Can anyone rpvoide me step by step instructions on how to fix this?
My situation
I accidentally flashed a hox for my kernel ( this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074244 ). Now i am stuck on the flash screen also i can't access the sd card from computer but i can still send commands into usb fast boot. I don't have a zip on the sd card to flash boot in. I have a backup ab file of my data and apks but i can't use it inside the hox. I went to the dev section and trying everyone kernel but i am stuck on the flash screen. I thought i could fix it by formating so i formated sd and card and system. It made it terribly worst (lost all data).
Additional information I had a look at this thread and it seems to be useful http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459&page=17

its a htc one x+ international btw. The phone doesn't support openning it so i can't get the sd card or batteyr out. The computer detects the sd card but i can't access the driver. It just beeps that it reads it. I can go into bootloader fine but everyt kernel i use just gets me stuck on the flash screen. I formated the sd drive but it didnt work still and i lost my data on it. i have it backed up though.

Hi All
I've purchased the Aria for my wife, got it on Ebay today and now i'm trying to install a new ROM for it, without much success, I have 15 different chrome tabs open, and I think I've kinda need help now, here's what I did :
i've been following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159237 mainly, since I saw it's for 2.2.2.
I managed to S-Off successfully, and install CWM, but failed at actually getting CWM to work, after a long troubleshooting, I discovered I still don't have my phone rooted (downloaded titanium backup to verify it).
so I went over and looked at the root guide using unrEVOked Recovery - it does it's things and reboot the phone twice during the process, but then it says "unable to root, firmware is too new ?"
so I figured I might have an odd firmware, tried installing the one from HTC Website, it didn't seem to work either (failed to install) but I didn't troubleshoot it much since I saw that the version HTC has is exactly the same one I was had.
at this point, I ready many guides, but seen no one with the same Root problems I had, so i'm hoping any1 can direct me to the next steps, what am I doing wrong ?
here's some data from the bootloader screen, incase you need it :
Liberty PVT Ship S-Off
HBOOT-6.02.1002
MICROP-031b
Touch Panel-STN21_00
Radio-7.16.35.11
Nov 4 2010
Thanks
The S-OFF portion was successful, so at least you got that far. S-OFF does NOT automatically give you root.
Unrevoked will not work on your device because it only works on older devices that have HBOOT version 0.57.00. That's what the error message there meant. That's fine though, you don't need to use Unrevoked.
If you have HTC Sync installed, uninstall it. Then follow these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122694 (the first 6 steps only)

thanks for the fast response.
did the first 6 steps (cwm installation) using recovery img from CWM 2.517 , went fine, but still can't load any ZIP files using CWM, it says "no zip files found".
basically same as before.
so when you boot it into cwm then go install zip from sd nd comfirm it all, it comes up with "no zip files found"

I don't even get to confirm it before I get this message.
it's like CWM have no access to the SD Card.

oh okay then well...
so you choose the "install zip from sdcard"?
not the "apply sdcard:update zip"
then it comes up with that error

yea, that's right.
alright im not quite sure of the problem but i have let someone know who is a developer of the aria know. attn1 is very well known he will fix your problem very quickly
It sounds to me like Clockworkmod was successfully installed.
Some things to try:
1) Boot up your phone normally and confirm that you are able to read/write from the SD card.
2) Try doing a Nandroid backup. When it does the backup it should write to the SD card. See if you get any errors during this process.
3) Try removing the SD card you have in the phone now and making sure it's seated properly.
4) If that doesn't fix your problem, try reformatting the SD card using this tool (specifically this tool, as it is designed to fix bad SD card formats) - http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/SDFormatterv3.0.zip. To use this tool you need to have an SD card reader on your computer (you can't do it through your phone)
5) If THAT doesn't work, try using a different SD card.
Good luck.

