[Q] Opening Screen lock lag with Omega Rom V18 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am Using a Galaxy S2 with Omega Rom V18.
Sometimes when i want to unlock my phone from the pattern screen lock, it seems as it having a lag...
I can't draw my pattern to unlock the phone, I need to wait about 5~10 second till the phone will let me draw the pattern.
I noticed that when this lag appear my menu and & return buttons are not lighted and I am not able to draw for a few sec, when the light on those buttons is back up I am able to draw and open my phone.
Any one else having this problem or any one can help me fix this?
Thank you.

It's a bit long..
Try two things:
1) just a reflash without wipe
2) flash another Kernel and see what happens

This is a known bug (among various others) with the leaked JB rom and the roms that are based on it.
To solve this and some others and also improve battery you should flash Jeboo kernel.

[Q] Screen off but won't wake, Why?

Hello SGS2 users! Has anyone experienced this problem before?
I was originally running VK 5.1.2 without a problem then I flashed RR 2.5.3; didn't really like the theme then I came across PFittech ROM GTX which I thought "Wow!".
After flashing, I noticed that when the screen went off and locked, it won't wake and I need to pull battery and reboot.
As you may know that is extremely inconvenient so I flashed stock rom and went back to VK 5.1.2 but this hasn't stopped the problem
I have done all the wipes (cache, dalvik, factory/data and format system!

Ur having SOD, sleep of death... when ur phone enters deepsleep it wont get up.
this is frequently related with UV, or poor bus freq.
u should flash a kernel cleaner like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738
or any other. then u have to flash a new kernal.
Thanks mate! Will try this now
Still there
Firstly, I flashed stock firmware, then I flashed cf-root. Went into recovery and done a full wipe and flashed the script.
I done another wipe then installed VK Rom (I have never had a problem with this) and left the phone for 30 secs on screen off and it came back.
What should I do next?
Should I check all settings for CPU and GPU? Revert them to standard? I don't touch those settings as I don't have a great knowledge of changing volts and clock speeds.
Maybe you could let it on stock (unrooted) and see if it happens again...

You can just wipe data, dalvic and cache and try salmanrom its the best I promise, you will never go back to another aokp rom!

I flashed the stock LPB firmware and used it for a full day and I never experience any SoD. Tried a few custom roms and still having the error.
Although there may seem there is nothing wrong with the phone, I have never had a problem with any roms I use. All the roms I am trying are previous downloads that have worked successfully so I doubt there is any corruption.
I won't be giving up and I will be trying everything and anything... the now I am going to try Gingerbread based roms and see if I still get the error. If anyone else has any more ideas please tell me.

Can i suggest u to use rootbox ics?? Is almost flawless and i thinkbu wont have any problem
If u still getting sod u could try giving a little more voltage to ur cpu or bus...if u use fluxi with this rom is very easy to do that

Im a first time root user i flashed RR 2.5.3 with fluxi kernel over my stock ics its running very smoth and had no problem so far
You might need to check your cpu frequency i read her that if it was set to less than 200Mhz you might have the sleep of death issue

I always do a full wipe but today I've seen something unusual.
Kernel Panic Upload Mode came up when the phone was off?
I am flashing back to GB and see if any SoD appear.
Mate, there is something wierd with ur phone...
There sure is.. I am running KI3 GB with CF Root and not received any SoD. Seems to be only on custom roms?
Good news! I fixed it!
What I did:
First of all, I had an extended battery and I swapped it for the old battery (Because of case with stand it won't fit)
Flashed stock GB (XXKI3)
Flashed CF-Root KI3
Full Wipe (Cache, Factory/Data, Dalvik, Battery stats)
Format System
Flashed Kernel Cleaner
Flashed VK 5.1.2
Flashed Siyah 3.3.2
So after doing all this, the SoD has gone. So it must be a problem with Fluxi on my device.
I may be wrong but after doing this the problem stopped and I am happy again
So thank you to you all who tried to help!
I have the same problem, except my SOD also has high battery drain even though the phone is pretty much useless. Very annoying when you are relying on the alarm clock. Did you also notice high battery drain?
I found it happened on Thebyani 4.3, not on 4.4, and now it happened on 4.5. Im hoping the kernel cleaner and the latest Siyah kernel will fix it. Any kernels you guys recommend if it still happens?

Q: could u ever tryed giving some more voltage to cpu in fluxi?
I had a high battery drain already abd i bought a new extended battery. I am charging the device the now and it has heated but i took it off and turn it off to cool. I am going to recalibrate the battey
Try doing what I did to see if it helps.
Flash a stock unrooted firmare and see if you still get SoD
Ive been using my phone since i posted and not had one SoD.
Do you mess with your freqs? Try keeping them to basic

Touch screen! Help please

I have problem with touch screen, when it is in direct sunlight or any strong light, it becomes unresponsive for 1or 2 minutes. This happens when I lock, so it means in lock screen I can not touch anything its not responding for few minutes. And what is most important, this problem is since I updated to ICS,in 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 also. But if I flash back to GB 2.3.6 I dont have this problem and it works perfect. And I heard a lot people having this problem, did some one found solution, as it is working in GB so it is not hardware problem.
I am really thankfully if anyone can help me.

