The handy bar at the bottom shows that about 250MB is being used by apps and other running services, about 160MB is free. What on Earth is taking it all up?
I have been trying to find out why my Maxx has been stuttering since the update to ICS (yes I have FDRd twice and cleared the cache), could this be the problem? And if so, what's causing it?
Would getting a GSM patch to JB help? (It's a UK XT910)

If you're referring to the calling app that appeared when I just Googled it, nope, never had it. And I made sure to test the phone before I installed any applications at all after a FDR and it was the same as it is now, so it's not an app doing it.

From what i know, it is normal, that amount of ram is ok. However If you want more ram available, try the V6 Supercharger, it allows you to set how much free ram you want, making the phone faster..... Raising the free ram will make the system autokill the background memory consuming apps, but if it is too high, it will affect multitasking....

Just been using my phone, haven't done much, only app I just activated was Samsung apps, nothing else.
Just been browsing etc.
Any ideas where these came from?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, these apps do not appear in the installed apps list or titanium?

This has happened to me before after downloading a game app....flooded me with crap exactly like that. Don't think it's spyware tho. I always just deleted immediately and never had a prob.

The only apps on the screen that are mine are xda and my camera and the search bar and clock, the ones down the bottom are also mine, the other four, "new message" "Droid apps" "slots" and "cab app" I did not install. Its the first time in I don't know how many years I've seen this happen.

They may presumably be app or game addons. Do you have any apps or games that constantly advertise they're products? They may automatically download they apps..
I'm assuming.. I have never seen this happen before..

I was over in the hardware hacking forums and came across a forum where this guy wanted to know if it was possible to upgrade his ram...I have a question..is there a ram hack for our device..you know our device has 512mb's of ram but the UI under settings>about phone says 420..I know the GPU uses that difference so is it possible that we can use a swap portion to increase the performance of our device?

If its for a tablet swapper root because it lets you create a swap file with more than 256mb, swapper2 only let 256mb max.
And you need root for both.

Hello guys,
I'm in quite a fix at the moment. My SGS3 seems to run duplicate processes for the same app and is causing RAM management issues. Every app has 2 same processes running & double RAM being consumed. The battery performance has also degraded. I'm attaching a screenshot for your reference.
ROM: Stock DDLH1
Kernel: SiyahKernel 1.5.3 (gokhanmoral)

that is odd.. i have not experience that before. have you tried using another app for RAM management?
I don't use any app for RAM management. Even in Android Assisstant I have kept the "auto boost" feature off. This kinda thing happens every second day and I have no other option than to reboot.

Really digging this phone, and the stock rom. Had it for 4 days. Android OS uses 200~mb data each day. Can anyone confirm that LG is botnet/stealing metadata?

The part of the code everyone is referring too has nothing to do with LG.
It is simply a part of the MeetMe apps reporting abuse function. Go get the MeetMe app, go to any persons profile, and try to report them. That EXACT list will come up.

What does your RAM consumption look like on the ROM that you guys are using? Mine is almost always 280 MB+ and as you guys know we only have 368/369 MB of RAM. What ROM or methods do you guys use to keep your RAM use at a minimum? CM7 had the best RAM conservation for me (165-220 on average) but I want to use a ROM that is 4.1+ while still being able to use apps that take up a lot of ram smoothly.
Edit; Added Screenshot

This is my point. When all my recent apps are cleared, and I've closed the running apps, Im always using 280MB+

I'm using slimrom and I tweaked the ram performance settings and I don't have quite such an issue.

Im not sure which ROM im using at the current moment. But its the only one thats has runwithout a single issue whatsoever for over 2 months. So its a keeper. But mines always about 50-90 mb free. I dont ever mess with the ram because thats when I do run into a problem. Mostly mine is taken up by Settings or other system controls. So if you could elaborate which settings you are using. I also notice that if my SD card gets full then the phone wil run slow as well.
