Contacts - already have them all in Google Contacts - will sync as soon as I add my account to the phone.
Music - Google Music - see above.
Angrybirdsbackup Free
Run backups in various apps - DGT GTD, Profiles, TiBu, etc.
Wrote down all my free apps from Android Market. (Paid apps all show up when you sign in with your Gmail address. All Amazon apps show up when you log in.)
Backup my Captivate's internal SD to my PC.
Biggest thing is backing up game data, wherever it's saved.
Settings - no big deal. Gonna go through them all anyway, starting from scratch - no backups needed.

I can't upgrade until Feb. 2013, but I went and bought the phone at full price. I consider this as belated christmas, valentine's and birthday present. I took a rain check on christmas for this THIS!

I did not know AT&T was selling this phone at full price!?!?!? From everything I saw online and in store there was no full price pricing.
They did a override on my upgrade was due in May upgraded early and got the phone for 299

I was able to see the full price the moment it went on pre-order. I got mines for $650 + tax. I was going to order it through Best Buy, but it was $750, and I didn't want to pay $100 more and a hefty tax.

I upgraded off the website and it only cost me $299. I dont believe I was available for an upgrade though. Who knows.

I posted this on the costco page. Its a good deal but we don't know their supplies so it could be a while. It just says it will ship when available.
Last year Walmart had the GS2 (i777) in stock on release day. Incidentally I'll buy there on the 5/3 when my upgrade eligibility returns.
Just make sure to stop by an AT&T store after and have someone check your account if you're trying to keep unlimited data.

just as a heads up if you call at&t they will probably allow you to upgrade early. My upgrade was not available until May 8th and they told me I can upgrade. You will have to wait until Friday when the phone is released because they can't do preorders
Wal-Mart associate here. Good luck getting any new release phone. They are shipped my manufacturer at will and we cannot order them. Also replenishable stock on contract phones is almost non existant. I would have purchased mine from my employer early but the stock is just not there and never is. Wait a few weeks.

Because they get incentives from carriers for new contracts and renewals which they can pass on in the form of device discounts.
Does Walmart charge your card at the time of purchase or when it ships?

Good luck getting AT&T to unlock it, too. I have been trying for weeks. They refuse, have given me a runaround, have tried everything they can from saying it's a contract phone (it's not I got in a giveaway) to it's not eligible for unlock, to I have to wait til my contract is over... My contract was on an Inspire and ends in August. They're liars and thieves at AT&T.

thx guys for all the replies, but to get everything clear , i am not living in USA, i wanna buy it online as gift for a friend in USA, i can get it on walmart but they are asking for 650$, a 50$ premium over at&t unactivated price , amazon put it for 700$(although sprint version is ther for 550$), i can't buy unlocked from htc website as they require a USA issued credit card. and expansys is very expensive
Besides ebay. Walmart is your best bet.

BestBuy in my neighborhood (Monroeville, Pa) price matched the AT&T off contract price of $599.99.

OP is overseas and best buy website won't pricematch.
I suggest wiring another friend in the US some money and have them buy the phone or send the person you want to buy the device for, a visa gift card.
Sorry , if this has been answered before. I haven't worried about losing my unlimited data because I was happy on my Rezound. Now, though I am really looking at one of the newer handsets coming out this fall. I realize if I subsidize the phone I will be forced to give up my unlimited , but I notice my contract is up in December . Will I be forced out of unlimited in December even if I choose not to upgrade my phone ? If so I might as well take a subsidized phone otherwise I lose plan regardless. Just wondering if anyone has gone through this process recently.

You dont lose your unlimited unless you make some types of changes to your current plan, or you upgrade without buying your new phone outright. You can also keep your current plan if you have insurance on your phone and make a claim,upgrading that way.

Like the post above don't make any changes to your plan and don't buy a new phone and sign a contract. Might wanna check out eBay or something for cheaper phone as new phones out right cost anywhere from 300-700 bucks.

If they no longer carry your phone, they will give you one of equal value when you gotyour phone If they have none with same specs. At least that is how I upgraded from my Inc to Spectrum then this Rezound.
My replacements were through Verizon. Manufacturer Defect warranty. I pay for the extended warranty

I have N2 and also eligible for upgrade. I stopped by at BB today and yes $199, but I have SERO plan so no luck!! I will see if Sprint can price match. Phone looks amazing.
I hope you have better luck than I did. My sprint store said no. Claiming 100% of best buy sold phones are refurbished no matter how new the phone is (even though I got an s4 on launch date)

Your Sprint store guy is full of crap. BB does not sell refurbished phones as new. Its highly illegal and if they did stuff like that - they wouldn't get away with it for a minute. IMHO.

NO! they are so strict. I even talked to Sprint Sero customer service department. I paid 349+Tax. Hoping to get some money from my N2 eBay.
So far I love my N3.
Got mine yesterday from BB for $199.99
Coming from an HTC Evo lte. Loving it so far. Sure wish I could root and put TWRP without voiding warranty though.

If you bought your phone in the last week or so from best buy, using the app "Ibotta" you can get $10 cash back. Because I already did it I can't look at the offer details such as dates or restrictions. But I bought my note 3 for $272 after taxes .(10% in silicon valley) and got my $10. Not much, but something for sure.
I was sad to find out Samsung stopped offering the Google play credits so went out searching for more. If anyone has anymore Samsung purchase deals let me know haha.

The best buy I just went to was 149 for new lines only. Still 199 for upgrades. Does anyone have any proof of 149 upgrades?

If your upgrade eligible and your contracts up.....add a line and get it for the $149. Call sprint and cancel the line thats off contract then port your number over to the line you added. Then you can sell your original phone and youll probally break even or get more then the $149
