U -- it doesn't have enough memory and the more apps you have running the worse it will be. Task killers will not help and will probably end up draining your battery more than they help.
A custom recovery is basically a low-level program that you can use to flash new kernels, ROM's and other things on to your phone. ClockWorkMod (CWM) is the most common but others are available. You must have used a recovery to flash JB to your phone before, and if you have a Phantom kernel it comes bundled with one. To get in to recovery mode you need to restart your phone and then press the Volume Down button when you see the boot logo (e.g. Phantom).

That's the reason why sony will not send the updates to official JB version .
I will not use Jb now . If they fix it about the bugs i will use . Thanks for the info mate
Btw i use something custom like tera check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141726&highlight=tera
It's nice based on the ICS w/o so much battery drain and leds bug. I suggest you use this .
Hello everyone!
I request your help please, because sometime my phone goes stuck and I have to reboot each time.
First, here is my configuration :
XWLSW NeatRom Lite 4.8 installed with full wipe (Philz kernel) + Blue Ginger Plus Theme + Apex Launcher + Fancy Widget (clock + weather) on my main page.
I have to precise, that before installing the NeatRom, I had an older ICS ROM (CriskeloServanTeam V12), and this kind of stuck used to happening on my device, that's why I decided to install a new ROM.
Here is the 2 last situtations when my phone was stuck :
- I'm charging my phone just before going to sleep (in fly mode), and in the middle/end of the night, surely after my battery reach 100%, I'm looking to the clock of my phone : it display 2h31 (instead of the real time 5h23), probably at the time when my phone goes stuck.
Symptoms : Time was stuck, Apex Launcher close, Status bar is missing on the lockscreen, impossible to goes through the lockscreen, but it is possible to reboot (luckily!).
- In the daily use of my phone, I decided to activate the data by the status bar on the lockscreen, then I switch off the screen. 15-20 min later, I want to unlock my screen, but impossible, it is stuck.
Symptoms : Status bar is missing on the lockscreen, impossible to goes through the lockscreen, but it is possible to reboot (luckily!).
So my questions :
Why this is happening?
Is anyone else already have this kind of stuck with this configuration?
What can I do to fix that?
Thanks a lot!
Sound like a sod to me. What kernel are you using? Did you do format before you changed to neat rom from ics rom??
Kernel is responsible for these actions.I had so many and also random freezes with DorimanX kernel...ahh ...Now I have Apolo Kernel and eveything is okay.No freezes, and awesome battery.Try out Apolo kernel And also do a factory reset, and don't install themes or mods...run it clean for a few days, see iif it still presists.
First, thank you both for your answers.
Then, my kernel is the one that goes with the NeatRom Lite version 4.8 : XWLSW-5.06.1-PhilZ.
I think my problem is a Sleep of Death too. Yes I did a wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system, and format preload before installing the Rom. Is it normal I have a SoD after I did all of this?
Else ok for the Kernel, I will try the Apolo. Is it ok to install it with the NeatRom lite 4.8 ?
Well you did the install ok so I dont see the problem philz kernel is good for neat rom. You should try apollo kernel reg first. But I would say test the rom with out the mods and then flash mods one by one. But like I said philz is good for neatrom. Try factory reset which will clear the mods and test it with philz first.
Ok thanks I will try that.
Just another question, is the Apex Launcher is considered as a "mod" and should I use the TW launcher some days instead, or can I still use the Apex Launcher (the freeze cannot come from this app) ?
I shouldn't think apex would cause this. Probably, clock widget is but not to sure.
I just noticed I had the debug mode activated on my phone (I don't know why? maybe I activate it by mistake? but I don't remember). Could the recurring Sleep of Death happens because of this?
Nope. SOD's are not caused by usb debugging. Follow andrewwright's advice, he knows what he's talking about.
Sent from a galaxy far, far away
simply go back to stock rom
Yes but ... no I like custom Roms, so I will try all I can before going back to a stock Rom
I did some research and I think this is not really SoD that happening to to my phone.
Effectively I read that SoD is the behavior in which the phone goes into "sleep" mode... typically screen off, and then won't wake up with power button.
However, when my lockscreen is frozen, I can still push the power button and access the power menu to reboot my phone, I don't have to remove the battery.
So if this is not a SoD, what is it?
So what did you try? If its still happening and it was me I would now format the lot, reinstall the rom with nothing on it. No mods and no apps and see if it happens again. So no apex no widget and no flashing of any mods. Then test that for two days. If problems are still there I would try a different rom to rule out software. I no neat is solid and so is philz kernel. Im
I changed the battery (it was recent, less than 1 year, but you never know, maybe defective).
I reinstalled the same rom, but with no mods, no themes, and no restoring apps from Titanium (but I installed them by downloading them by the Playstore).
Almost 2 days fine, but yesterday it froze again.
So now I will try to format, but before, do you think a scandisk plus a defragment on my SD Card could help?
Yes that help clear out any crap left over from different roms.

