Broken Amaze to bare fundamentals of owning a phone - HTC Amaze 4G

Today, I wanted to flash myself to the "stock RUU" provided by Wind Mobile for my HTC Amaze (4.0.3). Since I no longer had the stock recovery to flash this and, for some reason my phone had cleared the backup I made of HTC sense, I decided to use a trick I read on the forums. This trick some of you may had heard is to Relock the bootloader. Which I did using Hasoon2000's Amaze All in one tool kit. My problem after I had done that was it displayed a "Security Error" in the Bootloader and, each time I turned off the device it will put me in the bootloader with that devastating message. So being the person I am I panicked and, reverted back to what I knew before. So I had unlocked the bootloader again, without having access to Android so far. Now as I turned on the phone, I was greeted with the Cyanogenmod 10 bootscreen. I had thought that it was over. However I could have not been more wrong. It would not get passed the screen. I kept it there for a good hour. Again I knew my next course of action is to go into my recovery which is 4ext for your information. It took longer then usual to get into the recovery. In the past it only took the recovery to the count of 11 to get in however this time at the count of 21 . "Please wait! Recovery takes a long time booting without access to /internal_sdcard" at around the count of 42 it says "Error mounting sdcard" Then the recovery booted into safemode. In safe mode I cannot run backups recoveries or anything. After a bit of looking around at what I can and cannot do I decided to wipe the cache and, return to factory settings. This seemed to work because, Now I can boot into Cyanogenmod 10. However I am now encountering my roadblock. Apps and, the system cannot access the SD saying it is not mounted. Which I find ridiculus because, I had been able to save my Google Account, It synced my settings and, background and, gave me my wifi pass code. I am also to set alarms and, rearrange icons on my homescreen. Now I am not entirely sure but, I am almost certain to does kind of changes you need to write to the internal memory. Another odd thing is I can flash recoveries onto the device from my PC using Hasoon2000's tool. Which from what I remember while dragging files to my phone a week before this is saved to the internal storage. Unfourtionatly I think the worst that there is some corruption on the phone storage. All I know is I cannot install Apps,Can not access my storage in anyway but, use all basic services like phone calls text messages and, data. If any of you have encountered this problem and, fixed it please tell me I am stuck with a crippled phone for another year until I have the ability to purchase another.
Thank you for reading all this I wanted it to be in detail so I won't need to write it later on. Hope this issue can be solved ASP but, I am not picky as of when it can get fixed. If you skimmed it please read it all the way through.

I have not tryed to but it maybe possible since 4ext does show me I have a possibility to format my card. However I am afraid if I do this and, it does not work I maybe left with a pretty serious softbrick. So I need to be insured that I won't brick my device before I get to doing that. Thank you for the suggestion I will take it into account as a last ditch effort if nothing else which seems more favorable to me comes in.(or if I can build up the courage to do it which ever one comes first)

Are you s-on? I don't think you can flash ruu of you are. You need to place the ruu on you SD card and rename it to PH85IMG (for t mobile, may be different for wind). Install it from boot loader. Search the return to stock thread for more info

Thank you over much for posting a reply however, my current problem is that my Amaze won't read or write to the phones storage. (Or mount the internal storage) However, thanks for telling me this it will come in handy once I fix my current issue.

You have to do that on the external card. Try putting the stock ruu on a micro sd and rename it PH85img and then boot into bootloader.

[Q] Boot Manager Issues. About to rip my hair out.

title shows the way it is...i've had it UP TO HERE with Boot manager.
I love the HTC Sense 4.1 camera on Newts HTC One XxX ROM but I dont like the bloaty sense framework that It has...right now i'm running AOKP 1.6 Linaro because it's fast and has no sense. unfortunately, I can't have both..and I found out that an app can "dual boot" your phone into 2 separate ROMS so that you can enjoy both. However i've been having NOTHING but PROBLEMS with boot manager. What started off as a simple idea has become a curse spewing nightmare
I'm s-Off and running Snuzzo's kernel from AOKP 1.6
1. I've searched the forums and done everything that other people have said
2. I'm using the Lite Version of Boot Manager since I only need one slot.
3. I have errors with "Error building new boot.img"
4. Disabled SU Logging and even wiped and tried SuperSU instead! (with logging disabled of course)
5. tried to install slot 1 via Zip file AND NANDROID BACKUP. Still having issues!
6. When installs are successful with no errors, when rebooting into the SDCARD Rom it just hangs at the HTC splash screen. mocking me.
7. Tried installing from external and internal storage..same problems...and i'm having a flip flop issue as well in regards to that..**
I'm at my wits end and am about to scrap this whole dual boot idea
**What I will say is that file explorer apps show my SD card as Internal Storage. and the internal storage shows my SDcard files...dafuq?! maybe SD card format?? that's for another forum question though...
If anyone can help me get this to work..I'll thank you and be sure to buy the app. But as for now...I'm glad I didn't spend my damn money!

