This is a weird to me. Currently using CM10 and using the network selector to change to roaming when at work (via Automatic selection). Yesterday, when I changed back to home network, my 3g signal wouldn't come back.
I've tried toggling airplane mode, wiped cache, but I really am at a loss as to how to get my signal back. Looking at the Phone info, it appears that I do have a sort of signal. If love if someone could help me out.

So 3g was working fine yesterday. And now it won't work. I can make calls. And use wifi. Haven't flashed anything. And even tried switching radio modes. Any help? Bamf 1.8 remix.
Thunderbolting to XDA
Have you tried toggling it?

Thunderbolting to XDA
Somehow mobile network got unchecked. World.fine Norway thx
Thunderbolting to XDA
Attempted to turn mobile data on the other day, nothing happened. Checked APN deleted and reinstated APN, tried toggling data from menu, toggled aeroplane mode, toggled 2g/3g and still no mobiledata.
I then tried the mobiledata widget again and wifi symbol appeared in status bar, not mobile data...
Rebooted phone and worked fine again after.
Didn't know a widget could alter its behaviour and still not sure how I lost data connectivity in the first place, ah well it works now

wow
exact same thing just happened to me
I had to re-download my internet settings, everything's alright now but I noticed that when I went to turn off the phone when this happened the silent and airplane modes was gone
Interesting to hear it wasn't a one off. Easily sorted but lets hope its not a symptom of something more serious

You dont have to reboot.
Press the wireless widget icon to turn off your wireless then press the mobile data widget to turn on mobile data. If the wireless icon still appears with mobile data on and wireless off, turn off mobile data and turn on wireless on then turn it off, then try turning on the mobile data again it should work

Thank you Izzy, I should have clarified that I was able to get the wifi icon to go away but was still unable to get mobile data until I rebooted, by use of widget or otherwise.

I've got the same.
My wifi was off but the icon stayed on the notification bar !
I have to reboot the phone to get right !
Im having troubles with my data connection. Basically, there isn't any data connection at all. Im sure that i have the correct APN. I can see the "E" (yes, its supposed to be E, its EDGE) next to the signal bars, but the upload/download arrows won't turn on. Its like its not even trying to connect. I can use WiFi fine.
I live outside US, in the Dominican Republic to be exact. Im using WetDream 1.4.4. Any solutions? Thanks!
Update: I tried with another SIM card with data enabled from another carrier, and the Atrix was able to connect to the data service fine, and i could access to the internet, but still no luck with my SIM. :\
BUMP =D
Try flashing a different kernel. I had the same problem and flashed faux's 1.3GHz unified kernel and now everything is working as it should

I called in for the exact same problem
The problem that was I did not have data on, and I had Data roaming on. So go to Settings > Battery and Data, and turn data on
Whenever I'm on WiFi I also have the 4g on display. Is this normal? I'm on stock.
No, it's not. When WiFi is on, you should be getting your data exclusively via WiFi so data over cell signal is stopped and the 4g symbol disappears. Are you sure you are connected to a WiFi network?

Yes I am 100% sure.
Same happens to me at times. I just turn data on then off and it goes away.

Hey this happens to me too!
Very annoying!
Also what's up with the phone switching back my preffered net work every time I reboot? I tik off "cdma only", but after reboot the phone puts it back to gsm/cdma...Grrrr
But yeah sometimes I have to turn off the data ( "connect to internet via phone") or it will intermittently switch between data and wifi

to whoever has that issue, do you use a data counter? just to verify where your data is going through
Happens on all my Androids. Not sure where my data is going through when they are both up in the Status bar. I don't ever hit my cap, so I am fine with it, but it is annoying.

Well, this is my second android phone and I haven't come across this issue before.
I would suggest that you check that your software is up to date. If it is, then power off the phone and pull out the battery, wait a minute then reinstall and power up. If that doesn't fix it, then I would factory reset it, but that's always a pain. If none of my suggestions fix it, then I'm at a loss.

This is because of "My Account" app by tmobile. It runs in the background and uses mobile network for connection to tmo servers (even if you have wifi turned on). Whenever you see mobile network turned on, just goto running applications and stop My Account and 4g/3g icon should go away. Its not just this phone, this would happen on any android device with my account app.
Hi all,
I went on vacations, had my phone on airplane mode most of the time. When I came back I turned airplane mode off and now I can only connect to 2g antennas, if I select 3G only I don't get any signal.
When I try to manually search for network operators I get a "Connection unavailable" message
Any idea of what might be going on/how to fix it?

I flashed cyanogenmod to see if it was the radio driver but that didn't help
Check your apn settings maybe

When I select 3g only I can't even configure apns, I don't even get cellular signal.
Don't select 3G only. Use automatic.
Also if you have subscribed to a 3G plan, keep your data connection ON and try a restart.
Even face this often as i travel between two distant places once in a month. First time i did a factory reset. But second time onwards this helped.
