My girlfriend and I both have Rezounds she however likes to talk with hers between her face and shoulder while busy doing other things. When she does so she sounds very distant and barely audible. Is there anyway to anyway to get around this? She is rooted running CleanRom DE 1.4 if that helps.
I've had multiple cln rezounds and everyone of them I've had, ive gotten complaints about my voice going in and out, unfortunately i think it's just how the rezound was made.
sent from my htc rezound s-off running viperrez with snuzzo 2.2 kernel...
I think you should try updating to either OTA or global firmware and trying some different roms based on those. If it only gets halfway better that would probably still be a big difference. It won't fix a hardware issue but just software may make some difference.

The problem is that the rezound uses two mics and a proximity sensor to tell when your face is right up against it. Too much movement of the phone and it switches between modes...causing the audio to sound super compressed for a couple seconds.
Get her a Bluetooth she can hide under her hair

I had the same problem with the mic and Bluetooth. I found turning off voice privacy worked for me.

As soon as I have the chance I am AT LEAST going to get her onto the global update. I think while I am at it I might as well s-off her phone before that maybe get her on a decent new rom.
I wonder if using one of the asop roms where you need to tweak the proximity sensor anyway if there is something in doing that which could help? *shrug*
When it comes to using a Bluetooth she has one but she never thinks about it so she rarely wears hers.

I tried the voice privacy and haven't noticed a big difference maybe a little bit but a little bit is better than nothing I suppose. Thanks for the suggestion.

My Dad wants to go the Android route and I want to tell him to get the Thunderbolt but Bluetooth is the single most important function he uses in his car. He has a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel. It pairs fine with blackberry phones.
I know that the Droid Incredible only worked with cyanogen. I'm just curious for some information on the Thunderbolt. Thanks for looking. XDA has been an amazing resource.

Well the TB is going to be capable of using Bluetooth 3.0 so I'm sure its pretty capable
I use it as a Bluetooth mp3 in my truck, it automatically pairs just fine

Let me ask you... I have a 2011 Sonata and I have notice a little cracking noise when I playing music pretty loud. Now the noise is somewhat low but you can hear it more when raising the volume. Wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.
So wait it's a 3.0 device? I thought it was a 2.1???
I had a lot of problems with this on the Droid Incredible. It's the same reason why wi motes would not work with the Incredible when we tried to pair them using bluetooth. Has this issue been resolved on the Thunderbolt?
I loaded Cyanogen on the Incredible which had a different bluetooth stack native to its build. This resolved the problem on the Incredible and I am looking for verification that by default the Thunderbolt does not have the issue.
If so I will ditch my Incredible too.
thanks,

When 3.0 becomes available they will update the Bluetooth stack to.support it... It has the hardware for it just not software
And as far as I know the thunderbolts Bluetooth stack is up to date instead of being behind like the Dinc

I'm really debating switching to the Amaze from the GS2 due to the horrible screen issue the Qualcomm S2 has due to the video drivers being emulated from the Exynos version. Im guessing the Amaze's drivers are made for it right?
Other than that, the things that concern me about the Amaze are the light bleed from the capacitive buttons and random reboots/shutdowns. I know the button issue can be resolved by turning them off, but wouldn't it be hard to see/use them in the dark? How prominent are the shutdowns/reboots? Anything else I should be concerned about? I'm coming from a G1 so I keep my phones awhile
Edit: Just realized there is no S-OFF either. What limitations does this produce compared to a device with S-OFF?

I've never had a reboot or bootloop. Just make sure you read and follow instructions. Light bleed apparently varies from device to device. Mine is noticeable but only on dark background and I actually think it looks cool. Call me weird :/ I've never had an issue really, other than the backcover and case preventing me to get a great WiFi signal. I haven't tried the foil trick. Also, the back cover makes a plastic creeking noise, but a thin folded piece of paper back there fixes it. Sounds kind of ghetto for a high end phone, but the camera and display are great in my opinion and the radio gets great service. There are some good ROMs and its a fast sexy phone. I like it.

had an s2 as well, had the bad screen and sent it back. jumped ship to the amaze and build wise, i think its a better crafted device. had to return 2 of em, but my 3rd one is on point. havent used it enough to give a better opinion, but so far i like it alot better. go for it
My wife has the gs2 and I can't stand that thing. Crappy screen and touchwiz kill it for me. I love my amaze.

I came from the Gs2 about 2 weeks ago. And I have the light bleed but it's not terrible. Haven't had any random reboots or anything. Build quality is head over heels better than the gs2. Also firs in the pocket better. I love this phone and don't regret the switch one bit. Can't wait to root it andget to flashing.

Yep, happened to me, it came and went at first and then stayed there all the time. Took the phone to verizon and they replaced it.
That's the beats by dre working its magic. People that listen to hip hop don't hear the hissing and other noises because their eardrums are blown out from all the years of listening to crappy music. My phone does the same thing though. The whole beats thing is a real turn off from the HTC brand and I hope they do away with it.
It's a common problem as far as I can tell. Funny that I stumbled across this thread because the beats things was bothering me today. Can we please stop giving money to rappers and their overpriced bs products.

Mine only does this when playing music in the car using the stereo Jack and charging at the same time. Alternator noise.
I've heard about the charging in cars causing problems. Supposedly if you try different chargers or just remove the charger it'll work just fine.

