I used the terminal and copy pasted this script just to reproduce the error message:
https://picasaweb.google.com/111880...hkey=Gv1sRgCMPBnLGS14HHTQ#5836287645907959746
Can someone translate that error message to me?
It happened when I tried to update Busybox (Jrummy), looks like all links are broken now with the same error message.
It's not affecting me now but soon I will have to deal with it since Busybox is a lot requested by anything that mess with root..

I keep getting the "not sufficient space" error when i try to install Handcent SMS from the market. I do have 30MB free tho ... any ideas why?
What rom you on?
Have you tried to install other apps since you got this error message?
ROM: Villain 5.2
installing / uninstalling other apps causes no problems
nevermind. removed everything via adb shell.
the last update attempt seems to have caused some troubles.
thanks for the quick reply anyway!!
just FYI: as I noticed in logcat trace output:
It seems that the underlying problem for this widely noticed problem simply were wrong filesystem permissions on the "lib" directory within the data directory of applications.
This prevented the installer from deleting/updating the *.so file(s). And it seems that the installer is so dumb to show a "not enough space" error every time it cannot write to the filesystem (even if it cannot write because of missing permissions).
The problem affected only applications which include native shared libraries (*.so files) which are placed in this "lib" directory (like "Handcent SMS", "Better Terminal Emulator Pro", "aTilt 3D Labyrinth", ..)
interesting ... i'm gonna check that the next i have similar issues
Seems my problem started after install of Terminal Emulator. Now Handcent fails to install and I have no idea how to fix it, removing via adb shell is not in my vocabulary. Can someone clue me in on this as I am use to Hancent and like the way it operates.
Thanks!
Thought I'd post in this thread save starting a new one. I am having the same problems. I can install other apps but not handcent, the error is same as above not enough space.
Can someone please post instruction on how to fix this via adb ? (for a layman)
I have looked at the other posts concerning this and looked in the /data dir' and searched via astro for any related "handcent" entries but cannot find any and I still have the problem. Please help.
Many Thanks

Can you/someone give advice on how to perform this fix because I'm having this problem and this seems to be the only fix. It's not working but I don't think I'm doing it right.
I'm having some issues rooting my Atrix.
A few times I had the error where it would say device or resource busy when trying to mount the partition after doing Reading OS Version properties...
Now it seems to finish to completion but when I test for su it doesn't prompt me for root privs or anything on the phone. When I use root checker app it says it's not rooted but that busybox is installed.
When I do su on a terminal emulator it says permission denied.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry guys, I seemed to have derped.
Had to reboot after it works successfully. If there is a way to delete this post please advise and I will do so.
Hello all,
I recently put backtrack 5 on my atrix and was really enjoying having a pentesting suite on my mobile phone.
I used the method and image from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074169&page=26
Everything worked perfectly for a while until...
I updated to 4.5.91 GB OTA and now it no longer works.
When attempting to start BT I get this
Code:
#startbt
losetup:applet not found
mount: applet not found
mount :no such file or directory
mount :no such file or directory
mount :no such file or directory
net.ipv4.ip_forward=1
Setting /etc/resolv.conf to Google open DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4
startbt cannot create /data/local/bt/etc/resolve.conf: directory non-existent
startbt cannot create /data/local/bt/etc/resolve.conf: directory non-existent
startby cannot create /data/local/bt/etc/hosts directory non-existent
It looks to me like the backtrack image is not getting mounted, thus the directories cannot be found.
Can someone please explain to me what in the world happened, and perhaps how I can go about fixing this?
I am rooted and do have busybox installed. Both are confirmed through the rootcheck app.
Also I apologize for not posting this in the thread in the thread I mentioned before, but post count prevents me from posting in dev forums.
If someone successfully solves my issue I would be glad to donate a a few bucks to the dev of their choice.
EDIT***
Nevermind It is fixed. Just in case others are having similar issues I will explain what was wrong...
After I updated to GB and re-rooted, I ran rootcheck to verify that I had root access. One thing I noticed is that my rootcheck claimed I didnt have busybox installed. So I reinstalled it. Like a dummy I installed it /system/xbin instead of /system/bin. Simply installing it to the correct place fixed things. I feel silly. Mods feel free to delete this.
So here's the deal. I'm getting in to some dirty work with Ninjamorph, but after finishing a project, I know it does not resign an .apk. When I try to put the .apk I've modded through Signapktic it spits out the error: "which: applet not found".
Typing which into the terminal emulator yields the same result. Apparently I'm a serious noob when it come to androids, because Busybox is installed and I thought which would have been added to the commands at that point. How do I get which to work? Because being able to do all this modding on the phone is ridiculously convenient.
So, I failed, and didn't realize there was a new busybox version available. which is now working on my phone.
Signapktic, however, does nothing. I click start, it says it's been given su permissions, and then says finished (the terminal log is empty).
hi all,
i'd like to use OpenVPN on my new HTC One.
I think, I got it rooted following the guide in howto htc-one-root/, using the One_All-In-One_Kit. Also I installed CWM and flashed the root-su-files.
Afterwards I tried to install Busybox via google play, which failed presumably because of the read-only filesystem (I am not sure, but I think...). So i used CWM and BusyBox_v1.20.2r2-linusyang-signed and luckily installed busybox in /system/xbin with symbolic links.
Now I struggle to install the OpenVPN-binaries, provided in the market by OpenVPN-Installer (Friedrich Schäuffelhut). But this fails: The OpenVPN-Installer fails with "binary not installed", although the log shows no error message and ends with "success!".
Does anybody know, what I can do?
Regards
CJC
