How do I tell if I have the ota or not? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Well?

Look at what version you have in settings>about. I605VRALJB is the stock before the OTA.

You could flash stock gingerbread and let Kies update you to ICS.
Otherwise, flash stock + rooted and use superSU to unroot.

Yes. The file is tar.md5 and is odin flashable as is. The md5 extension means Odin will verify file integrity before flashing. Use any version of Odin as far as I know, but I think version 1.85 was the most common one when our phone came out. Put the file in the pda slot. Have you ever used stand alone Odin?
stock but it was also illegally sim unlocked

If the replacement phone has ICS 4.0.4, that's not gonna do you any good. You need 4.0.3, and you need to be able to make sure it doesn't auto-update to 4.0.4. 4.0.4 is DEFINITELY what causes the SOD.

[Q] Dm server software update

I just received a software update from AT&T this morning. I am not sure what the update was for and I cannot find anything on the net about an update going out. The about phone screen shows :
Model number : SAMSUNG-SGH-I717
Android version : 4.0.4
Baseband version : I717UMCB4
Kernel version : 3.0.8
Build number : IIM76D.UCMB4
Any ideas what this update was for?
I got it too but it said it was interrupted and couldnt complete it, so I did a manual update and it said there were no updates. WTF?

My baseband is UCLF6 and I am being prompted as well. It downloads and wants to reset but takes me into my cwm recovery and I'm not sure what to do but reboot from there.

GN-N7005 GALAXY NOTE LTE/ Latest ICS UPDATE

This is the Latest update for the above. works with our at&t Note.
I flashed it using http://samsung-updates.com/Odin307.zip
1. put your phone in Download Mode. Plug your device to your computer, open Odin 3.0.7 click on PDA and find the tar file.
Make sure you let Odin finish flashing. Only unplug your device when Odin gives you a message saying, PASS.
Now reboot your phone to recovery and wipe data and reboot.
Good luck

It should work. Its the Hong Kong unit. Identical to i717. I will try soon as I get home.
Anyone know if it erases root and recovery?

It does work with our Note. In my opinion, it's a lot smoother but you be the judge of that if you flash it.
As for root, yes it will delete Root but you can gain root easy as 1 2 3.
Charging my extra battery now.

Confirmed it works just fine. Does seem smooth. Oh, nice updated Odin too.
I installed this rom and my data wasn't working. For anyone else having this issue I posted the apn screenshot from my phone.
Why would you wanna flash the hong kong version when you can just check for updates over the air. If youre on UCLF6 stock, It should prompt you for an update to UCMB4 OTA.

Att only updated the modem. Which I did but att stock rom feels to me very lagy. To me N7005 rom is way smoother.

Any other source for this file?
Also, any other list of stock ROMs for the i717?
Still looking for a great ROM to run on mine. Tried the newer batches of CM, PA, and others, and get halts and reboots.

Baseband version?

My current baseband is the i605vrall4 and im running beans 19....does this need to be updated to the newest vramc3 or is it fine running vrall4?? If I need to update could someone give me instructions on how to do this? Thanks
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
The latest is VRAMC3...but the changes were minor and if you have no issues on VRALL3 you don't necessarily need to update it. If you want to anyway you just need to flash the new modem in recovery. Search for Vramc3 and you will get the link to download it. You could also wait and flash it whenever build 20 comes out and you flash that...two birds, one stone.

Ok so im currently running beans 19....so in order to flash vramc3 do I just go into twrp and click install and find the vramc3 file or how do I do it?!?

Yep, that's it. Flash in recovery just like you did with the ROM. But if you aren't having any issues you could also wait for your next ROM flash. Just flash the ROM first, and then the modem. Either way...just don't expect anything major to change with VRAMC3, I sure didn't notice anything.
Whats the newest baseband out?
All my Note 2s are using old Roms ive had radio issues using lollipop. Just wanted to make sure my baseband is current.
Reason being is everytime I goto Canada now from the US I gotta switch to GSM instead of CDMA to get service. It used to be okay leaving it on CDMA.
Also I get nothing using the Global selection in the US or Canada…
Currently using i605VRALLJB

Hello,
I have flashed the stock version of Sprint TouchWiz Jelly Bean 4.3 (N900PVPUBMJ4) DeOdex Rom and flashed the MJ4 update fix as well. But, unfortunately I am not able to get my Baseband version updated. Its still stuck on N900PVPUMBMI3. I have flashed it using TWRP Manager.
You help will be appreciated!
