video recording is buggy with cm10 on x10i. We must wait.
Simple.... HTC is using a different Camera module than X10. Thus Diff camera = Diff requirements/ codes etc. So yeah...

1stly, i wanna give a big gratitude to all creator custom ROM for XperiaX10. I have a doubt about this matter, 720p autofocus HD video recording on custom ROM (Beta 4 by Z, Cyanogen CM7 by J etc.)
does it possible to porting this on all custom ROM?
as per announcement by SE they will update X10 with 2.3.3 but i don't like this update, because they turning X10 to standard android video recording. What the hell is going on.. x10 totally lose his major ability.

hi there - just upgraded to acronium ICS v4 and wonderd if there is a call recording software that records the other side internaly (rather than through the mic)
also - on 2.3.4 i used LGcamera app that gave me superior quality photos and HD videos to the one built in. however it doesn't seem to work on this rom and if i try to use the video recording it not only crash but crash camera use even with the built in app... any ideas of an alternative camera app that compress photos less and code videos in h264?

Can't answer your camera issue, but call recording depends on the kernel. Doomlords kernels support it but not sure if stock ics does.

you can try app Call Recorder on Play Store.
I understand there is a lack of certain drivers for ICS and JB......but does this mean graphics hardware too? I understand the camcorder driver issue will never be fixed.
i tried playing back 1080p video shot from stock 2.3.5 Sunfire. On stock 2.3.5, playback of 1080p shot video is flawless.
But the same video cannot be played back properly on any CM10 or MIUI JB roms I have tried. ....even if cpu speed is set high
I even tried Camera Illusion as suggested and the capture and playback 720P way too jittery and laggy.
Or is there a way to get video playback /graphics performance to its full capabilities in JB or ICS? or it simply another lack of driver issue?

Every time during recordinng video freeze for 1-5 seconds.
This problem exist for 720p video recording.
When I try to switch to 720x480 - camera doesn't start.

Problem solved (MaxWorks solved my problem ) I thought I checked everything...
It was SD card problem only!

Thanks to Tof37 we now have native camcorder support in CM10 and CM10.1 (JB 4.1 and 4.2.2 respectively). If you're on a ROM who's developer hasn't yet included the native support from CMx10 sources, you can still use this app.
Recording 640x480 res videos on ICS/JB with a 3rd party app​
The application is called Videocam Illusion.
How to ajdust the app's settings:
Set the audio quality to 44.1KHz
Set the video resolution to 640x480
Set the video quality to 100 (other values work fine too, but I prefer this one)
What does this app actually do to make recording possible?
It uses mJPEG encoding (each frame is treated seperately as a JPEG picture) and outputs the video files in .mov format rather than using h264/MPEG encoding
Where's the catch?
Recorded videos can only be played back within the app because the Gallery app does not read .mov formats. You can also find the recorded video files on your SD card in the videocamillusion folder and play them anywhere else (PC) though.
Low framerate
Poor compression ratio
The app was tested and reported successfully working on:
FeraVolt's JB v2 ROM w/ FK v4
walker.cz's walkerlab JB 4.2.2
scritch's CMx10 JB 4.1 (CM10) w/ CMx10 kernel
scritch's CMx10 JB 4.2.2 (CM10.1)
Slimbean v4 w/ AminKernel P7005
However, it shouldn't have any reasons not to work on any other ICS/JB ROMs and/or kernels.
Many thanks to walker.cz who found the app. He's also working on a JB 4.2.2 ROM with many customizable features avaliable with the AROMA installer so make sure you check it out here in the x10 developement area.
