hi...
although yp-g70 is not a phone, but is there a software through which we can make free calls to an any number?
Viber is an awesome calling app. Although you can't use it to call EVERYONE, most phones these days have a Viber application, so you try that.

Yes, using Google Voice. You can use Groove IP or Talkatone for simpicity, or if you want something completely free, but more complex to set up, look into the Sipdroid or CSipSimple apps together with a service like pbxes.org or https://simonics.com/gvgw/
Of course, Voice is not available everywhere, so if you can't use it where you are, then you'll have to settle for either limits on who you can call or something like voip.ms for über cheap.
thanks. i've install viber...
I think Google Voice is not available where I live...
Will try Groove IP & Talkatone

Talkatone is not completely free? I didn't pay for it and use it without issues.

Aren't there ads in the free version? I believe you have to pay to remove them, but yes the app itself is free.

Well HTC Sense has a built in locator, just sign into your Sense account and it was auto update your phones location. Just go to HTCsense.com and you can see it on a map.

You could try "Wheres my droid" from the market place, it doesn't utilize root but it will locate your you phone by sounding your ringtone or white noise, or even send you gps co-ordinates if lost or stolen.
Just txt your own number "GPS my Droid" to recieve gps co-ordinates or "Wheres my droid" turns up the volume if on silent and makes it ring for a set ammount of time, hopes this helps
Try "pintail"
I use Seekdroid to turn on gps remotely (requires access to the internet) and Wheresmydroid as backup just in case I can't access the internet.
It doesn't use root though and works well.
You can also push the app to system with root explorer I would use Droid lost. It's a good one. You grant it admin rights and control many many features from a website. It works real well. And by pushing to system most people would have a hard time unistalling it.

I am moving to a job that will now result in high cell phone usage. I want to be able to put on an app for my Note that allows for a list of people I want to talk to anytime. First option was use Google Voice, but moving to unlimited cell minutes for a family plan is expensive. Most of the call manager apps I find only block calls not in Contacts and I do need that but also need to put coworkers into a list that go to voice mail.
The main reason I want an app like this is to allow for vacation time and after hours without having a second line to switch to or turn off my phone all together. SPB makes an app for Win Mo but not on Android yet.
Any suggested apps?
Take a look at Extreme Call Blocker
Thank you. I bought and it does what I want.

[Q] Google "Voice Search" 3.0.1 -- Does Not Recognize CALL Command; Does Websearch
My Droid Razr Maxx is running stock (but rooted) ICS 4.0.4. The version of Google Voice Search installed is 3.0.1. Google Voice Saearch is a successor to Google Voice Actions. It's supposed to be able to call a contact by giving the command:
CALL [contact name]
Click to collapse
Example: "Call Joe Blow Mobile" (mobile tells it to use the "mobile" number listed instead of asking me which of Joe Blow's various numbers to dial) is supposed to call Joe Blow's mobile number.
When I give this command, it just does a web search instead. In the Settings of Google Voice, you can tell it which things/services are "searchable." I have mine set to search contacts only, but it still interprets everything as a request for a websearch. I've tried force-stopping the app. I've tried clearing it's data and cache. Nothing changes.
BTW... the version of Voice Search on Play.Google.Com is 2.1.4. The Play Store says that this is what is installed on my phone, but my version is actually 3.0.1. I can neither uninstall what I have nor update it.
Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?
Can anyone recommend a fix for my Razr?
This is not going to be helpful to fix google voice... but here's an alternative: I quite like Motorola's voice commands which you can activate by double tapping home button. Go to its settings and you can even make it adapt to your voice.
It's reliable and recognise names better than google voice or any other voice apps like vlingo. I've been using it with my car bluetooth speaker which automatically turns on voice commands when I press the call button on the bt device.

I can't find anything called Motorola Voice Commands on my Droid Razr Maxx. Do you find it under "M" or "V" or something else?
V, Voice Commands. My mistake. It's not made by Motorola, but made by Nuance. However it's in my stock asia RAZR.
Here's an apk of the app, and titanium backup (in case the apk doesn't work). Hope this solves your problem.

Thanks for this and I probably will install it eventually, but I need to investigate further beforehand. I looked on my system, but found no app called "V" or "Voice Commands." I started to install the APK, but it warned me that this would replace a system app, although it didn't say what that system app is. I live in the USA. Apparently, I have something equivalent that is not called Voice Commands, but which is the same as Voice Commands.
I will investigate and report back...
It's not called V. I was replying to your question to whether it's under V or M. Lol.
Perhaps the app will only appear if you have a bluetooth audio device?
You can also try under settings->accessibility-> Double tap home launch and see if Voice commands is on the list.
Btw I'm using Nova launcher, maybe that "unhides" the app? >_>
Really ticked that I cannot figure this out....
So, I have Google Now as part of Nocturnal Rom
I use bluetooth headphones and the Belkin bluetooth car adapter
Both of these products have a voice dialing feature. The problem is, that it launches the Voice Dialer app, which is as useful as bellybutton on a forehead.
I have the app Bluetooth Launch, which supposedly lets you program what happens when you push the voice dialing button on a bluetooth device. No luck.
I want to try to get rid of the Voice Dialer app using Titanium Backup, but I cannot find anything that come close to "Voice Dialer" on the list of apps.
Anybody know how to make Google Now the default Voice Dialing/Searching app when using a bluetooth device?

May want to try freezing voice control.
I believe that is what the OG uses for voice dialing.
I know that app can dial numbers.
Tried it. (actually deleted it)
Still no dice
Thanks for the tip, though

I have to make phone calls all day long. To make a call I always pull up the dialer and dial people using T9. When I get to the contact I want it does not give all the contacts phone numbers and it just decides which number to call and it usually is not choose the number I want to dial. Anyone know how to over come this horrible flawed software
Stock patched Google Dialer v15. Search for it here on XDA. Also install Google Contacts app from Play Store. After that you can disable LG's phone dialer and contacts by disabling "Contacts.apk" using LG package manager (paid) or using PC and ADB shell.
I'm surprised anyone uses a stock dialer. I'm accustomed to using, e.g. TrueCaller. There are many replacement dialers that add more features.

Why surprised? I don't use the phone for work or business, and only call the same few friends and family members, so stock dialer is fine.
I'm using an older version of the Google Phone dialer app, which was the last one that I could get to install without any compatibility issues and all features working. It was noted in a thread in this forum, I think, or it was linked from that rather popular article about turning your V30 into a Pixel. No visual voicemail tab unfortunately but place search works (which I used a lot).

Is your phone rooted? I installed LG Package Disabler on my stock V30. After installing Google Dialer and making it default, I tried to disable Contacts. apk with package disabler. There is no save button in the menu. When I exited the app, and reopened it, the check marks were gone and Contacts was not disabled. What simple step am I missing? Does your phone have to be rooted?