From what ive heard the app has been abandoned by the developers. I wanted to dual boot too but I got the same error with the error building new boot.img as well so i quit trying. btw are you s-off? the app requires s-off so it can flash the other boot.img of the Sd roms.

yes..I'm S-Off and recently in April of this year the developer made an update to support the Rezound. So even if the app has been abandoned for future devices....it supports the Rezound...and I've looked in the forums and people HAVE got it working on the Rezound. what about the other people that have got it working???...how come they didn't have to quit?
Maybe the AOKP ROM i'm using is bad (since the SD CARD and INTERNAL MEMORY labels are switched and it possibly is confusing the boot partition)...perhaps I should try installing the AOKP Rom on sense
Took me a few tries but I did this :
Use ext4
Use internal sd
Force screen on
Install from nandroid
For me it's actually easier to just restore nandroids if u wanna jump from one rom to another..

In AOKP the labels are switched..so use the bullet option "external SD" because the internal SD is labeled as the external.
INTERESTING: when I set boot manager to install to internal (i have to select "external) it STILL installs it to the sdcard but in a folder that says sdcard/sd-ext.
NOT to the actual internal memory. I will move that folder to the real internal memory when the install finishes and see if it will work. If not. I'm almost POSITIVE that the switched Internal Memory and SD card labels in AOKP are to blame...and it that's not the problem. boot manager can f$#k itself.
Edit: I fuking quit. I did everything and the install worked from a sense ROM.but it past the splash screen and hung at a black screen.
I'm such a whore for screencast and that 4.1 Sense camera..i'll stay with One xXx for a while (even though sense ROMS are against my grain)
Boot manager hasn't worked properly with aosp since the mount points were fixed in aosp. It's the way it differs from sense. Using emmc as internal unlike sense which It's mounted as sd card. You can use it to switch between sense roms all you want to but not aosp

im not sure if this is one of the problems but i noticed when i tried to use it earlier that it asked if i was on the newest hboot (2.21) or an older one but we are actually on 2.27 so that could be messing with things
I used to use Boot Manager with 2.25 with no issues, and there isn't much difference between 2.25 and 2.27.
I'm in a very similar boat....I have a recent ota RUU and s-off and bootmanager actually installs for me (yay) but I never have data. EVER. Data never works for any slot roms, only for my phone rom. I hear this is because of AOKP vs sense. My phone rom is Viper rom, and I tried to put AOKP linario for my slot 1. It installs and boots fine but I dont have data. I also tried MIUI but again no data. However if I put them on my phone rom, I have data. I figured I put it on the phone rom, make a nand, put viper back as my phone rom, then nand restore MIUI or linario to a different slot ..... no go - still no data. I think I read here that at this point I can only user boot manager to switch between sense roms and not between aokp/sense.
If it's also true that they dropped support for it I will be extremely sad. I paid for an app that doesn't even work/have suppor then .......
I actually just pm'd both devs the other day. I'd have emailed but their email rejects anything saying "over quota" or something. And their forums give me a 500 http server error.
If you make and headway let me know because I'm lost too

