Standard answer to ten thousandth same question .
Original is original
not original is built from other sources
Custom kernel are you sure you understand kernel is not firmware .

Your question has been answered many times.. but still i'll answer it again.
The Original section is the place where the actual development takes place. Like kernel's, Hacks and Official Custom ROM'.
Everything else belongs in the Android development section.
Hope this helps.
Did you really mean 'rooted kernel' or did you flash "CF-Root" in Odin??
Sry cf root i have an s2 and flashed a rooted kernel i keep confusing thx for ur answer so i can flash anything in the original development and android development

Yes you can flash ROM's present in both the sections. Just make sure you follow the instructions.

Wrong thread. This is for the non G version of the galaxy S2. Plus, threads only for the purpose of "what's the best kernel" or "what's the best ROM" are discouraged. You'll have to try them yourself too see.

if u want a custom ICS rom then the same can be flashed with CWM.
but if its a stock ICS firmware then u have to do it with ODIN since the same (stock ICS) cannot be flashed thro CWM

hey bro,
Sorry I couldn't reply your PM.
1. It's very easy to go back to ICS
2. It can be done via CWM recovery but you will need a custom stock based ICS ROM,
Check Android development section, once you find the one you like, let me know.
I'll post the instructions about flashing it.

There are many jellybean ROM out there, just try them. If you don't like one, flash another one.
asking for best ROM is forbidden on XDA. Read the rules next time before posting.

1. You need ROOT access, and CWM recovery to flash the jelly bean Roms.
2. Visit here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531244
All links to the jelly bean Roms for galaxy SII, GT I9100, can be found there.

I'm guessing this link will be helpful. It's an index of all kind of roms for the S2. I personally use the Resurrection Remix 2.6.1 and 3.0.6 with a dual boot (DorimanX kernel).

Just out of curiosity... Why do you think Rootbox is the best? I for one am waiting until the AOKP team has added more options and optimization to their JB roms. Until they have done that, I will stay with RR 2.6.1 (ICS). In the meantime I will keep trying their JB roms in my dualboot setting.
U mean to say jb roms are not stable till yet
So which ics version are u using now 4.0.3 or 4.0.4
Please provide the link
And also does ur phn hang or lag now
Any bug in the rom please tell

There is nothing like best ROM. Everybody will have their own best ROM.
The issue about best ROM is always very subjective.
All I know is, there are good ROMs out there.
PS: I strongly believe if this kind of discussion should not continue on this thread, the moderator might close it down within the next few hours
Kk i am not asking any one for best rom
All i want is a bug free rom with users review. No harsh feelings for any developer

I'm not saying these roms are not stable. I said that I'd prefer a rom with more optimizations and functionality. JB is stil under heavy development. I will provide you the links, but I suggest you'd put a little more effort in searching throughout XDA.
I'm on Resurrection Remix 2.6.1 (Android 4.0.4)
and
Resurrection Remix 3.0.6 (Android 4.1.1 if I'm not mistaken).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854
You'll have to search that thread for the download links.
If you want the most stable and bugfree experience, then flash a ICS based Rom. If you want to experiment, then you can flash a JB Rom, which you can also use as a daily driver by now (at least the latest CM 10 nightlies)
If you want to have the most customizations then Flash an AOKP based Rom like the Resurrection Remix 2.6.1 Rom which is ICS based. Since 3.0 it`s JB based however.
If you just want the vanilla Android experience without too much settings then you can of course try the famous Cyanogenmod 9 Rom, which is also great.
It took me quite a while to figure out what`s the best Rom for me. I settled for Resurrection Remix 2.6.1
In the end it`s up to you and what you like, that`s why there is no such thing as "the best Rom"
I want to know if Siyah 1.9.1 kernel is compatible with CyanogenMod 10.2 (4.3 Android).
I've got Android 4.1.2
Thanks in advance
Nope. Try googy-max or devil

Usually it will overwrite the old kernel when you flash a new one.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
So I have only to download one of those kernels and flash it, right?
