used team win manual recovery method since revelationary failed me at that stage. I got everything to work, but google (gmail specifically) won't authenticate... is there any simple fix to this problem?
Try clearing the data on the gmail app and rebooting. Or since you have root you can boot into recovery and clear cache and davlik cache and see if that helps. If not then log into your gmail account via pc then try logging into your account on your mobile.

i have two factor authentication turned on and this requires an application specific password to be setup for each instance android wants to log into your google account. when i ran revolutionary, their methods are *secret* so i can't explain why, it reset my google account passwords. with the two factor authentication it took me a little bit longer to create another application specific password for the android device.
otherwise, once you wipe the data folder for gmail, gmail will essentially be clean and restored to a brand new state. all data settings for gmail should be kept on the /data partition in its specific /data/data directory.
worse case scenario, create a nandroid so you have everything backed up and then start removing setting files on /data. best case scenario, you're able to wipe out only gmail settings and it resets it so the point you're able to log in again.
usually, gmail authentication is linked to your google account authentication for the whole android device. contacts, calendars and gmail should all use the same google account authentication. if you're still experiencing issues, you might want to wipe the account settings to allow it to start fresh, which should also be stored on the /data partition.
best of luck!

First check if the calendar entries are there - PC > gmail account.
If there aren't any entries, it's a bit strange and it seems like sync wasn't active before.
If it's there, delete the gmail account from phone an add it again.
Because the restore from Titanium there can be two reasons for not working:
- the calendar app version change with firmware (maybe from ics to jb or gb to ics?!)
- there wasn't a entry set, which can be the reason for no entry from gmail sync

So this what I said with compatibility...
So u must restore ur calendar settings on GB.
Then for sure u can't directly sync them because it's local.
So u must try to bring them in the google calendar....
I've to say that I didn't do it til know so can't say how, but maybe there is an option like "import/export to calendar" or kind of it.
After this synch again...
Hope I made it a bit clearer now...

will try this.... thanks..
Try MyPhoneExplorer.
Some of the events are on device calendar, so they don't appear in GCalendar.
AFAIK, MPE can backup/restore all calendars present on device.

hi,
I was running Andriod 4.0.4 jelly-bean(nexus) on my Galaxy S II GT-I9100. I saved contacts using "Backup contacts" app from store. It saved contacts as ".csv" file. Now I switched to Android 4.0.4 ICS for galaxy S II GT-I9100. this requires a ".vcf" file to recover contacts.
so, here're question:
1. Can I convert .csv file to .vcf file (please state a simple solution) ?
2. Can they be recovered?
3. is there a restoring app which could read a .csv file and load contacts to my phone?
Thanks (in advance).
Why would you need or think you need to do any of this? Your google account automatically backs up your contacts and restores them to device upon adding account to device.
There just isnt any real need to backup/restore with CSV.
However if you insist..

I have almost half of them restored via google. but I lost loads too. The .csv file when opened in Microsoft Excell Shows those missing contacts.
)
BTW: I found my answer. Just to help some peeps like me (because there are several awkward solutions on internet) the solutions is pretty simple.
you can upload your CSV file to goole from your computer and sync any of your phone again. they will be restored.
Cheers.
Hi,
I made a backup of my calendar, memo, contacts etc when I was on Gingerbread before upgrading to JB 4.1.2 on my S2. After upgrade I successfully restored memo and everything except Calendar i.e "S Planner". Kies shows that it have successfully restored the calendar but I cant see any events on my S2. I also did a restart but no change.. Not even 1 event have been restored...!!! Please Help...I badly want to restore my events...
But I just updated my kies and after that its not even successfully restoring it..it just goes to 50% and when I select "Transfer all events" to restore it reaches 97% and gives a message "Stopped loading GT-I9100's S Planner"... what do I do now ??
In both situation I still cant see any events restored on my device..!!! Or else ...Is there a way to view the "Calendar.ssc" backup file ..so that I can atleast view the events ?
Thank You..
1st pic is before updating Kies.........2nd pic after updating
Help...!!!
I am still waiting for some response..!!! Guys can you please provide some support ??

