I bought a branded (TIM) S3 in december 2012 and after a day I did the software update using the related settings menu option. Now the firmware is XXDLJ4 (Android 4.1.1).
Is there a way to know which firmware was previously installed?

Hi guys, am new here. I bought an SGS2 2 months ago, and it's the Middle Eastern version. I've tried repeatedly to update it via software update, but it won't update. My question is can I flash another region's update on my SGS2? and how do I do it?
I am new to android, and would appreciate some help.
Thanks.

Hi,
I've got to return my SG2 to Vodafone for a warranty repair, but I am currently running firmware from another thread here. Could someone please advise which vodafone firmware I should install from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
My phone details are:
PDA: I9100XWKI4
PHONE: I9100XXKI1
CSC: I900OXXKI2
Thanks in advance.
Ross
Ross
get your self over to sammobile.com all the firmwares are there just download a voda one and your all good i've just installed the latest offical ics version on mine oopps
Thanks for the reply.
Will just any vodafone one work? I've purchased a jig to reset the flash count, so I am hoping they fix it (having issues with the home button sticking).
I would go with this one I9100VODKI2 its dated october 2011 then at least you will have all the voda bloat ware on it and its a uk firmware. which i would think would solve your problems
Install an old one then update using kies...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
The firmwares are arranged from oldest first to newest last so the last one on the list for the UK is the newest version available for that carrier in the UK.
Thanks for inadvertently pointing out that I left out that bit of information. I've added it to the top.

Thanks for all the replies Sorry for the delayed response.
I'll flash it back to stock now
Thanks for all the help
Apologies if such an issue has already been covered, but I tried being as thorough as possible before posting.
So, I got a new S3 and I was all ready to root it and put the Foxhound 1.7 ROM in it. But the ROM says [LL5] and as much as I remember from my S2 days, that number corresponds to either the AP, CSC or MODEM number of your phone, right?
AP: I9300XXDLJ1
CP: I9300XXDLID
CSC: I9300OJVDLJ2
(XFE)
Question:
Will the ROM (and the latest CWM) work just fine in this phone? Or is [19 Oct 12, 18:24 [ROM][LJ1][19OCT] FoxHound 1.0|JB|Ota|Allin1|Stable|Ram Free|Essential/Norma] the only version for me?
this is the general forum, not for questions.
doesn't Q&A sound more suitable for questions?
this is just the version code, so it'll work

Yes, very sorry to the admins/moderators for the inconvenience. I had both the General and Q&A sections open, so I accidentally posted in the wrong one.
@glebun
"this is just the version code, so it'll work"
Thank you!
But just to be sure: So, as long as the ROM is made for the international S3, I don't need to fret about the modem, CSC, etc?
Hi
I am planning to buy the Samsung Galaxy S3 and had a couple of questions:
1) What is the current android version that has been pushed to Indian Users by Samsung.
2) If I take a EU phone (black colour), would I still get updates by Samsung India? Will I get updates from the original country?
3) Does the phone have international warranty?
The main reason for asking these questions is that I am debating between Google Nexus 4, S3 from India and S3 from abroad. I don't want to take the S3 from an EU retailer only to find that I neither get warranty nor software updates.
Questions go in the Q&A section, not general

Hi to everyone from Greece.
I own a Sg3 LTE (1st day today) and it has Vodafone Greece firmware inside. I want to change it to Cosmote Greece firmware.
I have download the I9305XXBLL5_I9305COSBLL4_I9305XXBLL5_HOME.tar.md5 from SamMobile and I don't know how to Flash it...
I try it from Kies to upgrade but the only firmware it finds is PDA:LL5 / PHONE:LL5 / CSCLL2(VD2) which is Vodafone Version I suppose.
How Can I flash the Cosmote firmware I9305XXBLL5_I9305COSBLL4_I9305XXBLL5_HOME.tar.md5?
THX.
George Greece.
