THIS THREAD WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATED. badblood_antony HAS BEEN KIND ENOUGH TO PORT THE I9100 VERSION TO OUR PHONES. PLEASE CHECK OUT HIS NEW THREAD HERE: [ROM][PORT][JB][AOSP][SGH-I777] MIUI v4.1 Update 3.2.8. I WILL KEEP THE LINKS UP AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR THOSE WHO NEED THEM.
The developer or this ROM is no longer going to support the I777 after this update. So as of next week there will be no more updates. If anyone knows how to port MIUI ROMS to the I777 please tell me how and I will start to port them. Or if you would be interested in porting them yourself that would be most appreciated. So until further notice there will be no new updates after today. I will keep you posted on any changes or developments. Thanks, gerguter.
Here it is! An update for our i777 phones to the newest MIUI!
First off thanks to iXanza over at [ROM][JB][AOSP][GT-I9100][GT-I9100G][SGH-I777] MIUIv4.1 Update 3.1.18 for finding this! You can head over there TO THANK HIM YOURSELF. I certainly appreciate this!
I have tried this out and it works! It is also compatible with Siyah kernal by ktoonsez. Just make sure you pick the kernel for jelly bean.
This ROM should be updated weekly as stated on the MIUI site. I will post all updates that can be found so keep an eye out!
The files from MIUI can be a slow download and a bit confusing to get to so I have posted mirrors at the bottom of this post. This is where all updates for our phones can be found.
If you have any questions let me know and I will try to answer them the best I can.

For people who might be interested in this ROM.
Everything works as it should for me. I'm currently testing version 3.1.25 and have no issues whatsoever.
It works with the kernel it comes with as well as with Siyah 7.5.3 which I'm using now.
Dual boot also works. I currently have Jellybam 5.1.0 as my secondary. Quite sure others will work except probly Shostock.

This is a known thing between ICS and Jelly Bean. I am not sure why it is, perhaps because we haven't got the source yet but it known. You will find this issue with any Jelly Bean ROM that you run.

The low sound is obviously there but the other issues you talk about don't exist.
All I'm saying is its not right to incorrectly say a ROM sucks and mislead others.
Don't dish dirt on the only up to date MIUI for the i777 that someone was kind enough to share with us.

So is this rom good to go for daily use. Cant figure it out

Should be good to go. I tried the I9100 version of the virtually same rom and ran fine. Is a little janky for me, but I CANNOT speak for this one. Definitely stable.
I have a few questions if anyone doesn't mind. Does anyone know if MIUI's 4.1 (that is their new jelly bean, right?) is running off CM now instead of TW, like 4.x.x (ICS) was? And also, what are they doing with 4.1 besides adding project butter, obviously. Any info would be appreciated

The newest android version is 4.2.1... Project butter is huge improvement on 4.1.2 and on 4.2.1 they added new features like photosphere on nexus devices and overall smooth, great improvement on ram and battery management

For anyone looking to try this it works well. Download the main ROM file, then the latest update ( update is only 30 mb). Running it with AJ's siyah and working beautifully.

I'm not sure what you're referring to (memory disappearing or slowly being consumed leaving little left to use I assume though)? If that's what you mean then no I haven't noticed anything like that so far. Seems to be running very smooth. And some of the new themes are pretty interesting.

Hello everyone,
I have recently rooted my SGS2

Replace the Stock kernal with siyah 4.1.5
Then currently i am on stock ROM
slimICS.
HOw to keep the thread alive....
share your experience of Custom ROM which you are using.
Pros and Cons of the ROM...
Report any Bug..
We can then submit the issue to corresponding Thread or developer..
It is really your choice when it comes to deciding on a ROM.
A few things to consider, the JB 4.1.1 ROMs are available but not stable yet. So if you want to try the latest and greatest and don't mind the odd crash and random reboot it allows you the opportunity to report back your findings and assist in that way with development.
If stability is your concern, then you certainly want to go with an ICS ROM. CM9 is pretty stable as a recommendation.
As you mentioned earlier you could also dual boot to experience both. Just a few pros and cons for you to help in decision.
Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Theres no limit to the number of ROMs you flash in a day
Only make sure your battery is above 60% atleast before you flash a ROM, or anything for that matter.

JB ROMs are not stable since it has some memory leak issue.
It wil not be resolved till Samsung officially launch JB for SGS2.(will have to wait for stable version)
But CM10 team is trying to resolve infact minimize the issue and get the best JB ROM...

