I can proudly present our new ROM - in development: MIUI
This ROM is based on Mevordels latest CM10 build (22-01-2013) and contains all the good stuff of that particular ROM.
Features:
MIUI, full of nice features:
- Beautiful user interface
- Fast and fluid
- MIUI backup, no titanium backup needed anymore!
- MIUI space, free online space
- Extended notification area, the place to quickly edit some settings
- Password protection: protect your apps agains unwanted users by locking them with a pin
- Permission manager: manage all the (root) permission of every app. E.g. block facebook to look up your location, to auto start etc.
- Themes with easy personalisation
- DPI set to 200 by default
- Whatsapp! ​
What doesn't work:
- Same things as with the CM10 ROM (bluetooth, earpiece speaker, etc)
- Missing performance menu within the settings menu
- Wrong RAM memory value (it isn't 512mb )
- USB connection (only charging, no storage feature)
- Not using the original MIUI home, just a port of it (see planned features)​
Planned features/fixes:
- Original MIUI launcher and theming engine (working on it)
- Removing the 'No Service' message in the notification bar
- Adding a performance tab to the settings app
- OTA updater, to keep your ROM up-to-date easily!

FAQ:
CWM gives status 6 and a error when updating to beta3
- You propably have the beta 3.0 version, to solve the problem download beta3.1
Why can't I use Root?
- You can use Root, but it needs to be enabled first, to do so open the Permission manager app
--> 'Manage Root Permissions' and toggle the switch in the upper right corner.​Extra notes:
- KOala888's Mercurius kernel is fully compatible with this ROM. However, the standard clockspeeds have been set to 1GHz, to get higher speeds and voltages, download an overclock app like Voltage Control, Tegrak or something else.​

Came over from PA and there was loads of FC's on apps. Might be cause I had changed the system UI ect. through PA. I'll turn it to Phone UI then try a re-flash.

What have you done? Have you flashed over another ROM or a fresh install? And if you've over flashed a ROM, which one did you have before miui?

Some people might want their onscreen buttons (like Home, back, multitask and their menu buttons) back. When you open that file (in the systems root) you will find a line with extra comments about what to change to enable that bar.

Well, about boot.img editing, I have really limited time now..... exams are coming, prom tommorow etc.
Also I think you can do that on your own, It requires only using a kernel kitches, there are some comptaible to windows too

Little update from my side: I've found the solution for the MIUI launcher, there is a special MIUI service (shelld) which needs to be executed on boot. However, to do this, I need to edit a file called init.rc which can be found in boot.img. To open that file I need to extract boot.img. And that's the problem. Because Samsung wasn't really following Google's guidelines about how to create a boot.img file, I'm unable to extract it with the regular tools . There are alternatives, but they are very hard to find...
What I'll do now is looking for alternatives. Secondly I will contact some people who might have some experience in unpacking a boot.img or a zImage file...
