Hello.
I have a U20i (x10 mini pro) and i installed a custom rom (sonystyle v1.1) and i wanted go to stock rom via reperation in pc companion.
The problem is that i cant enter flash mode any more. I've tryed in many ways (take out the battery , plug the cable and insert the battery with holding "back" key) but phone always boot and on the screen there is a charging battery and a yellow led
install SEUS and turn off phone on 30 sec witout USB cable, press and hold back key and then plug cable (you must hold pressed back key all times) program will tell you when u can release back key.
Still the same only charging battery icon and yellow led
Clean your USB connector from your cable, and dont forget to:
Pull of the battery for 5 sec a insert the battery, your phone must be disconnected from USB. Start SEUS and follow the steps, connect your phone holding back key.
Still nothing .
Once i entered flash mode. I connected the cable with holding back button and when the display turn on (before SE text) i pulled battery and inserted it quickly still holding back button. But when i want to do that again it aint working.

You need your battery in buddy, follow the steps in the pic, they are for the flash tool but the same principle.
I just had my first scare with the Xperia Mini...it constantly rebooted without getting past the SE logo, SEUS, PC Companion and the flashtool did NOT detect the phone....
so what I did was...take out the battery for about 1 minute. Make sure the phone is not connected to a pc/electricity and press the power button a few times, without the batter in. Now put the batter back in and connect the USB holding EITHER the top or bottom volume button, depending on whether you want fastboot mode for kernels or CWM for restoring...
Good luck!
Probably a faulty or wrong kernel I think...

Volume UP button enters fastboot.
Volume DOWN button enters flashmode.
Just turn off phone, click one of these buttons and connect USB cable. These been always so.
Reason for rebooting might be either custom ROM without custom kernel or faulty kernel.
Exactly.
And I will add this other:
You must press the right button when Blue notification LED on left corner will come up during booting, next you will have this 2 conditions:
Blue > Fastboot
Green > Download mode (Flashmode)
I need help please!
I tried to downgrade my phone from using this guide:
thespicygadgematics.com/2012/06/downgrade-and-install-gingerbread-and.html
with the gb rom from here:
thespicygadgematics.com/2012/07/root-xperia-s-lt26i-without-unlock.html
I was on this part:
Enable fastboot mode by press and hold the volume down button and same time connect the phone to the PC via USB cable (differ from device to device)
I did it and it started flashing but suddenly it disconnected the phone and now it always displays the logo, goes back dark and so on!
What do I do now?? Please help me
First do the forced shutdown by holding power button + vol down. Then try to charge battery again, just plug it in, and try to flash again. If you can't get it to charge battery try flashing again hoping it will last long enough to finish the process.
Thanks for the reply! I did the voldown+power, then plug it into the computer and did a software reset with seus. Now everything is working again
i had my phone plugged to the charger overnight about 2 weeks back. it was charging then, however it was completely dead in the morning.
tried holding the power button, nothing on the screen
tried removing the battery (had it out for > 1hr) and then inserted the battery back and tried charging/starting , nothing on the screen
i tried the power + volumerUP + volumeDown and nothing on the screen
Tried plugging the USB to a computer and tired to put the phone in download mode , but screen was dead.
i tried replacing the battery with a new one (from ebay) and it is still dead. the battery show about 3.8V when i check the + and - terminals using a multimeter.
it was working the night before and was dead in the morning, the phone is about 22 months old and it was running the original rom (i had rooted the phone about a year back),
i am not sure if the phone is bricked, please help guys.

bricked = no sign of life under any circumstances
Try putting the phone into download mode when the battery is removed. Pull the battery and leave it out. Connect the phone to the PC via USB cable, and hold down vol+ and vol- (but not pwr). The USB cable will supply the power. Let us know if it will boot into download mode using this method.

I tried to put the phone in download mode when battery is removed, however there was no message/flicker either on the screen and the computer did not recognise any device. I held the vol+ and vol- buttons together for about 15 seconds.

Sounds like a true brick. The phone is getting old enough that it may not be cost effective to send it out for repair. But if you do choose to go for a repair, Mobile Tech Videos in LA has a very highly respected reputation here.
There are several ways to put the phone into download mode. You should try all of them that you can before you give up.
Recovery mode:
With the phone off (and not connected to the computer), and battery installed, hold all three buttons, vol- vol+ pwr continuously until the initial boot screen appears the second time.
Download mode:
1. With the phone off and connected to the computer via USB cable, and battery installed, hold all three buttons, vol- vol+ pwr.
2. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- and vol+ (but not pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
3. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- (but not vol+ or pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
4. Attempt each of the above three options with the battery removed from the phone. The computer will supply the power to the phone.
5. Use Android Debug Bridge (adb) which will only work if USB debugging has been already turned on in Developer Options, since you can't boot into the system to turn it on. With the battery installed and the phone connected to the pc via USB cable, use the command "adb reboot download".
6. Use a USB jig. With the battery installed insert the USB jig into the USB connector of the phone. Some have reported that this method works when no other method would work.
My phone switches off everytime I'm charging it
When I plug the phone into a wall charger, I don't even get the red light that says its charging. But I am able to get it into flashmode when its connected to a computer. I have already tried flashing a new .ftf file. Previously, the phone wasn't charging so I put it into fastboot mode to override the charging stuff which worked once. but now, I can't get any charge and the phone boots straight into flashmode
Try doing a full-blown "pmic oblivion" shutdown
Power button + Vol up (normally ~ 15 secs for "emergency shutdown") but keep it pressed for 45+ seconds
So in a nutshell:
Power button + Vol up (for 45+ seconds)
Then see how it behaves ...
Still doing the same thing. what does that mean?
