Xperia Mini PRO (sk17i) ICS ROM and kernel - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hello guys,
My phone is: Xperia mini PRO sk17i GingerBread 2.3.4 rooted via Zergush exploit.
I have unlocked bootloader with testpoint method and i am asking: Which ROM and kernel do you recommend? I want good battery and good performance in games and stability !(official ICS is lagging more than GingerBread!) Thanks !
//i want update to ICS because "Sixaxis controller" don´t support "gamepad emulation" in gingerbread !

Dude what's wrong asking here ??
Can't rooting be device specific ?
And I have started this post in general section only after searching everywhere on xda !!
Rooting for unlocked bootloaders is available but not for locked bootloaders !

Okay ! Then you suggest me a direct method to root which you can see on xda with your wide open eyes
And mpiekp's method is not direct! I am looking for a direct method.

Right now it's the only way for locked bl.......
Really restore a backup and flash a kernel is hardly a taxing method, if that's too much effort why not just wait.........

[Q] how to install kernel & custom rom neo V

Hi,
i am a newbie here. with help of the forum, i was able to root my xperia neo V running stock ICS. now that i want to try custom ROM - Polish Blood...
the topic for the same only gives an overview...
can somebody please guide me about going further with this...
i have downloaded the required files from the links on the topic
my neo V is rooted with a locked boot loader and have installed a few apps recommended (Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox & ROM Manager)
do i need to install a kernel (if yes, which) or can i just install the ROM?
any help is appreciated
First you gotta unlock your bootloader to go further.

what would you suggest, should i go with the official Sony method or is there some other way around. i don't want to lose the warranty, just in case something goes wrong. since, you are using a neo V and even the ROM... what are the major positives & negatives?
thanks
Sorry,is not the right post, but how is the performance of the phone after the ICS update? Please send your answer at [email protected]. Thanks in advance!

but i would still like to go with the Polish Blood ROM to enjoy the free memory and speedier, responsive games & applications (hope so)
hi,
my phone doesn't boot beyond the SONY logo now
please help......
omg
all that you can do now is to reflash your phone with a generic firmware using flashtool. Such threads are available in xda forum. look for it follow it. hope it works.

I remember how I thought my phone was bricked
You can do it easily now. Just take someone's help for test point (if you choose) or official is easy.

Hehe
Yea a year after even I would feel childish in asking such questions
Btw yea things have become much more easy and reliable...
And I'm considering official as I am not finding any guy who can do the unofficial unlock for me...
Wish I could have met you or communicated with you through some other medium like chats.... So that I don't brick by doin unlock by unofficial method... I know it sounds noobish but can't really help it.... As this being my 1st droid... Don't wanna ruin it and then spend money....

Activated the auto brightness, or just make the brightness to the lowest.
In ICS for xperia u have a feature called extended baterry, just activated it and ur battery will be saving.
About rom just go to U development section, and look for the best review from another user in a rom thread.
Sorry for my bad english

Why not use Flashtool? If you intend to flash any Rom then it really dont matter how your device gets ICS.
I flashed st25a on my st25i without any problems. I have since rooted my device and added a few tweaks to the stock Rom. I will flash a custom Rom soon, when they add a few more features and a bit more stability.
I have a "bl unlock = no" device

Oh :/ Yes I have flashed ICS. The problem was with Windows 8 driver signature verification. I solved it somehow and flashed using FlashTool. Thanks for your help guys!
So you have bl unlock="no" that means you can not unlock your device's bootloader?

First of all rooting ina way voids ur warranty buh it's a bit inda grey area...
You can root by binary method given in the above post....
Now with the custom rom.. These are tweaked Rom for better performance and stability and mods which give you more features of your device...
You gotu flash the rom which is ment for your device ONLY and it can also BRICK device if not done properly....

i honestly want to get the most of it. thanks for the help in advance.
I HAVE A PROBLEM WHEN TRYINT TO ROOT IT SAYS IM IN MTP MODE, and i dont know how to disable that seems like its by defautl
Just look in this section for an gbrocks and flash it it stock modified gb rom and work great and its also prerooted.
P.S. wrong section pal, it should be in Q/A section, and in future just use search button on this forum coz its been answerd a lot of times
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
First of all wrong section, you may put in the Q & A section,
Secondly there is no rating for custom kernels/ROMs, every development is best in its own unique way !
Use search for rooting methods

THANKS I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY ROOTED AND UNLOCKED MY PHONE
now im trying to install CWM but on that page it shows only CWM for ICS
im running ANDROIDN 2.3.7
i tried it and when i turn off phone i rapidly prass vol down and shows the blue green blue light but then it goes back to sony logo and starts normally
Now as you have unlocked your boot loader you can flash custom kernels, most of them have pre installed CWM.
Check for GB ROMs in the development forum.
Or CM9 ROMs are pretty smooth and simple, you may flash stock ICS (ftf file) and flash a CM9 ROM.
