I have no stock rom anymore, so I could not confirm if it works. At least it sounds plausible.
lolz, u noob
LOL at second post
Maybe if look in framework res folder and find the background image, you can replace it with your own (remember to keep the same file name and resolution). Sounds kinda difficult though.

change \res\drawable mdpi\semc_bg.png in framework-res.apk
No longer supporting this share as I have made the changes to apps from the S Advance.
Hi there, I searched for a modded mms/sms that had no limits to length of sms or number of people I could send to. I finally found working stock SecMms thanks to developer extralife. His thread is here. Check it out and give him thanks for his work. They were done for SIII but work well in my phone. I have XXLQ4 JB 4.1.2 but these should work in the other JB on S Advance. Just make sure you back up your original.
First is with stock android smilies:
NoLimitSecMmsStockSmilies
Second is with alternate smilies:
NoLimitSecMmsAltSmilies
You should backup your SecMms.apk in the system/app folder before installing these to be safe. These are installed by CWM or TWRP. I tested the installs with TWRP and they worked, so should work with CWM. Remember do not boot directly to CWM, you'll get stuck there. After you install, don't reboot right away. Do a wipe of the Dalvik cache first then boot your phone. Android will optimize your apps so be patient.
If by chance you use this in your custom rom, please give credit and link to this in your op.

Hi there, I searched for a modded mms/sms that had no limits to length of sms or number of people I could send to. I found them in the I9000 themes forum from Difusal . He did all the major modding on these.
Here is his thread:Modded SMS thread Go there and see all he has done, quite impressive.
They work on my S advance fine but the text was too small for me so I changed the size in messages to his latest mod, Mms_inverted_tw-bubbles_avatars_v1.4. With his permission I share it here.
You need to rename your SecMms.apk to backup or something and if you are still odexed, rename the SecMms.odex as well, then with your favorite explorer paste this mms.apk into system/apps and set the proper permissions. Reboot your phone and you will find it in your apps drawer where you can put it back into your dock. No thanks needed LOL just hope you like it.
If there is someone really smart who can make it a flashable zip that does the renaming of files, and puts the mms.apk into system/apps, please do as I am sure it would make things easier for people. Now that we have CWM recovery for our phones thanks to varun.chitre15 and his Thunderstruck 2.5 kernel.

I found some alternate modded Secmms.apk's with CWM flashables and push versions at this link:
Stock modded SecMms
They are for galaxy Note II but it works on my phone. Only bugs are that the <3 doesn't show the heart smilie properly and dev is aware of it and seeking a fix also the themed one doesn't show the different themes on my phone at least. So I am just using the stock version. Make sure to thank the dev for them...

Visible: http://oi44.tinypic.com/2urnh2g.jpg

The words suggestions depend of the stock keyboard not of framework-res.apk bro.

No, I tried with original keyboard app zip file flashing with CWM but, only Keyboard app changed. The problem stems from a lack of framework-res file content.
I tried stock framework-res.apk and the suggestions of words are appeared. Than I flashed custom framework-res.apk, this things gone (case & suggestions).

Decompile both and examine any text color codes, or decompile the keyboard and try editing that instead.

No. What you will want to do is edit the images in SystemUI_Theme_<Black/Black_Gradation/White/White_Gradation>.apk. Those apks are located in /system/app/. Or you can select a nice premade apk from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/themes-apps/softkeys-update-t2804742

That would have been nice to know...
Edit the nav images in /res/drawable-xhdpi/. They start with ic_sysbar_xxxx.png. EX: ic_sysbar_back.png.
If you are on a Lollipop AOSP ROM ask someone else.
Edit: for this phone you probably need to copy those same images to drawable-xxhdpi.