[Q] Flashing to obtain memory swap

Hey guys,
I've been lurking for a little while now and reading up on steps I need to follow to swap my internal and external memory, but I wanted to clarify something to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong. First off, I have a Verizon Note 2 that I rooted using Odin and running "Jelly Beans build.1 VRALJB 4.1.1 by Beanstown106". That's as far as I've gone thus far. I tried just using directory bind to install apps to my external micro sd card, but that program has too many issues to use reliably. Apps were forcing close and the app itself was glitching. I've decided to run a memory swap mod, but from what I've gathered, I'll need to unlock the bootloader and flash a new rom. So here's my plan (please let me know if there's some flaw in it):
1) I'll unlock the bootloader using AdamOutler's guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043636
2) I figured the next easiest step would be to just flash a custom rom that includes the memory swap in it inherently, like the angelROM TouchWiz debloat build here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055073&nocache=1
Thanks for any info you folks can provide. This is my first time jumping into advanced Android modifying and I'm nervous about mixing the wrong builds/roms and bricking my phone.
P.S. One last thing: Does anyone know if AFTER having run the mod to swap memory, if you can transfer all the data to a new (larger) memory card and swap them out? I have a 32 GB card but intend to get a 64 GB one in the next few days. Can I flash the angelROM build now and then just swap them when I get the larger card or will that cause issues?
There shouldn't be any issue as long ss you turn off the phone and then remove the 32GB SD and use your computer to handle the swap. It wont break anything if the phone is on but it'll make it act a smidge wonky imo.
Also: http://db.tt/NtrxYbU8
Its a zip that will switch the sd card positions. This isnt my original work but I use it because it works no questions asked.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm still a little nervous about whether or not I'm missing a step between unlocking the bootloader and then jumping into the "memory swap ROM" immediately. Can anyone verify that my plan is correct and whether or not the angelROM w/ memory swap mod is OK on our Verizon Note 2's?
As long as you use the angelROM for the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Development section you will be fine. After unlocking the bootloader via Adam's process you should have TWRP recovery, which will allow you to fladh the rom.
Download the rom to either your internal storage or your external storage.
Extra: from what I have been told flashing modem's (new radios) that leak will screw up the current ROM you are using. So if new radios leak anytime soon and you are still running the sd card swap you will need to undue that if you plan to flash them.
Extra 2: I can't vouch for it myself because I'm having my own problems after undoing the zip file i shared, but I know undoing the zip is as easy as using root explorer to delete the alteration in the init.d file under etc, so theres that.
Tl; dr: after you unlock the bootloder you are good to run the swap.

Great, thanks again for all your help! I'll give it a go tonight. I'm actually fairly techie and have hacked many devices in the past, but I feel like modding Android devices is probably one of the toughest yet. There are just so many variations of rom builds and hacks, coupled with the confusion of WAY too many android devices and specifics for different carriers... It's hard keeping everything straight. Thanks again! :good:
Omg this is a God sent post! Ok so I have the 16gb and I only have 2gigs left lol,... Ok but what happens when you flash a new rom or an update from Verizon comes out am I going to have to revert back and be tranfering data each time? Will recovery recognize the memory swap? After the memory swap will I have to move or copy everything over before or after the swap, if after how will it boot if it thinks it's OS is on the memory card now.... If I revert back does that mean the OS needs to be copied back to internal memory before the swap... Ughhhh this is too much but I LOVE my phone and there is no other way I have to get this working... I really hope they improve this method

So to answer some questions:
It will revert back to normal between roms. Thats why I recommend using the zip I posted. Again its not my work and I am not taking credit for it. But that zip can be applied to any rom.
You should worry more about losing the bootloader and root under new software because most likely that will happen.
I suggest doing a clean install with the swap, and not installing apps. Otherwise you will have to move stuff manually.
Rom will continue to work if you want to remove the init.d file but most likely have sd card issues as I am seeing. Instagram doesnt recognize I have an sd card in. Its hit or miss and in now way reflects the owners work, its the nature of the beast unfortunately.
Hope that helps
EDIT: The zip isnt rom specific, whereas angelROM is specifically for that rom

Lets say you use cyanogen right? And a new version of the rom comes out. It will recognize whatever is currently your external and internal, but when you flash a new rom it will revert back to original paths.
EDIT: This doesn't apply to the angelROMs that have the switch pre applied

That I am unsure of. Because data wipes everything I believe it would get rid of the init.d file so it woukd revert back to normal, but I'm not 100% sure on that

Ok, so I followed the steps I detailed in my OP and everything went pretty well. I'm running angelROM v4 and wanted to update to the v6 that was posted but I'm unable to boot back into recovery mode now... After initially unlocking, I made a nandroid backup in TWRP, but now I can't seem to get back into recovery mode. I power off and hold volume - & power but the phone just boots back up normally. Is there something I'm missing here? Does flashing a new rom remove the TWRP recovery option or something?
Never mind. I apologize if I wasted anyone's time with this. I figured out I can reboot into recovery mode by using Rom Toolbox. I just figured there would be a shortcut that would allow me to do it without it also.
Ok so your not able to use the power + up key combination like normal?

