Hello, I have the AT&T i717Note which is running the Gingerbread.UCLA1 build 2.3.6 and I am a bit confused on how to flash to the ICS 4.0.1.build. Can anyone point me in the right direction to flash the correct stock files
Try your hand at reading. The " Super Everything " thread in General section would be a good place to start.

Stock AT&T ICS 4.0.4
Simply use Odin to flash it.
No wipes necessary.
Good to keep this file in case you ever brick or just want to revert to stock.
Good luck.

Thanks for you're response was beginning to think I'd get no help. I have a lg-e739 or lg my touch 4g. Stick ROM I'd gingerbread 2.3.4. Same kernel as cm7 if I'm not mistaken. I'm a noob

Additionally, should I have wiped my data/cache and dalvik cache when installing a new ROM?

Yes, it is highly recommended.
Just a question. There are numerous sites on the internet that tells you how to install cm9 on sgs2. Others say that you dont need to flash a leaked ics. Others need you to install . Please help thanks.

Go by the guide on CM9 website. I played it safe and flashed the tar version via PDA in odin. Once that's installed you can then update to latest nightly. I've never had any issues with that process. All the best.

So sir did you install first a leaked ics or not? Thanks

Erm not sure I'm a bit of a flasher- holic. More than likely I was on a 4.0.4 based custom rom. If you do full wipes and format system then flash via odin I'm sure you will be fine as that's what I did. Please read CM9 guide though.

I dont have a computer....i need a flashable one through recovery
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Saurom is your only flashable GB build in this section..
Check the super thread at the top of the general section, and scroll down to the roms.
Read "carefully"....before flashing...
Saurom is a loaded version of 2.3.6 with many extras ....I like it ...g
Hmmm. Do you happen to have a backup of your stock ROM (gingerbread). From before you flashed a custom ROM? If so then all you need is the stock kernel and modem. I have a flash able zip for the stock recovery I can give you, but no longer have the kernel and modem on hand.

I dont i bought it with ics already on it

Well, your only other option is trying Saurom. Its about the only GB ROM you can flash. Otherwise you'll need to find a computer you can use to use Odin and follow the steps in the link I posted above.

I have a rooted galaxy s2 with an xwlp7 kernel. The jelly bean rom i saw was 4.1.2 XXLSJ. Will this work with my kernel?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
The kernel you currently have has no relation to a different ROM which has its own kernel.
Or to directly answer your odd question, no, your current non-JB kernel certainly will not work with a JB ROM.
But if you mean you want to install the JB-leak (or didn't you mean that?): that is possible. Your current kernel will be replaced.

Yes I meant the leaked version. Was just wondering if it can be done before attempting.

Yes that is possible. You can flash the official one, or one from a developer (I personally would recommend Neatrom). Good luck.

Samfirmware.com
We currently do not have an Odin flashable .tar in the note1 section.
We do have stock rooted versions in the super thread ....g
