Okay so for the last couple of days my phone has gotten to 3g. A restart usually fixes this. Toggling data has no effect. Right now my data is lost, I have to be on wifi and a restart did not fix it. Anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Ok once I turned on wifi and then turned it off 3g came back. Maybe it'll fix while I'm sleeping...

You could try a new SIM. I had something similar happen on my Rezound. Couldn't get 4G but it'd cycle between nothing and 3G. Went to VZW, gave me a new sim, walked out of the store working.

OK, I'm not sure if anyone one else has or is experiencing a data connection problem with Verizon's 4g toggling off and on. I know I "was" and this is my theory and it has actually worked for me but first let me start from beginning. I got new tbolt because having this issue, I rooted and install ROM and everything seem as it was fine until I decided to connect to myverizon app and as soon as I did I started experiencing the toggling off and on again. So I decided to un-install myverizon app and reflash radio again and sure enough everything fine now. Well like I said just my theory but I think if u log in to myverizon app its causing this data problem. Inconclusion if you un-install myverizon app and reflash radio you shouldn't have any more data connection problems.

Isn't it? It's like Verizon is trying to control usage. But like i said on post it worked for me, so i want to get a response from someone that has issue and tries it.

I constantly have to log in to My Verizon app. It's just part of how the ROM that im using works. I'm running Jellyblur 1.3 and have 4G data drops without even moving my phone on my desk at work. Considering I don't stay logged into My Verizon, I don't see how uninstalling it and reflashing my radio would make a difference. I love a good conspiracy theory though!

I'm saying don't use at all. Yes to update to see how much data u have used u have to constantly log in to update. What I'm saying is if u don't use at all don't even log in to myverizon. Give it a try... Delete myverizon don't re install flash radio again and tell me if your data connection is still dropping.

I just uninstalled MyVerizon and reflashed the radio. I'll get back to you on this. If it works, you just may be a genius... don't get too ****y lol.

I did flash the .9 radio afterwards and noticed no drops now. I can't confirm the correlation between the drops and My Verizon. It could just strictly be that this radio version works better for me. Sorry, boss, but I like where your head's at!

For what it's worth, I never installed the My Verizon app on any of my ROMs and only had it while stock, which was a year ago. I still got major 4G connectivity issues a few months ago like so many others. Made the phone damn unusable at times.

I went radio happy a month ago and flashed them like they were ROMs. Tried probably 5 or 6 of them. I even tried different combinations of CDMA and LTE radios separately. No significant changes although the .9 or .19 radios seem to work equally well for me.

i was having this problem with juice defender and i switched to the beta and now im fine it may be a program like that causing your problems
For about a week now my data seems really messed up. Alot of times ill have all bars but it wont show 1x,3g,4g ect.. then it will jump to 1x to 3g to 4g and even when i have full 4g signal and i go to load stuff it takes ages and almost never loads..i get calls just fine. If i put on airplane mode then off it usually comes back at 1x and i can get stuff to load for a little bit..
Ive done complete wipes with 4ext and installed 4 different roms and i have flashed about 6 different radios and it doesnt change..I called verizon and they werent having any network problems..they sent signals to my phone but it didnt change anything.
My wife has a thunderbolt aswell and she always has 4g and works just fine.. If i tehter my phone i get about 10kbps then goes to zero and back to 10..
Is there anything i can do or is my phone going out???

Nope. Just expired. Go figure. They thought it was the sim card. They replaced it for free but it didn't change anything

I had this problem on my last tb so verizon just replaced it and that fixed it. I don't know of any other fixes beside replacement.
Yeah there overnighting me a new phone. They said the antenna is probably toast. Hopefully there out of thunderbolts. My buddy just did it and they didn't carry the thunderbolt anymore and he got a new rezound for free

As the title says, I got my Verizon Note II today but no LTE so far. I just took the SIM out of my Galaxy Nexus, which gets Verizon LTE in my home, and put it in my Note II (purchased for retail price without contract). Maybe the radio is just weaker in the Note II, but my Nexus always gets LTE in my home.
Do I need to contact Verizon to activate the phone or should I be able to just stick the SIM in there and have it work?
It should work fine, I did yhe exact same thing. I was told it was better that I jumped from a phone using Microsim to another microsim phone because verizon was knocking people out of yhere unlimited data plans

I would be pretty irritated to pay $800 for a phone and then be told I had to give up my unlimited data. That would be the end of Verizon for me and my family, and we have been with Verizon forever.
I totally agree. I assume you have done a simple sim pull and reinsert. Have you tried Airplane mode on then off? Maybe something in the mobile network settings is wonkie?

