click on the link its the free version... scroll down to post 2 and download and install V1.12RC6 which is the latest . after the first battery cycle it will start telling you whats draining battery (if anything ) and after 2 or 3 cycles you'll get an exact knowhow of what needs stopping

And *Poof*... Battery Life is Decent!(?)

I have this S2 for about a month now and up 'til about 2 days ago I was getting quite frustrated with the battery life. From 8am to about noon I'd be down to sometimes 50% and by 3pm I'd be getting ready to put it on the charger at about 20-30%.
So a couple days ago I decided to uninstall Advanced Task Killer Pro (with advice from some members on XDA) and installed Watchdog and blacklisted at 1% threshold a whole bunch of stuff. ie. Wifi Sharing, Social Hubs, etc.
Now it's almost 4pm, same usage as before and I'm at 73%! Compared to before it's a major breakthrough. This is battery life that is expected. So maybe some of you guys should try the same and see how it works for you. Cheers.
what are all the apps you blacklisted?

Here's some screens of apps I whitelisted and blacklisted.
More.....................
You just need to know what processes are running on background, for that install Better Battery Stats, search in XDA, and see under 'Partial Wakelocks'.
And stop using ATK, its advised, don't know why!

Here's the best part... NO ROOT!
I just downloaded Watchdog pro, you did not make it did you , I don't want to root as i paid a lot for my simfree S2 and i have only had it a couple of days.
I see you are using "Battery Monitor Widget Pro" , I have been using it for months with a few android phones, I wish Samsung had realtime mah/current usage like HTC.
I have my S2 on charge at the moment with an 650mah Sony Ericsson charger, and "Battery Monitor Widget Pro" is saying it`s charging my S2 at 989mah
Check out my post history and you'll see where I discovered Watchdog. I have nothing to do with that app.
5:30pm and I'm at 61%. This is outrageous. Normally the battery would be completely dead at this time and already on the charger. Screens attached.
Blacklist is only in pro version?

I set the threshold at 1%.
Mine is very odd. Overnight, everything on (no special settings), I typically lose 10-15%. Nothing changed. During the day, I lose 40% with maybe 10 minutes of use. Display is always listed as high, but with 10 minutes of use, that seems really weird.
This whole battery thing is also temprature related. Yesterday was kinda warm here. Had to charge my phone twice. While normaly on a lot of use I can get 12+15hours.

If I download "watchdog" I get a game.
There is no "watchdog pro".
So, please share the EXACT app name.

It's called 'Watchdog Task Manager Lite' or 'Watchdog Task Manager Pro'
The Pro version has the blacklist feature, the lite version works more like a task manager, monitoring CPU and killing apps when they reach a certain threshold use of your CPU. In the UK the Pro version costs £2.14 (exVAT).

[Q] SGII CM9 Battery Problem

I flashed CM9 on my GSII on Friday and ever since it's had 5-6 hours on usage. I've tried doing the battery calibration stuff, seemed to be better Monday and today it had 50% after a few hours of gaming so that seemed normal but then i reset it and it dropped down to 10%. I tried calibrating again and still 5 hours.
I've been using that Battery Calibration app and it game me 40% charge at ~3500mV. I'm not sure whether that is the battery volume but seeing as 100% was 4200mV something seems wrong.
Anyone have any ideas?

It isn't ICS, i flashed it on a friends GSII at the same time and his last 1-2 days like usual.
i´m test ics roms, and have much differences between them.-
maybe the kernel makes the difference.-
But is a fact that GB has better battery management, that ICS

I have an LG GT540 as well with ICS on it and that would get 8 hours regular usage with it. My GS2 get's less then that without me using it.
Ok you compare with other device, i Spoken to Galaxy s2, Ics have bad battery management, in sleep mode.-
But I´m still test the slim rom with neal kernel and have 53% battery after 30hs. with a general purpose.-
try it this rom an kernel,.-
As was already pointed out, bad battery life is almost always a rogue app keeping the phone awake, install Better Battery Stats and CPU Spy to monitor wake locks and deep sleep, if you find a problem with an app keeping your phone awake, uninstall it and your problem will likely go away. Personally, I've been running CM9 and other variants of ICS for months and I get less than 1% per hour of drain while the screen is off and the phone is asleep, this is better than Gingerbread was.

Right, but background sync can still hit the battery, even with screen off. I was just curious.
Ive had days with horrible drain but it was almost always an app doing something dumb and keeping the phone awake, bad cell reception or a noisy wifi router. The trick being to identify wake locks that seem suspicious and track them down.