Well first I tried in stock rom 4.0.3 and now also 4.0.4, and for this custom ROMs like cm9 cm10, I did as per instructions wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, than flash, after that again wipe data/cache.

since you are using i9100g, I might not be able to recommend you a custom kernel. This kind off touch screen issues has been fixed in our own kernels.
Try this:
- boot to CWM recovery
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- flash your kernel of choice again
- fix permissions
- reboot phone

i experienced this before on my old Galaxy S, try going on for other CustomROMS and kernels..
But really I don't understand, my brother has also i9100g but he don't have this problem, I tested his phone in stock and in custom roms, I let it in sunlight for 10-15 minutes. But mine for 1-2 minutes immediately becomes unresponsive. I have tested all roms and kernels for i9100g and always I did wipe data, cache, dalvik cache but the problem is still present. Sometimes I say its hardware problem, but if I flash gb stock or any custom rom in gb, I can let phone in sunlight for 10-20 minutes without problem. Really its confusing me. If you guys will help me fix this problem I would be really really thankful as I am tired of this

then go for gingerbread if you don't mind.. if your phone is still on warranty, then you can send it back to the service center ASAP if not, you can also spend some money to get it fixed (it won't be cheap, trust me).. but if you wanna save some cash on it, you can stick to GB if that's what's doing you good on your problem..
hope you get it all sorted out
That's the problem that I don't have warranty. But really in GB you don't have nothing ICS is much better also so many custom roms and kernels for ICS. The fact that is working fine in gb and its not hardware problem is killing me. It must be a way to fix

[Q] WiFi Issue in Both Stock ICS Rom and CM9, Please help.

Hi all,
I have been having problem since I updated my Galaxy S2 Gt-i9100 (India) to official ICS. Wifi is not working anymore and whenever i try to switch ON Wifi from notification bar the toggle button freezes (something like pale annoying green) and Wifi never gets switched ON. Then i thought moving to Custom ROM will help but again with CM9 Wifi is not getting ON at all.
Please guys help me, I know you are the best one out there. What can be the problem? Any possible solution? I heard it was solved in Siyah Kernel?

It sounds like a hardware problem as CM9 is a good rom with hardly any problems! I suggest trying a few other roms and also, try changing the kernel. I used to have that problem but after flashing siyah, problem=solved!

[Q] Galaxy S2 Wifi Issue

Hello!
I'm sorry if this is a repeated thread.
I'm on Jelly Bean stock firmware I9100XWLSK (4.1.2) (Indian version) rooted. Everything is fine except that I am not able to turn on wifi since last week (Its becomes dull green and then gets grey; Refer Screenshot).
There was a similar problem when I was on ICS (when wifi toggle switch used to hang), but it was solved by one of the several tweaks suggested for the problem..e.g. delete connection and put the phone in airplane mode etc. etc.
But this time none of these worked. The wifi would just won't turn on. S2 without wifi is of no use to me.
I've tried every thing; Flashed stock GB 2.3.6 & JB 4.1.2 I9100XWLST, Did factory reset, wiped cache data, etc etc.
I'm tired now, this problem is being faced by many others so I request you all masters of andriod to take the matter seriously and come out with a solution please.
Further more when i use USSD codes such as *#*#526#*#* or *232339# WLAN Test code, nothing happens, these codes do not work on my 4.1.2 S2.
Many Thanx & Regards.
PS: Find the attached screenshots.
Try a custom kernel (pick any one you want). WiFi drivers are in the kernel, so therein probably lies your problem.

Bro I tried the siyah kernel but the wifi still doesnt turn on...
Please advise.
I have the same problem as khani245 only I had originally NeatRom XWLSS on my phone and worked well no problems until I went o/s for a couple of weeks and I changed sims and I couldn't get wifi so I had a Samsung guy look at it and to fix he put GB 2.36 and it worked sort of but when I got home and changed back to my recent NeatRom I couldn't even get the green ticks in the wifi settings. I have gon back to GB2.3.4 cleared everything installed stock rom and now get the green wifi ticks but wifi is continually searching for any connection but can't even find my modem/router 4` away. There is a problem and it seems to be a software problem.

[Q] wanamlite freezing after update

Hi, I recently updated my phone (i9300) from custom ROM wanamlite 6.8 to 7.3, and also updated the kernel to Adam 3.0, and now im facing some problems
1) It takes 4-5 seconds for the screen to wake up after pressing unlock.
2) every time I play music, the phone becomes very sluggish and the music skips so much to the point that I can't recognize which song is playing.
I really love this ROM and would love to continue using this version, but I need to gets these things fixed. Pls help!

Did you do a clean install? I know you upgraded but one of the first things to do if you start having problems after a flash is do a clean install

Yes I wiped all data (after a backup) wipe cache, dalvik cache.
I finally got frustrated n reflashed the ROM ( without wiping data) but not the kernel. The rom has stock kernel. I think there is an improvement. Will post the outcome.
Thanks for replying :cyclops:
I've been using the phone on stock kernel for 2 days now. There is definitely an improvement. The phone isn't freezing at all. The music might skip once maybe in half an hour ( I can live with that ). If anyone is facing the same problem I suggest you switch to stock kernel. Oh and the battery life rocks.