You know, I never saw in any of my searching any indication that "volume + & power" was the correct key combination to boot to recovery. Everything I found said that to boot into recovery mode in TWRP, you need to use "volume - & power", not volume +. I'll give that a go. Thanks!
By the way, I'm just about ready to give up on this whole memory swap mod thing. Has anyone gotten it working without issues? The angelROM I posted about earlier worked but when apps were installed they didn't get allocated to the correct memory. For example, I first attempted to install some of my backups from Titanium Backup Pro, and when I did that, the apps installed to the (switched) "card" memory. Which, of course, is pointless, since the whole idea is to get them to install on the external sd card so the device can hold more apps. I initially figured this was probably a limitation with restoring apps in Titanium Backup, so I tested installing some apps directly from the google play store. When I did that, those apps ended up taking up memory on BOTH storage locations. Example: EXT MEM had 10 GB and INT MEM had 4 GB before I installed a 1 GB app. AFTER installing that app, my EXT MEM had 9 GB and my INT MEM had 3 GB.
At that point I figured it was probably an issue with the angelROM itself so I ditched it and moved on to Bean's Revision 4 (which I like the look of more anyway). That happens to have a "memory swap" option so I enabled that and I'm getting the EXACT same issues. So my question is this: has anyone been able to use the memory swap mod and install apps on the external sd card WITHOUT the app taking up equal space on the internal storage? If so, what did you do to get it to work?
P.S. I'd post these questions in the angelROM thread or bean's revision 4 thread, but being new here, my post count is still too low to ask questions on the development boards. Thanks!

I doubt it's your SDcard. Its mount point is at /sdcard, not /cache. Sounds like you either need to wipe your cache or you're trying to do something with s-off when you're still s-on.
This is making the assumption that you're trying to flash an update via recovery. If not, please ignore.

It still sounds to me like it's not an SDcard issue since the mountpoint isn't /sdcard, but after looking at some Google results I could be wrong. Do you still get the error if you boot with the SDcard removed?

I'm not sure. But I really don't wanna pull the sd. That requires taking the battery out and if I do that I'm stuck in a boot loop.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
I believe you can unseat the SD card without entirely removing it or the battery. If not, no big deal.
What method are you using to flash the RUU? It seems to me like the installer would automatically wipe the /cache directory, but that's probably not a safe assumption to make. At this point it couldn't hurt to install 4ext and make absolutely sure all partitions other than sdcard are wiped. Also, do you get any mount errors other than /cache/recovery/command?
I would try the following, seeing if there is progress after each step:
1) Unseat the sdcard without removing the battery, if possible. If not then skip this step.
2) Install 4ext and wipe cache (all cache, not just davlik)
3) Remove battery and remove sdcard. I know this sucks and you'll get boot loops, but it doesn't matter because the next step is:
4) Wipe all partitions other than sdcard. Even wipe sdcard if you've got a backup. Then attempt an RUU install.
If none of these work, I'm out of ideas. Maybe someone else can chime in. I know there used to be a lot of reports from other devices about /cache/recovery/command and some other directories not being mountable when the eMMC died. It's possible yours is dying and the cache is getting corrupted by hardware failure. That's a worst case scenario, but we gotta eliminate all other possibilities before we make that call.

Yes when I try to wipe the cache in stock recovery I get a bunch of mourning errors. Recovery.log last.log and a few others. I'll try yo get the SD out. If not I'll install 4ext and try to wipe cache. How would I go about wiping my partitions? I can use 4ext without root correct? Thanks!

Installing 4ext without root should be no problem. Just make sure the device is unlocked using the HTC Dev Tool (mandatory). Then go through the flashboot process for recovery.img. It couldn't hurt to install SuperSU while you're in there, though that's outside the scope of what we're trying to repair right now. Once you're in 4ext, under the Wipe menu, there should be an option for "Wipe all partitions other than sdcard" (paraphrased). Go with that. Though if the stock recovery didn't do it, I don't have high hopes for 4ext to be able to.
The fact that you're getting multiple mounting errors leads me to believe you have a bad eMMC. If all the steps from the previous post fail, that'll tell you for sure.

