Hello,
Can someone tell me which other phones than Google Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and LG Nexus 4, has the original Android?
I saw a lot of phones that I don't know anything about them, like Huawei or other asian models.
I want to buy one without any added software from the manufacturers and hopefully to receive the new official updates as soon as possible.
Thank you.
The Nexus line (the phones you already mentioned, and a couple way older devices) comes with untoched, stock android. However, you could always choose to get any popular phone, and put a custom rom on it. That means you'll pick a version of android to put onto your device. A good custom rom to put onto your device would be CyanogenMod. It comes with no bloatware (added apps by the manufacturer), and if you dislike any app that comes with it, you'll just be able to uninstall it. CyanogenMod updates usually a couple of months after the official new version of android has been released, and from my experience that's always way faster than waiting for the manufacturer's version.
So, you could just get a nexus-device, which'll have the latest updates as soon as they're available and come with pure android without bloatware. Or, if you prefer having another phone, you could see which devices are supported by your custom rom of choice, buy the device and put the custom version of android on it.

can anybody feed me back about this subject...can we flash an android firmware on any phone , like we know there is some works about flashing android on nokia n9...i wana know if it is related on the processor and if there is a possibility to flash an android on LG BL40 ??
Well, I am a mod for an Italian forum focused on Nokia n900, that is the ancestor of Nokia n9 and I have been following for a couple of years the disappointing nitdroid project. I mean that, even the bootloader of Nokia n900 was absolutely unlocked (never been locked) in 2 years or even longer the devs were not able to get working phone module, camera and GPS.
N900 nowadays runs even ics, but with such restrictions!
The situation for Nokia n9 is a bit better. but it essentially depends on the availability of open source drivers.
So, I don't know your phone, but running a full working android is not so simple, if it hasn't been shipped by the manufacturer.
Simply put, no. You cant flash any ROM on any Android phone. The ROM has important things like drivers, frameworks, etc that only work with the phone it was built for.
Hi,
I am thinking about buying a GP90 LCD projector, which comes in two flavors: The default version with Android 4.4 preinstalled, and a cheaper version with no Android preinstalled.
Can someone help me understand what my options are with the cheaper version? Am I right that it would be either risky or impossible to install some "general" Android version on the projector, so that most likely I'd have to get the stock version (which I probably won't be able to obtain anywhere) or install a custom ROM that has been tailored to suit this exact device (which probably doesn't exist)?
Thanks!
I am looking to root my Galaxy View so that I can upgrade to a newer version of Android and had a couple of questions. What version can I update to without running into problems and will updating to a newer OS allow me to install apps that were not compatible before such as Teams? This is my first time rooting a device since my original Motorola Droid and much has changed it seems. Thanks for any help.
Idk why Samsung wouldn't continue to support their largest device on the market. Here's an idea why don't the apps just continue to support all devices they did use at one time. They already have the os so just but it back on the server like the current os is. So it's the app writers that's making devices obsolete.
Hi,
My question is as the subject? Is there any good guides for making a rog phone version 1 with android 9 to be a classified as a secured phone.
Mostly functions that is not necessery will be removed on the phone. Is there any roms you can get tips on? This is testing so, is there any rom that is compatible to Asus rog phone version 1?
Newest stock rom is installed and boot loader is open. Im not the best person at phones and that but can get a given hand when its needed. But im asking you fellows first to choose a custom rom or OS.
The source code and kernel are open to download on asus website maybe we can get a dev or someone can take a crack at making a custom Ron maybe even get 10 . I see no reason other then the phone not being as popular
The Xperia Z2 is a great phone, though it is no longer my primary. I still would like to use a few apps on it. They no longer update and I'm assuming it's because the ROM is so old. It's running a Cyanogenmod build based on Android 5!
Questions:
How do you know which versions of Android an app that is in the Play Store is compatible with? What is the oldest version of Android that most apps still support? I'm guessing it's not 5.
Coming from Cyanogenmod, what's the next logical update? Stabability is the most important to me. Most of the time the phone is not even connected to the internet and doesn't have a SIM.