Go into system settings > Battery and check what is using most battery.
If it's screen there's not much to do other than leave auto brightness on.
The phone does use a lot of juice when it's on though, undervolting and underclocking might help a bit...
download cpu spy and betterbattrrystats
1 double check your phone is going into deep sleep when u switch of screen
2 use betterbatterystats to find out what's using all ur juice ( disable all the things u can ie sync mobile data etc)
3 have u overlooked or undervolted
4 what is your max cpu freq set at.
5 once you've found rogue app remember to uninstall betterybatterystats otherwise it will eat your battery ( learnt from experience )
hope this helps

5. ok!
1 cpu spy tells who how long in each freq sTate your phone has been
make sure "deep sleep" got the most time
2 hmm dunno then
try setting screen brightness down.
don't worry about 3 4 5
sounds like some app us constantly updating what you got running .

the deep sleep has the most of the time. so as the 144MHz, about 1 hour, and the 200MHz, 1:24 hours.
how can I check what app uses the most of the 1400MHz and the 200Mhz???
It could be media scanner. Sometimes it get's stuck and keeps on running. You can download rescan media from playstore and disable it.

You could post your better battery stats on its thread. People there usually analyze it for you.
But basically your looking for apps with high time and /or count.
Each count represents that app going out of deep sleep for a microsecond or less. So an app with a high count will be constantly waking up your phone even if it's total time is only a few seconds.

Try to use watchdow to see wichs apps/process/system process are using most of your cpu, ma xcpu freq (1400mhz) shouldn't be that high so maybe a rogue app is draining your battery
If you want to see the wakelocks i recomend using GSam battery monitor, in the app sucker you can see wich apps are waking your device an how many times, but you have to try out after a period of time
The other problem could be some corrupted media files that make your mediaserver drain a lot of battery, if so, check the .nomedia files in your sd, look for image not loading in the gallery, use an mp3 checker app to se if some of your music files are corrupted (search through xda, someano posted an utility to do this) and try to re-encode your mp3, in my case, this solved my issue
hope it helps

Try to use watchdog app to see wichs apps/process/system process are using most of your cpu, max cpu frequency in use(1400mhz) shouldn't be that high, not even heavy playing, so maybe a rogue app is using your cpu
If you want to see the wakelocks I recomend using GSam battery monitor, in the app sucker you can see wich apps are waking your device an how many times, but you have to try it out after a period of time (overnight gets the best results)

it could be a whole bunch of things, people won't be able to help if you don't post any info of your device rom/kernel, wifi on? gps on? screen brightness? all that needs to be taken into consideration.
The most common problems for battery drain are media scanner as mentioned earlier, Google maps, wifi is a big drainer even if you are IDLE for some reason wifi keeps on receiving something (i'm guessing it is the "keep alive" packet) but havent dug into it, also found that "Samsung push Service" was sucking juice so I froze the bugger, the last thing I found on my S3 (runing Wanam's leaked JB DLH4) was "DRM Protected content" for some reason it kept coming up so I froze the sucker with Titanium backup and i'm doing around 20 to 21 hours average.
I've used Better Battery Stats, Battery Drain Analyzer and Android's own battery analyzer to keep track of my usage.
I hope anything of this helps you and good luck on your findings.

let the ROM settle, 2 or 3 battery cycle.
installs BBS, cpu spy and gsam battery monitor
check which app is consuming more battery
if it is media scanner, there is rescan media apk available to disable it.
calibrate the battery and monitor it.

I`m able to fix my problem. Connected my phone to my PC and it is repaired to me. It was take around 1 hour to check and fix. After that I`m able to format over windows and now everything is working perfectly.
It's about the memory
I had the same problem with my S2 , it was getting hot and the battery life was shorter than norma, i has so little free memory on phone memory,so i deleted some apks and created some free space and the problem solved,my phone returned to it's normal state.i think that was the reason so check this out if it works. :good:

Turn off google now its tracks where you every 20 sec and this eats battery very fast. It will use about 3-5% battery a hour. Also install deep sleep battery saver
Look a trick for saving battery this method disables background processes in settings go to development and down, limit background processes to 1 or 2

i suggest u to atleast charge ur device 3 hour in morning.
And Disable Samsung Push Services from Application manager and which system app u dont use. if u rooted use than best thing is deleted unwanted system apps.

..yeah your battery's probably screwed. I'd suggest take a new one
3G can consume a lot of battery in low quality connections. Maybe it is your case.
Verify if it happens on a specific location or everywhere.
Also, configure network mode to WCDMA only. It avoids phone for checking which connection is better (3G or 2G). It drains battery faster,
