Omega is a custom ROM.If you want a stock ROM you will need to flash one via Odin so let us know where your from.If you want you can update Omega instead.
Custom ROMs give you more options and more mods/themes etc. than stock ROMs also.

im just a little mad about Omega's rom speed its annoying
as i saw its abut 800 mg size and its too much i think and may be thats because it is slow
i just find a link "Guide to Install HyperLight ROM on Samsung Galaxy S3 l9300" its just 187.09 mg
whats your idea guys?
im a lil confused
please help me out

AOSP based ROMs take much less space than Samsung based ones, has nothing to do with speed

Try Batista70 2.4 + speedmod kernel K2-16...
Allow me to quote myself:

It gets asked all the time, and as one might expect, you'll just get replies from people saying "I use x ROM with y kernel and I recommend it because z".
There is no suitable answer to your question, instead I would recommend you take a deep breath and have a read through what's already been written and decide for yourself what to pick.

I'm running checkrom revolution atm. I've tried many roms and personally find this the best by far. There's online kitchen app with it a but like rom manager so you can change anything like themes, apps, widgets and even modems! Check it out

thats correct i think that i need to try and try some ROMs but im little bit confused need some advices i mean: like the top5 or top10 or roms so i can give it a try
thanks for all answers
i saw two CheckROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1251688
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312240
what are the differences between each other?
I have been using VillainROM for ages now, have tried the rest but keep going back to VR. Best battery and closest to stock (I don't normally theme).
However, your question is a bit subjective, everyone looks for different things in a ROM.
Best way is to try a few and see which you prefer.

Try Batista70 2.4 or 2.5. the best of the best!
I suggest you learn how to flash and try out a newer deodexed stock like KJ2, then start flashing customs if you don't like the behaviour of stock roms. Usually stock are very good with the right kernel.

Hardcore's SpeedMod K2-15 is pretty sweet. Give it a search up top ^
In my opinion HyperDroid-Androidmeda is one of the best ROM's
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288850
For sure it's worth to try. Some people were able to get over 6h display on this ROM
I recommend checkrom revolution v1 with cf root or speedmod and bigbanghds ICS theme. Looks nice, fast, good battery, mostly stable.

so the steps to flash my galaxy s2, are:
1-first root galaxy s2
2-then backup efs
3-then flash it with custom rom?
im right?
thanks
I wanna flash something similar to stock samsung, but better, like no home button lag, the samsung hubs removed, crapware removed, which rom do you like better? villain rom or cognition? both look similar

Should I get the official ICS update or flash CM9 and get ICS ?

Hello,
3 weeks ago,I got a GT-19100G galaxy s2.Pretty happy with it,everything is great except for TW of course So I need advice at whether I should get the official ICS update when its released in march(also thinking about giving the LB leak a try) which will use TW as far as I know or root my phone and flash the CM9 and get andy's costum ICS.Andy's ICS looks pretty nice but I don't wanna root my phone specially that I never rooted any device before(my previous device was nokia n81 8gb LOL).Or maybe I should just wait for the official release and get some sort of ICS themes or something.I'm currently running Android 2.3.6 baseband I9100GDZKK1 and Kernel 2.6.35.7.So what ya think ?
root..flash CM9..after ICS offiaclly released..flash back stock rom and get OTA..easy right??
Would be easy if I knew what the hell is OTA
Edit:Oh,I googled it.Its over the air.Well, why would I root it if I will flash back stock ROM again in 2 weeks ?
Personal view would be wait for ICS then wait for the modders to mod the official release .

I was thinking about that too...I think I'll just do that But just to be on the safe side,is it completely safe to root my phone and install CM9 ? Bcuz my phone is new and if anything happened to it,I'll kill myself.
FYI, the i9100G is not the i9100, therefore ICS leaks and CM9 will not work in your phone. If you do flash CM9 or one of the leaks your phone will be damaged. The i9100G is sort of crippled ROM developement wise from the start due to it's lack of Exynos in favour of some old TI-OMAP. Your only choice is to wait for Samsung to released ICS for your phone.

Lol,how is that possible ? O-o Does that mean I can't install any custom roms or its just the cm9 ?

IIRC, there is only one ROM available for your phone and that is SuperROM (Android 2.0.3). All other ROMs will brick your phone.
That's right. You can only install custom roms that are specifically written for the I9100G. And there aren't many of them. Someone on here said a couple of weeks ago that there are two (don't quote me on it tho).
If you flash a rom meant for any other SGS2 variant, as Xethor said, you run the risk of bricking your phone.