I did a chkdsk/scandisk on my intern SD Card, and installed the last version of Philz kernel (5.11.2).
Atm, I still had no freeze. If I have one, I will try to format the lot and reinstall the rom with nothing on it as you said.
Fingers crossed mate
that`s happened with the problem with the base rom i mean the stock rom that`s i flashed with odin i changed it an every thing is ok now
I finally format my phone, not because I had freeze again, but because some of my app had strange behavior.
So now I just have the NeatROM Lite version 4.8 installed, with no mods nor theme. Waiting some days to see if it is still stable.
Hard thing to do if you have it set up the way you want but the best way mate. You should find neat Rom is solid. Do you have stock kernel? Philz?
Hey guys, I am new here and I need some help, my Xperia P have big problems, battery is draining, with 100% only take 30 minutes or less to be on 0%, and is very slow, all started when I change ICS to JB, my phone was not too fast like before, now, trying to repair that and looking to solve problems with battery time I have Unlocked Bootloader and installed a Kernel (Phanton), including the Moonbreaker Rom, and the phone is worse, very low performance and battery draining like a hell, so, I need to know, how can I fix it and how to make a new clean Rom installation without delete all my data, PLEASE Helpppppp!!
@AlbertCamus
First lets hear which firmware have you installed (link t thread) and which pjantom kernel.
I can't even imagine how the battery be drained 100% in 30 minutes, from tests I have done and 2 and a half hours HD youtube video over wifi drains the battery about 51-56%, so thats way too much.
I am using stock ROM and kernel with few tweaks and today I had about 40% drain after 21 hours and 1 hour 20 minutes of screen on time (no calls no data)
All you need is rooted stock ROM 6.2.A.1.100, and it's quite easy to do.
The data you should simply backup, backup with stock backup, export your contacts, and then if you wish you can backup with titanium backup or other.
I also keep my phone backed up with my google account.
You won't lose data on internal storage only on device memory.

I have this rom: JB MoonBreaker v3.5 ROM, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258058
And this Kernel: Phantom Kernel v 1.1.0 b Stock JB Kernel - Power Saver Edition, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43351279&postcount=201
I have to say I was having problems with battery drain before installed that Kernel and Rom, with Stock JB, but I really need to solve it, I have CWM, Root and UnlockBootloader, how can I do a clean rom installation and... do you recommend me go back to Stock JB and Stock Kernel? or what another Kernel? man I need help, this is making me crazy.
How did you upgrade from ICS to JB and what JB version is it?
If you have used PC Companion you can simply do repair to have stock back and take it from there step by step.
You can disable services you don't use, delete apps you don't use (I delete most of what comes with stock)
Than there are few tweaks like S98screenstate_scaling you can use (neets init.d support), Install Greenify to keep apps from running in background, and of course STAMINA mode help to save some more juice.
Most omportant, relax

My first update was through Flashtool, ICS to JB, later the second update JB to next firmware through PC Companion
I will try to repair with PC Companion now, hope this work about battery problems....
And yes... I will try to relax haha,
Plain stock should not me more than 20% drain for 10 hours standby time with wifi.
EDIT: I forgot PC Companion won't update lunlocked bootloader but you can still build the FTF file from PCC files after it finish d/l them and tell you it can't update, and flash it with flashtool.

Hello, it's easy to understand, i have a @#&£== battery drain with Android 6 for Note 5, (official rom), "Android Os" suck my battery.
How it can be??
Only way is custom rom but I don't want.
Thanks if u can help me.
My Phone is a Galaxy Note 5 (N920C with 6.0.1 rom, official Samsung rom, fully wiped before installation)
forget my post, i finally decided to return to a custom rom......
Nemesis Rom 3.0
battery ok.
up, anyone can explain my battery drain in official rom? (only custom rom can fix it)
It is well known that Samsung roms are the worst coded roms for battery life. It's TouchWiz. It is horrible.
What I recommend is:
Use a 3rd-party launcher, like Nova Launcher (I love it personally)
Root your phone and install an app like Rom Toolbox that can disable system apps.
Use Rom Toolbox (or similar app) to "freeze" any background system apps that seem useless. Be careful and try to Google anything before you freeze it, to make sure it isn't important to your phones functionality.
i think u didn't understand
when i got the phone, everything goes normally.
one time i changed rom i used river rom.
and one day i wanted to back to stock rom.
wiped all, installed last stock rom.
and at this time, abnormal battery drain began...
"Android os"
it's not touchwizz, it's just malfunction, but why? i flashed correctly..
