[Q] Is my bootloader unlocked? Yes, I'm a noob - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

So, I know I've rooted my phone, but can't remember if I unlocked the bootloader as well. I've tried checking it with the vol down+home+power, but when I do that it just hangs at the "downloading.... do not power off target" screen.
Tried searching the forums, but the search feature is OOO right now and apparently this isn't a question common enough for google to answer it for me.

Do you remember running Adam's CASUAL application to unlock? There were a couple different methods for rooting, but Adam's was the only way to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery.
Hold Volume Up+Home+Power to boot into recovery. Do you have TWRP or CM Recovery? Or Stock Recovery? If you have TWRP or CM you're unlocked.

[Q] me860 confusions?

i have rooted atrix me860 4.5.2A.74.OLH-25 running stock 2.3.4 (rooted with doomlords/zergrush exploit method). bootloader is still locked. i am unable to enter clockworkmod recovery "failed entering boot 2" error.
some confusions since most of the section is labelled with mb860..?
1-which rom can i flash without unlocking boot loader?
2-can i flash roms meant for mb860?
3-can bootloader be unlocked after rooting or it has to be unlocked first?
4-are the procedures given here to unlock bloader for mb860 can be used for above me860?
using these phone in india.
thanks for help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423&highlight=me860
tried my luck and did it!!
after rooting i followed above link
to unlock.
in first attempt (bell sbf) i got stucked, i did battery pull & unlocked with fastboot as stated in above link in 2/3 attempts though.then flashed recovery. by this time i was unable to boot "no os detected". after searching i did battery pull and powered with vol down continuosly thus i reached android recovery, pressed vol up and entered recovery.
from recovery flashed topsmart rom as per developers instructions and booted in successfully. its working very well.
NOTE:do a full charge before attempting.
PROBLEMS:
1)my internal sd memory is not mounting/unusable, but external SD 32GB working good.
2)every time i reboot a screen showing some 10 boot options comes before boot animation, i dont know whether its normal or not?
but its working very well.

[Q] Can't install root

I just used the official RUU from HTC to update to 4.2.2. I have and have used the all-in-one tool to unlock the bootloader, and pushed supersu.zip to my phone. but I can't figure out how to install it.
When I try to boot into recovery mode, I get a blue/neutral phone with a red triangle and red exclamation point. From here, I can only access a menu by pressing power and volume up. Nowhere in this menu can I find a way to install supersu.

Run the RUU again, http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader (follow the instructions), flash TWRP (http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/131), and then in recovery, select reboot, and there should be instructions to root. When you are rooted and want to switch to CWM, just do fastboot flash recovery recovery.img again.
Rooting isn't as hard as it seems, and you shouldn't need to use a root toolkit.
I missed loading a different recovery. I apparently was a lot more tired than I thought.

we should be collaborating

The L90/F90/G2 mini are all very similar phones. In case you guys haven't noticed, we at the volt community have successfully booted a working copy of cwm. I would post a link if I could but you guys can find our active forum at android forums.

Could you please provide a link.
Thank you.
BTW if you have a look in the dev sections you'll find:
The L90 section here at XDA have booting CWM, TWRP and CM11.
Here in G2 mini we have working CWM, TWRP and Philz touch.
Custom kernel and CM11 or/and Omni Rom to follow.
Cheers,

I'm sorry. I hadn't realized there was working recovery and Roms already. I was only following the general forum not the development forum.

At this moment we have working recovery but are having trouble flashing it. It will run if loaded via fastboot, but if we flash it in any way we get an error.

Your phone seams to have a locked boot loader.
This is the reason why you get the security error.
Read the thread about unlocking boot loader in dev section, it may help you to, as it works for some other LG phones.
You can find a hacked bootloader for LG F90 - LS740 here:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/a682b8a7b7f2/Hacked boot
I'm the reason that "hacked" bootloader is there, but it doesn't work, also I've already booted into fastboot and unlocked the bootloader. I can boot an image via "fastboot boot" but flashing doesn't work. If I boot to recovery via vol- + power it will boot to a black screen and when you plug it in will show multiple drives. If I boot to recovery via adb "reboot recovery" it will momentarily show the boot certification verify error then go to that same black screen. We can however successfully backup and restore nandroids via cwm through fastboot boot and flash other files, flashing recovery from cwm will throw a bunch of errors and reboot cwm.

Yes, your bootloader is still locked. 'fastboot oem unlock' doesn't do the full job.
On my LG G2 mini it changes the bootloader slightly but has no effect.

Can't access recovery

So I clumsily installed an Android L GPE esque rom for my at&t HTC one m8 however, after looking over the rom again, I realized that it's a verizon rom after it was already installed. I can't sign into google nor can i access anything that requires internet, obviously. I tried booting into recovery however when i did that it just booted back into the normal OS. I'm not too experienced with flashing roms and things of that sort so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried booting into recovery in adb? Just "adb reboot recovery" in adb.
Witch method have you used to boot into recovery.if you have root use this app
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9vf00xru9mxlvme/Quick_Boot_4.1.apk?dl=0
Its not a link to the playstore so it should work even without having a Google account.download ,install, open and tap recovery (it will ask for superuser rights and if rooted than it will boot straight to your recovery.if your recovery is no good than here is the
TWRP .img
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ur89sz3gk1w1xw3/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.3-m8.img?dl=0
And how about an app to flash that recovery

How are you trying to boot recovery? Can you get into bootloader okay? When some folks say they can't boot recovery, it actually means they are having trouble getting into bootloader. If that is the case, simply hold down the power and vol up buttons to force a reboot. Then the instant the screen goes dark to reboot, let go of those buttons and just hold the vol down button until the bootloader comes up. If the phone just boots normally, you either started pressing vol down too late, or let go of it too early. So just try again.
Or as previously mentioned, just try adb reboot recovery.
Now, if you mean adb reboot recovery, or selecting recovery from bootloader just boots the phone normally; you likely just need to re-install recovery. fastboot erase cache, then use fastboot to flash recovery again. Make sure you are using the newest version of your chosen recovery.

Remember that most people don't know how to use or set up adb/fastboot .

Oh, trust me, that is in my mind quite well!
If anyone is messing with their phone (and especially trouble shooting an issue), and don't know how to use these tools; then they need to learn them.
While your suggestions are "easier' in this particular case, adb/fastboot is the only way in the (somewhat common) event that the phone can't boot into OS.

I agree 100%

Kernel + TWRP

Hello guys,
So i've tried to flash twrp on my m4 aqua (e2303) for a few days, but with no success. I tried fastboot and flashing apps for the phone (flashify says it cant find the recovery partition, something like that). In fastboot it says that its installed but it is not. It doesn't boot to recovery (tried it with button combinations, adb command and flashify's in app option)
I managed to unlock the bootloader with flashtool and flash the boot.img with fastboot that gives root access, but no success with flashing twrp.
So i was wondering is there a kernel that i can flash with the flashtool, which has an included twrp ?
The kernels that i found don't include any custom recoveries in them... Any help ?
Thanks in advance

TWRP should be installed with fastboot if it says it's installed. What button combination did you do? Hold power button and volume down sinulateneously till it vibrate then continuely smash the volume down button. Should boot.
