I am running a nightly version of cyanogen and I'm having issues connecting to Wi-Fi. I've flashed komodo 1.8 with the voltage tweaks. I tried the stable version with the same effect. It's there a fix?

When I had issues with WiFi on aosp ROMs it was my att modems fault. I set up a wireless bridge and bam everything worked. I didn't think it was my att 2wire modem because everything else connected fine.

Thanks I'll try that. I am on AT&T also.

Try setting the frequency band to 2.4Ghz

I didn't want to believe it was my 2wire modem but I already had a wireless access point on the way because my laptop had trouble connecting and as soon as I set up the wireless bridge I connected my phone to the bridge with no problem. I couldn't get my evo to connect to my 2wire even when I had it right next to the damn thing. It drove me nuts lol

Hi this worked for me. I'm stock and experienced connection issues with my wifi...sitting 2 feet from the router!!! Never had any problems connecting anything via wifi b4.
Go to settings>>wifi>>menu>>advanced. in the advanced section there is a radio button to enable Best Wi-Fi performance. Once activated I had no more connection problems.
Hope this helps.
Not sure if this might help but I changed WiFi to 2.4 GHz and like above best WiFi per. So far good

I did this and it worked for me briefly but then reverted to "authenticating" and then telling me it is the wrong access key for the network. I don't understand why it's doing this but at least for me it seems to be a 1.22 based problem as everything I've run with the prior firmware has been fine....

Your problem is different. Mine was dropping WiFi signal and then self reconnecting. Not anymore though. Your problem I have not came across. Have u tired running the ruu and reset your router?

I've reset the router multiple time and even gave my EVO a static ip to see if that would work. I guess I'll ruu and see if that will help. It's weird though.

Has anyone else experienced sporadic drops of the mobile network antenna?
No apps running or anything, i try and make a call, and no network. A restart fixes it.
Just wondering...

Sounds like a modem issue. Did you have issues on another rom, or just this one?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Just this one. Downloaded a new nightly, testing... Will report if it happens again.

Ok, this is happening again. Does Anyone have a solid tested modem for Cyanogenmod 9? I'm currently on LPQ.
This is getting irritating, because this no network thing happens every time people need to contact me the most.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
O have tested everything. Different modems, different nightly builds, still problems with network connection.
Does anyone else have any other ideas?

WiFi has been solid for me on his build. What recovery are you using?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
I used ROM manager to install. Did all the wipes just like previous installs I have done.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using xda app-developers app
Download 4ext recovery and use the wipe all except sd card before flashing. Cwm is extremely outdated and people are having issues like that after using it.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
I will give that a try. Is that the recovery tool of choice these days?
Thanks for the help btw

I did as directed and still have the wifi connecting then disconnecting. Got any other suggestions?
Check your radio version. If you're not using the .19 radios give them a shot.

Well, I put these radios on:
1.49.00.0406w_1, 0.02.00.0312r
I have the same issue. lol
This is getting pretty sad. Do you have any other suggestions?
Maybe try to download the Rom again. Then reflash in 4ext.

At least I have unlimited data, lol. Still would be nice to have WiFi working because we only have a weak 3G signal at our home.
Did it work before you started using that Rom? My other suggestion would be to try a different ics Rom. Sorry I wasn't able to help but you're not the only with that problem. I'm surprised that no one else hasn't tried to help.

It worked fine before ics. I will look into trying a different build but I really like this one.

Yea it is a great build it sucks you're having WiFi problems. Have you tried changing channels on the phone side?

I had the same issue, I used the tweaked combo radio that used the .19 CDMA radio, with the leaked ICS LTE radio.
Well, I don't know how or why but it works now. I got mad and took the battery out and left it for a day. When I put it back in and turned it on it was working.

Question concerning this ROM as well. My signal bars either constantly indicate 2 bars for the 4 bar version, or full for the 6 bar signal version, and nothing else unless I am not on 4G. I saw someone posted this question somewhere else about a week ago or longer but I have been unable to locate it since I have been using the ROM. My data connection is usually fine so I wasn't sure if it'd be the radio I'm using or something with the ROM and if I may need to reflash.

What ROM are you running? Are you using the stock kernel? I am having a couple drops with WiFi on Beans 3 and the Perseus kernel. Whenever I connect to a bluetooth device (MOGA controller) my wifi kicks off for a couple minutes.

I am also on CleanROM and have issues with Wifi. I'll connect it to the network and it will just disconnect. I have to manually connect to the network each time. I even restored back to my backup stock rom and it seemed the problem is still occuring. I'm not using MOGA

I have no problem with wifi signal on my phone. If you're having an issue, you should exchange your device for another one...assuming that it's still under warranty.
I don't think that this is a defective unit that exchanging the phone will solve.

So any of the new JB ROMs support WiFi tethering? I need it for my tablet on the go. I was told that neos TRON rom had a working WiFi tether but my tablet doesn't even see the connection. Thanks in advance

It works, but only when using ad-hoc instead. I've also read that 4.2.1 roms have a bug where 4g drops and requires an airplane toggle to reconnect as well. So stay with cm9 or sense based roms if either of those is an issue for you.

Ad hoc is a wireless network mode. Normal wireless mode is infrastructure where you have an access point that everything connects to which manages data exchange similar to a switch. Ad hoc is a mode where computers connect to each other and handle their own data exchange and collision avoidance. "Normal" tethering works in infrastructure mode where the phone becomes an access point. Computers support connecting through ad hoc, but very little else does. Most tablets and gaming devices only support connecting to infrastructure.
