A Nand means a Nandroid backup! Which is taken through cwm with the help of
'backup 'option so that incase anything goes wrong, you can restore to normal!

You need to be rooted, if you don't have root look in the stickies for the guides on how to get root.
If you are rooted then you need to install cwm recovery which is available in the dev section on my arc v5 works best.
You then need to download the file to your sd card.
power down the phone then restart the phone but once you see Sony logo start pressing the back button or volume buttons constantly.
When you get to recovery menu select the install custom zip by using the menu key to move down the menu and pressing the home key to select look for file you downloaded and select install reboot phone and it should work.
as precaution do a full backup from within the recovery, incase it should go wrong, you can then restore system back to normal
Hope this has helped

Links to download are in the 1 st post I can only get v5 to work on my arc so would suggest using that as a precaution.

you did it wrong also with your playstore
Dear all, my phone's internal apps such as the play store, calendar, message, widgets & etc are stopped functioning after I install the Wave Screen Lock via the CWM recovery. After my phone is restarted, it shows that "Unfortunately, Calendar is stopped working!". So, how am I solve this problem?? Please guide and help me! Thanks..
did you do nandroid backup before installing it? if yes, just restore it. If not, remember next time to backup your data before installing anything thru CWM. Have you clear dalvik cache on CWM?
It might be possible to undo the mod even if you don't have a nandroid backup. Which Rom are you using? Do you have that Rom zip? (if not having, download it) and which lockscreen mod you used? Paste the link or upload the mod here.

You just installed an inappropriate mod for your device... If you have nandroid backup just restore it...
Otherwise flash your ROM again with full wipe(leave sd card out of wipe)
And don't panic... It's normal 'causality'

See if you have wiped your data, den there is no chance that it can be brought back...
So instead i would say that you should flash a new rom and get your phone rooted.
Hello together!
After many ROM and Software tryouts I have the feeling, that the memory of my phone has become filled with non-used app-data etc....
How can I safely remove all this stuff? Is there a way, e.g. when flashing a new firmware, to remove all non-system files?
Is it safe to simply format all visible partitions from within CMW?
Thanks a lot for hints,
Guntram

I think yes, but this will delete every app and system won't boot up. You should reflash Rom if you don't want to have unnecessary apps.

Factory Reset will only delete you data. You have to format your sd-card for example in CWM - mounts and storage - format /sdcard

It's not about the apps. I want to get rid of all the files, that have been created by apps and left behind even after flashing new ROM (being tft or zip from CWM)!

I can't find a corresponding option in Settings (you mean settings of running android, don't you?) ? I am on CM9 - I only find Factory Reset...
If I plan to reflash using FlashTool, I can format /sdcard and e.g. /system? Or will /system be formatted anyways?

if you want to free your phone memory, then just do a factory reset.

if you want to free your sdcard mem, then do a back up of what ever things you needed and format it..