FAQ Section
Q) Why the myth ?
A: The myth ROMs are based on the stock roms of your unrooted phones and we bring in some more additional features to our ROMs to ensure stability and speed for daily use.
Q) What is aroma installer ?
A : It is an intuitive interface that lets you choose what you want to have in your ROM from the available options. Just start the installation process and you'll understand what it is
Q) When will the next update for the ROM be released ?
A : No ETAs please. We will release an update when we think it's ready.
Q) I'm not able to get/download OTAs ?
A : Go to our website www.themythteam.com and download the latest myth updater and then retry the downloads.
Q) I installed the myth 3 and my device doesn't boot...?
A : You need an SD ext partition on your SD card. To partition your SD card, backup everything on your memory card, reboot into recovery, go to advanced and select partition SD card option and follow the instructions.
Q) Can I flash battery extender kernel on this ROM ?
A : Yes you can. Be sure to backup everything in case something goes wrong.
I hope this is very much of it If you think that something more is missing in the FAQ, pm me . I'll be more than happy to add it. Remember, your cooperation is our support.

Last Myth (Myth 3) wifi problem
I have flash Last Myth (Myth 3) on my s5830. Everything work fine except wifi connection.
It show error and can not activate wifi connection at the first time.
Then I reboot and try to connect wifi again, now it's work but the connection speed is poor.
My other device (Tablet, laptop) does not have the connection speed problem like this.
I try to reboot again and again but the wifi connection speed still very poor.
I have spend 2 days to test this rom but wifi connection speed still the same.
I restore the previous rom and test wifi speed immediately and found that the wifi speed is fast like before.
Is there any patch or how to solve this problem? Because this rom UI is very nice.
Thank you for any help.
Have you tried a fresh, clean flash ? If not try and report. If the same persists, I can consider your problem & can try to help.

Is it possible? The Myth as Jelly Bean 4.2.2
I have installed all versions of Myth and other ROMS too but the only compatible and smooth ROM which I ave figured out for Galaxy Ace is the myth. But as a matter of fact Cyanogen Mods like for Ex: 10.1 are way too faster and have much advanced features as well. Personally I feel and was wondering if the myth team can develop the same thing as Jelly Bean with the same thing, features and looks which would be icing on the cake. I am saying this coz I think Myth is the best for Ace devices not CM's coz they drain out battery very fast. So, Is it possible? If yes then when are expecting it to release?

well... I didn't like the AOKP pink boot animation much..... (Prefer something blue and black like on CM to match the UI)
but this build came with the Nexus 4 boot animation. (But I replaced it because I prefer the earlier nexus animation than it)
anyway i'll upload the next version with nexus 4 boot animation or new aokp blue & black animation (tried to get this work but couldn't finish it converting to S2 devices).
and thanks for downloading... and let me know if you have any more suggestions.... really appreciate...
Not bad for a first time port. Everthing loaded ok plus I dropped in AJK 1.19 kernel to sweeten it up a little. I have been waiting for something with the new mali drivers to use the latest AJK with. Also I really like the boot animation myself. I am not a big fan of pink unicorns but I do miss the features of AOKP. I will give you a good review over in the AJK thread. Good work on your first try. I need to sit down and start learning how to port myself one of these days.

Thanks a lot for the update mate, good to hear that it works with new AJK kernel update. because I too tried with 1.10 (latest at that time) but didn't support 4.2.2 at that moment. I sure give it a try when I get a time.

Thanks for porting this - finally flashed it this morning, along with AJ's AJK v1.21a AOSP kernel. Everything seems to be working fine, except for wifi tethering. I can't get any devices to connect to my I777 using any kind of security. Setting it up as an open access point works, but either of the other security types cause other devices to not connect.
Has anyone been able to get tethering to work with security and AJ's kernel?

I forgot to post an update here. AJ released the b version after I asked about the tethering issue in his kernel thread - he had the same problem. Anyway, the b version works great - tethering with security, no problem.
I've been running with AJK for 2 days and everything has been running really smooth and stable. thanks for porting this awesome rom!
Hi, i managed to port miui V5 for our beloved lg p760. I had errors in flashing the ROM, then i understood that the error was in Updater-Script file, and i fixed it. Now i can install Rom and it shows me MIUI boot animation, and then... nothing.
I warn you that i am a newbie developer and i know quite nothing in developing rom/porting.
I need help of developers that may help me in building this rom.
I can send you rom and all files you need.
I am waiting for answers
I followed this guide: [GUIDE][JB 4.1.2/JB 4.2.2/Common] Definitive FAQ for newest miui porting ( i cannot post external link)
I used as base CM 10.1.3 STABLE, and as a porting source the last version of MIUI v5 3.9.13 for GSII, because hardware is quite similar.
take log from phone with logcat. or you can try my miui http://disk. yandex.ua/public/?hash=vwrihVXxEeLwC9PqvbOdk/T%2BaK/9oBB3QaHF9DZtDpk%3D&locale=ru&ncrnd=8496 (without space before yandex)
also cm 10.1.3 its jb 4.2.2, miui for gs2 its JB 4.1.2
I do not know hot to do logcat! And your MIUI?? do you ported it? Why do u posted it here?