Genius !
formatted the SD card using the tool, but then the Aria said it's damaged, reformatted using the Phone, rebooted to recovery and CWM managed to see files, installed SU successfully.
Thanks alot !
You haven't by chance bought your SD card off eBay have you?I'm asking because there's a ton of b.s. SD cards on the net.I myself got one through bestofferbuy.looked okay unless you tested it or went over 1.7gb
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
I didn't bought it off ebay, but it was never a physical problem with the SD Card, since I took it off my SGS2 and moved it to my wife phone, I guess I needed to format it before I Tried to use it, what confused me is that I had no issues accessing the card from the PC or from the phoen itself (Astro for example), but the CWM didn't like it at all.
anyway, i'd suggest to read reviews and feedbacks about SD Cards, I got mine from newegg, it's a Patriot Class 10 card, a bit overkill, but cheap considering its high-end card.
I've followed the post by xboarder56. My phone has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted. I did not receive any errors when running the command: Fastboot flash boot [boot.img path]. I attempted to use QuikSense and BeastMod. I am using windows, but have access to linux if necessary (would prefer to finish this in windows though).
I believe the problem might be that I do not have an sdcard. Also, I did not see any directions relating to copying files TO the phone, and as such did not. Does loading the boot.img load these files onto the phone or is this something that I need to be doing (also, how do you do that? Guessing I will need linux for that since I don't have an sdcard and will need to write to the device while windows can't read it).
You need a SD card, but xboarder is working on a recovery that doesn't require one
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using XDA App
I thought it might be as much. I ordered an sdcard and it should be here tomorrow. Do I need to perform any additional steps (such as copying files somewhere) or are the steps I am already performing going to be enough?
xboarder said the new recovery works with internal memory as well so shouldn't be a card problem
So I got my SD card and copied all the files to the root of it and performed the flash again. Still nothing. Where should I be copying the files to?

Let's backtrack.
What recovery do you have currently?
Stock, xboarders recovery (identifiable with the X in the background) or the CWM Recovery?
What files did you put and where did you put them?
Name the files you downloaded them and where you put them (external sdcard, internal sdcard, in a folder, etc)
Are you able to flash anything?
Did you format your sdcard from the phone?
So yeah... answer those for us please.
If the files are on the root of your INTERNAL SDCARD then you need xboarder's recovery.
If the files are on the root of your EXTERNAL SDCARD then you need the standard clockwork recovery (download from ROM Manager)
hello,
I have a problem. I rooted my HOX+ with this all-in-one tool ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2066390 ) it was all ok. I also flashed ROM (this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067325 ) and kernel ( boot-BLADE-CM10.1-201302241749.img )
when my phone rebooted I discovered, I can't use my external memory. I rebooted into recovery and there was no folders or anything on my external memory. it looks like I mistakely formated ext partition. I can use telephone I can make calls, but if I plug the telephone to the computer, theres only SD card.
can it be fixed so I could use my ext mermory?
best regards
Upate: I don't know if it means smomething, but there are only basic apps. There's no google play and i can't login into gmail to transfer my phonebook. Any ideas how to reastablish memory for apps?
You will need to run a ruu
Since you formated your internal SD, you have no accessible data partition.

I tried to relock bootloader. the warning said FAILED (status read failed (Too many links)). On the top of bootlader it says RELOCKED, security warning. when I want to reboot, there's only inscription with HTC quietly briliant, and some red warning I cant read because it goes back to bootlader too fast, I even cant go to recovery. I unlocked the bootloader again.
wich RUU should I pick, since I'm from Europe and there are 3.

Thank you both
I have an s-off ReZound, tried to flash Vigor360 kernel prior to flashing the Vigor360 ROM. I screwed up, I guess, because I wiped system, data, cache (thinking I was going to then flash the ROM zip after flashing the kernel), then flashed the kernel zip. Now my hboot just constantly tries to run the update, and if I don't boot to the bootloader, the phone just stays at the HTC boot screen. I know I need to probably delete the files off the internal SD, but I can't get adb to recognize the device (i'm guessing since I have no rom to boot up into), so I don't know how to get into recovery to delete the zip file now.
How do I get out of this? Confused....
You can pull the card out and use a card reader on your pc to delete that PH98IMG and copy back the ROM if it's not still on there and put it back in the phone. Boot into bootloader and flash the ROM again. I think that will work.
Then after the ROM flashes just flash the kernel PH98IMG file without wiping.
That should do it.
If you don't have a card reader to use, there's a trick to sliding out the card just a little bit so the phone will boot, but I'm confusing myself trying to think of how it works since it allows you to bypass the PH98IMG file but then I don't see how you are supposed to read it to delete the file once booted. Might be able to find it by searching, I know it's been posted a few times.
Thanks for the reply

