Ive looked all over the internet to no avail. I am trying to access the hotspot admin settings. T-Mobile has provided information to their customers on how to access these settings for T-Mobile phones, but I have yet to find any information regarding this for any other carriers. Does anybody know how to access admin settings for the wifi hotspot feature? Is there a generic web address to punch in to get access? is there a carrier specific web address?
I have a Galaxy SII GT-I9100M on Sasktel network.
**Edit**
OK. So I just found an app on Google Play that lets you access extra info and I think it allows to access advanced settings, but its only for the SCH-LC11. You can find it looking thru Google Play for "Hotspot Admin SCH-LC11" Thats the actual full name for the app so im just assuming that it only works for that particular model. I may be wrong and it might not provide access to settings but its something like this that im looking for. The best I can describe it is the same as the admin page for a router. Its this that I am looking for. T-Moblie tells their customers to go to web page ****** but when i try that it doesnt come up with a page. any help would be appreciated!
Here's the webpage I seen for T-Mobile:
********
Ok so XDA forum wont let me post outside links just yet but if you want to know the info just ask for it and i will find a way to get it to you.
Not sure which ROM you are running but on mine (Cynogenmod 10.1 based on android 4.2.1) go to settings. Then in the first section (Wireless & network) go to "Tethering & portable hotspot".

I've got my Gtablet working on a school system wireless network that uses Websense for filtering. I can get the web browser to work with Websense by putting in my Windows credentials so I can browse. However, some apps, like App Store don't work and I assume they are being blocked by Websense since other applications like the Weather Channel do work. Does anyone know of a work-around?
By the way, thanks to all who have posted in this forum, especially the developers. I am a total n00b but I've learnd tons already. This morning I repaced the system tools so I could configure the wireless to use 802.1x EAP and then set them back again.

Has anyone implemented an SSLstrip on Android, so that, if I was running Wireless Tether, I could scan packets with Shark, and get passwords and logins from secure sites that have been downgraded to http? Is it possible?
I'm looking for the same.
Currently what I do is: tethering + Shark, then analyse pcap with Wireshark on PC, of course you miss all SSL traffic.
BUT if you add a laptop, then ARP poisoning + SSLstrip...
of course need a laptop so it's not great

Bump? I can look into maybe porting it over IF ITS POSSIBLE...cuz I mean if we can port other things with the ndk this should be portable, right?
there is! program called Faceniff. It does not show full passwords neither youre able to use credentials, but you can clearly see it works gathering acount name and password.

Hello,
I am currently floating around in the Atlantic with an incurable case of boredom. My ship does not have wifi or any hope of coming close to a domestic cell tower anytime soon. I would love to be able to download apps from the market or another source so I can transfer to my personal laptop and then to my T-mobile G2x to stave off this dreadful condition. Any help would be MOST appreciated!!!

Or just look for apks on google, they are out there.
Also what kind of internet does your laptop have, satellite?
I am on a US Navy ship and we get our connection over satellite.
www.freewarelovers.com/android
All freeware and has a lot of apks just download transfer and install.
Sorry i dont get it, am i missing something.
If you have internet access you can download anything from the Android market and it installs directly to your phone. ie/ google the android market, login with your gmail account and it will detect what phones you have with a gmail email logged in.
Then simply browse, find the app you want and click install, select your phone and then it will automatically install on your phone (as long as it has some kind of internet access).
So unlike other websites, there is no need to copy, paste, or transfer anything.
Sorry if i missed the point, i assumed thats what you were asking???
He does not have internet access on his phone (i assue the satellite connection is strictly wired on the ship). So answers above above are the answer. Google will ultimately be the best place but alternate markets should also be checked out. Cant think of te name right now but if anyone knows the market that yongzh moved his emulators too, i believe they offer direct to pc ownload for ree and paid. Im not sure though so dont blame me f im wrong

The phone itself needs to be connected to a data network for that to work.

Hi pal,
Sorry but I know nothing about Hotspot Shield neither would I trust anyone to secure my data on my behalf when I can do it myself, especially if american!
Maybe this could help you, not only Androidwise: you could use it for all your web activities (BTW what's your country?)
You can use "SSH Tunnel Beta" from the market.
As you cannot access it I am posting the apk.
Or you could search SSHTunnel(BETA) v1.6.0beta.apk on google and you might find it.
Works like a charm, I use it to encrypt and to change my IP, whatismyip.org correctly reports the IP of the ssh server.
You need an ssh server to act as a proxy obviously.
(alternative is an proxy but firemole is not available on android)
All you need is a linux box in a datacenter.
Provider gives you root and password that you should change to something super secure, adduser name, disable root logins (/etc/ssh/sshd_config) and a few more things to be secure or if you like to risk.. just use the provided rootassword on your ssh tunnel app
I hire from www.leaseweb.com which is in NL or DE, you can get a VPS linux from many providers and they cost under 10 euro / month or get superb dedicated servers like I do if you have a use for them . Bandwidth is great but depends from the network in you country and also on the backbones used but you hardly care about this others are www.lowendbox.com and www.vps4you.it that offer 30 day trial
Hope this helps and doesn't just confuse you... But if you live in a country where things are banned I guess this would upgrade your web freedom
Now lets get back to work
G
PS you could also use it on your wireless router (get a www.dd-wrt.com / opnwrt / pfsense capable router) and you're done house/firm-wide
Thanks alot for the info mate
I'll see what I can do and report back..
Really appreciate your help
PS. btw am from Sudan..
hi i subscribed to a site that gives premium access to many file hosting sites by setting up their dns and logging in their web page... this works flawlessly on the pc but on android well it consumes a little of ram to have many tabs open and you have to open it everytime you want to download something so the question is is there a way to make an app where you put your login data and the app automatically logs in the website everytime you connect to the internet? (wifi/3g)
if yes can someone help me making it or can someone (best option beacuse i don't know a single thing about programming ) make this app for me nad the rest of android users that would like this service on their phone? thanks in advice and sorry for my english