Damn...I had to get it since its the only S2 version available here. Why samsung ? Why would u make different versions of galaxy s2 ??!!! :/ Well I guess I'll just have to depend on launchers.I got Go launcher EX,launcher7 and ADWLauncher. If you by any chance know a nice ICS theme, can u give me the market link ?
At first I also didn't knew the difference between I9100 and I9100G. I bricked my phone by flashing one of the I9100 ROM. Then I figured it out, unbricked it again. And now i'm running SuperROM with ICS Domination v2.0 theme.
I9100G sucks big time, both in hardware and software.
Only four ROM's are available for 'G' variant:
SuperROM
Juffo ROM
Galaxyrom rc4
Darky ROM
Can't believe it took 6 replies for someone to point out to the OP that the G version is different to the International model. Lucky he didn't brick it. So glad the T version is the same except it requires its own modem.

[Q] New to GSII - Differences of rom version and fast how-to!

Hi everyone! I've had for an year an amazing Nexus S (aw.. so google..) and now I'm a very happy owner of a GSII (so freakin' fast!). I thouhgt to keep the telephone with the original rom waiting for ICS but... when I saw the so HEAVY personalization by samsung! Sigh... it's so Gingerbread! it even seems ICS!
Now the question.. I've seen so many acronyms near the roms. What they stand for? I mean like XXLPQ, LPQ, LPE, XXLPH or stuff like that.
And what if I would put on a rom that is PURE GOOGLE? I saw the WanamLite, is it stable/fast/daily-use? Do you suggest this or other roms?
How to install cooked roms? With the NS you have to unlock the bootloader, install the cwm and you're done. Do you have to unlock the bl with the GSII? Can I install the cwm with rom manager and then I'm done?
THANKS A LOT!

That is the firmware version and/or region. Latest is ICS XXLPQ.
I suggest you Checkrom v6 (soon ICS!) is the most stable popular and stable rom around.
Thanks, but how? xD
As I said I don't have idea. Any bootloader to unlock? Just download rom manager and install the cwm?
Start with the faqs guides and other stuff all sticked at the top of the page .

galaxy phones can be tricky if you came from a nexus. Basically you have to read the FAQs, but in terms of flashing stuff the biggest difference is that the recovery and kernel are linked. You can't flash a separate recovery, and that's why you can't use clockworkmod.
There is no bootloader unlock thingy also. But you'll need Odin instead.
Keeps these points on mind and then read the FAQs again. And good luck!

Check out galaxys2root.com. It has detailed video tutorials on everything you need.
I bought my GS2 only 5 days ago and already went through installing Resurection remix 9.4, 9.6 and 9.7 and loving it
I've just installed the Omega V5.0 ICS ROM and its awesome, and is based off the XXLPQ firmware
Method,
I started from a 2.3.5 firmware, rooted it using a cf-root-sgs2_xx_oxa_ki3-v4.1-cwm4.zip and odin.
I copied the Omega zip rom to my sd card, rebooted into clock work recovery (the chainfire kernel installed clockwork automatically)
Followed the instructions for doing the thee wipes on the Omega home page.
and did the install from the sd card.
Hope that helps some...
Obivously every custom rom has its own instructions.

Download your original or stock firmware and save it .Or just simply keep a copy of the file you flashed 2.3.6
Also which stock Rom to put and which is newest i mean on gingerbread not on ICS, and that rom i want to be more aware in battery saver thats my needs for now. And also if I put stock newest rom than also i need to flash the kernel or not???

Fail to understand are you confusing kernel with firmware or with a rooted kernel .

Honest opinion is you dont have enough knowledge to flash a phone that you do not own what are you going to do if you brick it buy him a new phone .

Hey, why not check this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674286
It will inform you with every category and sub-categories about all the roms you may choose from to install. Perhaps, if you dig enough, you'll discover that variant, that fits exactly to your needs.
Hope it will help you feel on the right tracks.
Thanks for the reference. It is still pretty confusing. I need to know which stock rom would provide me proper instalation of the latest version of android.
Should I just download the latest international rom? Or should i be concerned with any specific characteristic/spec of my phone?

Ok, based on your signature , you are on an international version of the s3 i9300, so you can choose a stock/custom rom in 4.1.2.
Just read the first post of the link I ve just sent you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26583587&postcount=1 , you will find all kind of samsung based roms to choose from. Just take your time and read. You ll find something for your phone, Android revolution , omega ,Wanamlite are really close to stock, but with tweaks. How about trying one of those three if you want something stock-like -and improved nonetheless?
Edit: And yes if you want to make it safe and easier, just install the latest image.

If you have the I-9300 you should install only the latest I9300XXELLA (4.1.2) which contains the fixes for multiple entry-points of the memory exploit discovered just weeks ago.