Thank you for trying to help me. Unfortunately, the zip is on the internal SD. I have removed the external SD card from this equation completely. If I had a way to read the internal SD, I could be in business, but the only way I know how to do that outside of the ROM is in recovery, which I don't know how to get into while in this state.
Wonder what would happen if you put a PH98ZIP of an RUU on the external and popped that in? I don't know which card it would read first but you might get lucky and if it reads the RUU you can run that and start fresh.
The global leak one at Android Police is a zip:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...ull-ruu-build-4-03-605-2-for-the-htc-rezound/
That appeared to work!

Flashed RUU from external SD, deleted the violating ph98zip, then reflashed my rom. It appears to function. Thanks again for the help!
Hi folks. I had an unrooted Rezound. I used the HTC Dev site to get it to an unlocked bootloader. I installed the Amon-Ra recovery and used it to flash the Infection JB ROM. Now it boots into the white HTC screen, goes slightly darker white and doesn't move. I can get back into recovery but after some wipes to clear up problems, now I'm stuck. It won't mount the internal or external SD cards. I *can* boot into fastboot but when I try to push a different ROM, I get the message that it doesn't an android info file.
I think I might be okay if I can use flashboot to flash maybe an ICS based ROM but I'm not sure. It seemed the phone originally didn't like the 32 gig SD card in there (one boot prior to the flashing it said damaged SD card). I popped it out, put it in a USB card reader and formatted it to fat32. Recovery threw an error when trying to access the SD card to do the flashing of the Infection ROM so I just flashed it from the copy I had placed on the internal SD. I'm guessing I might have to flash a standard boot.img from flashboot and try things again?.

Try using the usb mount to access sdcard. you may have to reformat one if you have an extra one. Or format it prior to putting it in your Rezound. As long as you can access recovery you are not bricked.

Provided I can gain access to the SD card, what would be my next step? Flash an ICS rom?
When trying to access the internal SD from recovery, I get this error-can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p37 or mmcblk0p38. Invalid argument. If I try to flash anything from the SD card, it says that it is opening the package, gives another line and then kicks me right back to the recovery menu. From there, trying to pull up the external card leads to a blank directory unless I yank the battery and reseat the card (or potentially just reseating the battery). Does anybody have any ideas?
fixit if you are s-0n
Look around xda, or google and find/download RUU 3.14.605.12, which should be an *.exe executable file.
Use a md5 checksum utility to confirm validity, boot into fastboot, and run this RUU.
It should make everything OK again.
@Napalm
Format the sd card using your recovery.
If you still have it in its current state open the rom's zip file, copy out boot.img, and fastboot flash it. Then attempt booting like normal.
Thanks Michael and hi Snuzz! After doing more searching, I did notice an extra step in one of the roms I used. It mentioned about flashing the boot.img in hboot if S-On was true. For my rezound, yeah it's still S-on for me. When I get back to my main PC, I'll see what I can do. I really hope I can come back from it as I'm really looking fwd to upgrading from my Tbolt. The Rezound has such a nice camera and processor, I'd prefer not to have to go another route.
Oh my god. This is so horribly screwy. The problem all along.....it ws the stupid 32 gig SD card I was using. I put Rage 2.3 on a 16 gig card, tried to flash from that one and it worked perfectly. No need for the RUU. I'm happy I didn't need it because of this warning.
This will not work if you used the HTC Bootloader unlock tool. Your device must be fully stock with a locked bootloader or you must have S-Off

On the 32 gig card, the zip flash would go by very fast and then basically reboot the recovery. From there, well the thread covers that. As of right now, Rage 2.3 has booted and asking for initial setup info. Since Rage is going to be my first ROM on this device, anybody have any thoughts on it or comments on another they like more?