It's gotten worse for me. I've tried different headphones and it only appears to be the "left" side. Even with the screen turned off it still has the same sound. I also tried turning all the radios off and it does not change. I'll downgrade back to stock Gingerbread (currently running one of the ICS leaks) and if the problem is still there then it's time to take it to VZW. At least it should be covered under warranty,
Happens to me too. But if I wiggle the cord it will go away. At least for now. No telling if that trick will continue to work in the future, but it works for me now.

I have this issue. I've contacted HTC twice already. The most recently last week. Same response, "we have an update coming soon, that will solve the issue" . For those of us running the latest radio/ICS know that their update isn't going to solve the problem. This issue is annoying me more and more lately, it's getting bad. I'm hesitant to return my phone for a warranty just cause I don't want a refurbished, I paid a lot of money for this phone... So, I have to deal with this? I haven't tried deleting beats with root explorer. Maybe I'll try that next.

I did have some problems before and most of the time it was fixed by increasing the max frequency while screen was off ( I was using viper rom or meanbean), I don't know what rom you are having trouble with and also Bluetooth is really sensitive to interference specially in open spaces, I work outside and I've noticed that if I wave my hand right next to my handset while on a phone call, I get the static and crackling noise you might be referring to, but if I'm in my house I dont get the same result... What rom are you using? Kernel? Scheduler? Or app to set your frequencies? I'm on cm 10.1 and this is my second replacement which doesn't like over clock without the kernel stabilizer made by Viperboy and I'm currently using Komodo rls 30, I don't have that static anymore... :good:
Hatkalte 1.3.2... But it happens on all roms. Also it crackles and then disconnects and then reconnects.. And then cycles again.. It's so annoying.

Ok, my bluetooth died at the end and would not be recognized nor recognize any device that I had previously paired with my phone so I had to use VipeRuu and got it replaced, this is my second replacement after that bluetooth failure... Good luck, you might have a hardware issue like mine was, I won't be surprised if in a couple days it dies completely just like my original evo lte, have you tried stock rom?

I've had issues as well. The best performance I had was on an aosp rom. I was able to walk a crossed 8 bays and through a door and still pick up my music playing. I've noticed sometimes while doing yard work that the music would be very choppy. My buddy has an lte and the same LG tone headset and has the same problems. Hopefully when I get my new s4 my problems will be solved. I'll report back when I verify if it is the phone or the headset or just bluetooth in general.

I have consistent problems on speakerphone with people saying they can't hear me. I had a bear motion slim case on it but I'm not clear if that is creating any issues. Is there a hidden microphone anywhere that the case may be covering? Or do I need a warranty replacement?

It's weird, I've had certain people tell me this as well but others can hear me fine. Not sure what's going on, but I know that when I'm talking with someone who has trouble hearing me, if I put in my headphones it solves the problem. Maybe something to do with noise cancellation/echo reduction?
Do you have a case on or anything? I only have the issue on speakerphone.

I've been messing around with this more and it seems like the bottom mic on my device is really directional in the sense that it only seems to pick up audible sound when you talk right into it. It's definitely barely picking up anything when the phone is held normally as if for a call. The speakerphone mic seems to work fine.
EDIT: I finally took it back to the store and swapped it out for a new one. It was definitely a hardware issue as my new one sounds much better.
Same issue here and I'm not using a case.
On speakerphone only, I get complaints every single time that people can't hear me to the point where I have to switch back to handheld.
Noise reduction currently off but it's the same either way. Gonna pop into Tmobile on the way home and see what they say.

For those who have a problem with this, I've been dealing with this issue since day 1. It seems to be a T-mobile problem and NOT a problem with the phone itself.
The software is set up as half-duplex and not full-duplex as it should.
That means that if the person on the other end of the line is talking or making noise and you start talking, they're not going to be able to hear you. I've tried this with my phone and a replacement phone. Same thing happened. That means that you will continuously cut in and out.
I'm currently talking to T-mobile and they have a ticket open with me to work with developers on the issue. I have no idea what happened but, as someone who uses speakerphone all the time, it's a MAJOR pain.
If anyone has more experience with this sort of issue, I'd love to hear it.
Hi Guys,
I'm having a problem along the same lines. I moved to Tmo a month or so ago when the S5 came out (ported from Sprint). The first couple of days I had great coverage but intermittently when I talked to someone, they'd tell me it sounded like I was in a tin can. At times it was hollow or echo-y. It kind of stopped, but then started up again. To me, everything sounds perfect. Now, randomly when I talk to someone, sometimes they can hear me without any problem, and sometimes they can barely understand me because of so much feedback coming through (even though I can hear them perfectly).
Tmo gave me a new sim card to use and said to wipe my cache to make sure everything was good. I did that and it worked great for about a day. Now, it's random again. I call land line and it sounds like I'm in a tin can and when they talk it's lots of feedback. I call friend on att and they have loads of feedback when they talk but perfectly fine on my end. I called someone on Tmo and had the HD appear on the call and it sounded like he was talking through a pillow.
It's so weird I can't figure out what's going on, but it's getting really annoying trying to talk to someone and end up calling them multiple times just to see if I can get a clear connection.
Bluetooth in my car seems to work perfectly for each end, though.
I'm on stock rom, rooted w/ philz recovery, and have not updated to the new ANES.
I don't use a case.
Wondering if that would help out.
Check this out might explain the mic issue