Right sorted now, my calendar wasnt syncing with google as my agenda's were saved under My Calendar and not my google account. you can make a backup using ICal however from play store. I will just have to re-enter my calendar entries again saving under my account.
Out of nothing my contact and calendar from google account didn't sync.
(I reconfigured some time ago my google talk / hangouts, but I'm not sure that this was the reason for this google sync error)
In the sync settings of my google account an error appeared, something like
Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly
first: it took me some hours to figure it out
nothing in this forum mentioned before helped like deleting account and google apps, wiping cache, rebooting etc.
finally ...
this is the solution / workaround that fixed it for me:
open google calendar
click in menu settings
(here are only screenshots from my german android 4.1.2, but you should be able to follow the steps)

-See the IP address xxx.x.x.x Localhost
-Add a "#" before the IP address, e.g - #xxx.x.x.x localhost
-Save and reboot your device
-tested on a Nexus 7 2013 running stock 4.4.2 build KOT49H with ElementalX kernel

If I were you I would remove the whole google account from the phone and delete all contacts. Boot into recovery, wipe cache, reboot and add google account.
But first of all I would make a nandroid backup!
Good luck :good:

Maybe it's an error in the database on the phone, but that's speculative.
Finally someone has posted a solution to this problem. I just tried this on my stock non rooted AT&T S4 and although I went through the steps when I go to login to my account it says
"couldn't sign in
There was a problem connecting to the Google servers.
Please try again later"
But - it no longer gives the sync errors instead looks to be syncing on my Google contacts. It says "cancel sync" where it is usually says sync now. Hopefully it does sync. If not.... what other options do I have?!
---------- Post added at 06:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:30 PM ----------
Correction to my previous post - the fix does not work on my phone running ATT Touchwiz 4.4.2
Anyone know how to fix that wont wipe the contacts not synced yet? @bgumble

So i ended up calling Samsung - because i rely on my contacts for work/professional use, and basically got them to direct me to disconnect my google account from my phone then re connect and sync it - just to be on the safe side so if it wiped my contacts which it did not and i knew would not... id have someone to blame
disconnecting my google account and reconnecting is the solution that worked for me. Thanks for the post! Hope my post can help the next person in my shoes as this seems to be a common error.

Yes, unfortunate. This was the first thread i have seen with a real answer to this issue that i know a lot of people have; i have been searching the forums for 6 weeks - so thank you!
Still Not Fixed
I had absolutely zero issues with sync on either of my accounts when I was using 4.3 ROMs. After switching to a custom Touchwiz KitKat ROM, the problems began. After the switch and restore of data with TB, acore was chronically crashing. So I wiped and reloaded the ROM from scratch and did not restore any system data that time. At this point, I went to add my Google accounts and calendars was not an available option. aCalendar+ Tasks was. However, even after repeatedly reauthorizing that option to have access, sync kept failing on aCalendar+ and Google Calendar was not an option still.
I have dropped both calendar programs, tried the contact fixer app, tried suggestions on other sites, and tried all suggestions in this thread with one exception. I am not manually editing my hosts file because, in my experience, doing so almost always breaks something else as a side effect.
So, short of wiping my ROM again, which I really don't have the time to do right now-what is there left to try. As it is, there is no option under my Google accounts settings to sync calendars at all and Picasa sync is now chronically failing on both accounts as a bonus. Google calendar is currently the only calendar app that I have installed and it endlessly churns when attempting to load the list of available calendars.

I did not solve the problem with Google Calendar itself-I went around it instead. I switched from gCal and aCalendar+ to Calengoo and gTasks and those sync with Google Cloud data just fine. The only issue is that I still get a chronic sync error on Picasa sync so I had to go around that as well using Google+ sync instead. Very strange and frustrating problem this is.