What is your base and source? We could work togheter to make it better! I can work on framework.jar =) Pm me if you are interested.
Your Rom Works!! Only bug i found is sound recorder and 1080p video recording. also a bit of lag but all the rest is ok =) =)
After a day of full usage i can say this rom is pretty well made. Absolutely fluid, stable, and with 350 more or less of FREE RAM!!
Everything i tested worked well, battery draining is not high, from 10 AM to 7 PM i was still on 35% of battery.
Lockscreen very good, notification bar and scrolling very good!!
Garik, you should do 10 posts, and open a new thread in Developer Section

I also boot MIUI on my phone. I still have browser bug and maybe others I need to test it for a few days.
I use my custom CM 10.1.3 as base and use PatchRom route. It's very rough path with lots of smali and FC. The worse thing is that some auto patches are incorrect and we don't know it until we got FC and inspect logcat. Also the build procedure is not a one enter&wait command, you need to modified what MIUI team did, get it right for our phone.

I'll try his rom if I cannot solve my error which don't that hard but need to mess with smali. I try to build it from patchrom because it's a good way to learn how to port it to new unsupported device.
IMO, AOSP is the best base rom for patchrom method, it should work out of the box.

All seem to work well. Battery life is as is CM 10.1.3. Now I have following issues
- Webkit in MIUI is newer than CM 10.1.3 so some features (3-4 features) will missing in browser such as magnifier, select text in link. I don't know how to update it yet (replace libwebcore.so not enough it may require more lib and that lib may break may CM)
- Display menu item below font setting display as @2131495341 with subtitle @2131495342
- Shutdown confirmation dialog is CM (I think I can fix this)
- I notice that transition in Setting screen (from home to setting & from setting to home) is a little delay.
- Because I use CM 10.1.3 as base so 1080 recording not work.
- Some null pointer errors in PhoneManager which I'll solve it soon.
IMO, CM 10.1.3 is smoother than MIUI.

Yes, echo is present, but not persistent. In some calls after 2-3 sec it goeas away by itself, in others it is not even present.
It depends; However i think this is a very good rom as being an initial port. Garik did a great job =)
Thoug i changed ROM cause of very very random FC!!

Thanks for your efforts. By the way gariks rom doesn't boot on my p760, it stucks at lg logo, i don't know why, maybe an issue related to kernel because once i had a kernel panic. I think motorola rarz xt910 has identical hardware and there's already a port of miui, maybe that could help. Hope good news soon.
This is a port from the I9100 section. I had absolutely nothing to do with its creation whatsoever. All thanks go to Vivek_Neel and Renderbroken, without whom this would not have been possible.

AICP running great, thanks razen for bringing this to us, and thanks @Vivek_Neel for building it. I'm a huge fan of customization options, and this rom doesn't disappoint. It runs great with Render's TWRP 3/22 kernel - what more could you ask for?
Cool something new to tinker with.
Happy easter!

I update CWM through Mobile ODIN to move to KK. Coming back, I flash the Jeboo kernel from ShoStock thread, reboot recovery, then flash nandroid. Not sure if it's necessary to flash Jeboo first before going back, but it works for me. If you do it that way be sure to wipe cache/dalvic before installing the kernel.

I just recently jumped back to JB to test some "bugs" with kitkat and i can tell you that i had to downgrade recovery for the flash to take.
Did everything work out so far? Let me know if you have problems. I'll help if I can.
I've been back and forth the last few days between Carbon JB and KK builds. Downloaded this one to try out tomorrow. Still seems to be a lot across the board to be stabalized for KK to run smooth and bug free on our device.

Yeah me too. Kk definitely has its issues but it is stable enough to use for dd if you can tolerate the higher battery drain for a few days. It will go down after that.
Dood, it's like Christmas around here all of a sudden!
Massive thanks to @Vivek_Neel and @razen_kain for bringing this over-featured goodness to us.
Going to give this rom a try this evening. Been playing around with other KK builds, and porting the newest CarbonRom builds over. I usually don't flash anything that's not a RC or stable release, but very interested in playing with KitKat and bringing new life to this device. My daily is a 4.2.2 which runs great, but it's always fun to upgrade since we know official firmware will never be seen from AT&T.
I've seen this in a few other threads, and it didn't make sense to me, but I thought I would ask here. Using Render's KK kernel, people have reported better performance & battery life with the kernel that include TWRP instead of CWM. Does the recovery version make a difference as far as performance of the rom? I'm used to CWM but if the TWRP version really is better, I would probably give it a try.
Awesome and kind people here in this forum.

Does the recovery version make a difference as far as performance of the rom? I'm used to CWM but if the TWRP version really is better, I would probably give it a try.