My brother had a same issue with his Galaxy S3, but it was resolved by changing to new SIM card. You can also wait for 1 day and see if you get LTE signal....if not, you should take it to Verizon and demand a new SIM card.
This happened to me as well. I thought I could use my gnex sim for the n2, but only got 3g. Called vzw and activated the new sim and got 4G right away.

Very curious. When I bought my Gnote at the Verizon store, the rep removed the sim card from my Gnex and installed it in the note. Works fine for me. Have a strong LTE connection.
I switched from the GNex to the Note 2 and paid full retail for the phone to keep my unlimited data. But I activated my phone online and used the sim from my gnex in my note 2 and as soon as it booted up I had 4G.

Sometimes if you go into settings, more settings, mobile network, and select lte/cdma instead of global, it'll pick up lte.

Turned out I needed a new SIM card. Verizon store said it should have worked with the same card but that sometimes their system gets "confused". They swapped it out with no charge or hassle, and I still have my unlimited plan.

Hey guys, i have no idea what has happened, but i no longer have 4g on my phone.
First, it takes forever to actually connect to Mobile data. It shows that mobile data is on, but it says "disconnected" for at least a minute or two. Second it only connects to 3g when i know im in a 4g area, and have always gotten 4g.
I have it set to LTE/CDMA mode and have sprint connnections optimizer turned off. I have also updated prl/profile to no avail. Please help

It's been around the posts lately about the growing problem. Try ##3282#, profile, change to 1, hit menu, commit modifications... Maybe that will help.

This happened to me the other day. What i did was turn off my mobile data and put my phone on airplane mode for a few minutes. Then i turned everything back on and my LTE worked.
Woke up this morning and my 4g was back! Guess its a tower or software issue. It seems to be randomly disappearing for no reason. Hope you guys get it solved cuz if not then the phone should've been called EVO 3G if its gonna act like this. I'm sure I haven't seen the last of this problem

Been having similar issues for the last day or so as well. It sometimes requires me to restart the phone entirely before I get LTE back. Where are you guys around? Chicagoland area here.

Im in Dallas and since middle of December i can say that my Data speeds have gone back to pre network vision days..
Right now, in my office with the 4G icon, im getting less then a meg down and between 1 and 2 megs up.
Thats 3G speeds..
Its aweful..
Hey guys I have been rooted for a while now but on Sunday I crack flashed a bunch of 4.2 roms and lost connection to 4g. I have replaced my sim card and re flashed the radios but I am now stumped. When I get home I will probably Odin back to stock but if you guys have any suggestions I would appreciate it.

go into settings/more settings/mobile networks/network mode, then toggle lte/cdma and see if it brings 4g back up. If that don't work you can try a factory reset, still nothing then odin back to stock.

did you get a new sim from vzw? i know you said that you "replaced" it but was that with a new or used sim? also might want to power device off and make sure the sim is seated properly.
also are you getting 3g, 1x, or any data at all?

After all of that fighting the system, changing the sim, reloading stock the sim holder is sort of wide and the spring forces it just a bit off of the contacts I adjusted it just a bit rebooted and got 4g back. Always check the stupid things that it could be first. Lesson learned for the 10th time. Though I checked it multiple times before resorting to a system restore so who knows what caused it.
Always check outside before working your way in!

Interesting. .. Did you get a replacement? Reminds me of when my girlfriend tried the dna... She would drop it or tap the phone and the sim card would disappear from the phone lol.
