Hi XDA! I wanted to ask. My galaxy s2 charger isn't working well. It doesn't charge well because of the cable. I wanted to ask can I us HTC one v or HTC chacha charger to charge my galaxy s2 i9100. Is it OK to use one of these chargers without hurting the battery or the phone.
These are the specification of the chargers. Thanks.
Samsung Galaxy S2
Input:100-240V~50-60Hz 0.15A
Output:5.0V=0.7A

I seem to be having some weird charging issues.
On the official samsung charger which came with the phone it won't charge at all. Plug it in and does nothing.
If I use the galaxy S III charger it charges very very slowly.
With the HTC charger it seems to charge like normal.
It's very weird and don't know how to troubleshoot this. There's no overvoltage errors with the battery and it works fine plugged into the computer. So I don't think the usb flex is faulty. I switched batteries with another SII and it's the same thing.
Then obviously get a new S2 charger.
Didn't you read. I've tried 3 different chargers

Yes I did read, but you obviously didnt!
I said get a new "S2" charger. Using other non-official chargers will result in varying results.

The S2 charger works fine with the other S2 though. It's just with my phone
well in that case maybe theres a problem in ur usb charging flex cable but that occurs wen u have a flashing battery icon on top righ cornoer battery status shows over voltage at charging and ur phn restarts wen u power it off.. if u dnt find these things it might be something else then
I don't have any of those issues. I had that before so I replaced the usb flex. This one is about 4 months old which is currently in my phone

And have you tried the charger on yours from this other S2?
Yes I've tried from both, and an s3 its only mine which doesn't work. I'm using the HTC charger atm and that seems to charge it fine. I'm really stumped to what wrong with it

hello guys,
today i purchased 2nd hand s3 of my friend. but he did not provide me charger as it was not available wid him.
till then i am charging it with my neo v charger!
is it safe??
thanks.
Well, theoretically it will work..
It must actually..
But one of my friends said he had a heat up problem on his galaxy note with Sony charger..
His phone was heated up to 55°C..
Not once or twice.. but around 10-15 times..
Check once.. if this is what happens, go buy a USB cable and charge it with your computer.. its simple..

Microusb is the standard for most phone manufacturers so most will work. I have a desire, arc s, galaxy s3, galaxy note, optimus chargers which all work well on my s3

Hi everyone
I have a little problem i just bought a new charger cuz old one's cable was cutted near microusb jack
Charger works good but now touchscreen dont works as it should
Charger specs are clearly visible in attached pics
It wasn't cheap and case have genuine samsung logo
Maybe it doesnt matter but im using revolution rom with its own kernel

I have not seen similar chargers from samsung in my retail stores but that may not mean anything since these things change overseas apparently. All I can say is that I had similar problems with chargers that were not original that provided less current than the phone needed to charge, and the behavior was similar to what you said.
I don't know if you can, but I would test the power output of the charger you have with a multimeter.
Good luck.
Unfortunately i dont have a multimeter

I cant use my phone and charge at the same time it discharges and my battery life is not too good.
Is this because my battery is more than a year old ? If it is I would like to know so I can buy a new battery
If it isnt then I wouldnt like to waste money on buying a new battery

Try another battery .

Have you tried Greenify?

Also I use a iPhone wall adapter with a blackberry usb cable I lost my charger maybe thats the reason it doesn't charge properly
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
if the battery drain is alright when the phone is not charging, you should maybe first try to use another charging method! I had exactly the same problem even with original samsung usb cable. I changed it to an older samsung charging cable (galaxy ace) and everything worked perfect again.
Good luck!
Ok thanks ill grab another charger and see if it makes a difference

New charger definitely! Watch out for the output of the charger, should be in the same range as your original!
Okay its confirmed my charger was too weak im currently charging using a blackberry charger for q5 and its fast as lighting no problem with using the phone and the battery draining when plugged in
So if anyone has the same problem its due to the charger

I am using a charger which is came with the mobile. Bt compare with galaxy s4 charger my charger charge time is too slow.. Is it doesn't matter if i keep using galaxy s4 charger..
Original s3 charger output voltage 5V-1A
Galaxy s4 charger output voltage 5V-2A
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
S3 and S4 are different phones, if you want S4 charging times then buy an S4. Otherwise there are many threads on slow S3 charging, search and read for likely solutions.

Flash Boeffla kernel and install Boeffla ConfigV2 app. Open the Boeffla ConfigV2 app and go to the Miscellaneous tab and increase the charging rate to a value greater than 1100mAh coz stock default charging rate is 1100mAh. But everything depends on the capacity of the charger. Here is the thread to Boeffla kernel:

Or, if S4 charger satisfies you just buy a S4 charger. Problem solved.