Okay. Just gotta wait since I let my dad borrow my laptop. Should be home soon. If it is emmc, where does that put the phone? Beyond repair? If so I'm not to worried since I'm upgrade eligible soon. Just worried that I'm gonna get stuck in a bootloop and have to use the recovery option from fast boot since thats the only thing that cures the bootloop (until next battery pull) and start over again. Pain in the butt!

I would recommend that you do a Titanium Backup, but since you don't have root that's out of the question. Kind of an unfortunate situation. I've never done this, but it seems like you could probably use Online Nandroid to make a nandroid backup of your working system. Then if you ever get stuck in a boot loop, you could restore the backup to your current (hopefully) working configuration. It doesn't help you right now, but it might help in the future. Just make sure to root it while you're doing all this.
I believe eMMC is on the main logic board. You might want to call Sprint to confirm, but it stands to reason that you could probably swap in another one. I'm noticing a couple on eBay in the 30-40 dollar range. Not sure if there are any phone-specific values on the logic board that make the board unswappable, but hopefully Sprint could tell you for sure.
Maybe you'll get lucky and that's not the problem anyway.

Normally i use App Monster Pro. No root. Im going to back up and and flash the recovery right now. Ill let you know what happens. Hopefully this works.
well i removed the battery and sd card and replaced the battery and she booted up fine! no bootloop this time. Maybe its the sd after all? but i think your right cause i get cant mount cache recovery command and thats not on the sd like you said. Im going to boot back down, remove battery reinstall sd and then see if it boots up.
EDIT: reinserted sdcard and it booted up fine AGAIN. Why phone?! haha. Wonder what was causing the bootlooping when the battery was removed?
I checked for those locations in my cache directory and they don't exist for me either. That probably means they're created dynamically during recovery, but I know very little about what happens behind the scenes there. Maybe certain parts of your cache are unwriteable. Just to clarify, the mount errors happened even while the sd card was out and continued to exist even after it was put back in, right? Maybe it's the sd card after all if not. Any errors while wiping all the partitions?
Glad to hear that it's at least sort of working for now. Couldn't hurt to do a nandroid backup anyway just in case it happens again while you're out and about and don't have time to do a full manual reinstall.

Can anyone provide me with LazyPanda?

I Mods please close if this is against the rules.
I've spent the last two nights trying to s-off with dirty racun, but have nothing but issues. I've asked the overlords in #unlimited if LazyPanda is still available for download, and was told no.
I've downgraded to hboot 1.12 using the Jet toolkit, and now would like to use LazyPanda to achieve s-off. I'd like a copy of LazyPanda to get s-off.
Is it worth my while to pursue this or just wait until Unlimited provides a tool for the new JB hboot?
Edit-I'm a jackass and didn't put this in Q&A. Can I be moved please?
Edit 2- specifically the Linux version of LazyPanda.
check your pm boss
I'm on hboot 1.12 also. Is there an advantage to using lazy panda vs dirty racun?
I was thinking of RUUing to 1.15 then using dirty racun is that a bad idea?
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I used dirtyracun last night to ruu to 1.15 and s-off. It was painless....
I just had to relock my boot loader, RUU to upgrade my hboot, and then relock and let the coon do its thing...
It was easy
It turns out I just had a bad sdcard. I used racun to run to 1.19 and s-off from there. Got root, installed twrp, restored nandroid, and all is good. Updated radio and pri, and will remove red text from splash screen tomorrow.
Damn technology always making you think you got it right then not working.

I need the link too. There's no way I can afford 1GB bandwidth + unlock + relock + unlock + tool + ADB (fastboot) + ...
I want the simple, easy, 1-click LazyPanda. There's no way I can waste all that time and effort and bandwidth for some long-winded useless new process. I am proudly hboot 1.12. The idiots kicked me out of the chatroom when I even asked nicely for a link to the old version. Worthless egotistical buffoons.

Sent you a PM.
The old version (Lazy Panda) is not supported by Team Unlimited anymore, hence why they didn't provide it to you. If you get in a bind using it, you're pretty much on your own.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
If someone does need this send me a pm, I used it when I first got my LTE, and I save pretty much everything

You're a lifesaver! Not to mention a time-saver and a heck of a good bandwidth saver. Got it done in ~1MB rather than 1000.
I'm also on HBoot 1.12 and need a copy of LazyPanda
Someone please PM me a copy of the latest LazyPanda
I'd rather use that than DirtyRacun
Thanks in advance, zmag

Thanks, but a few issues..
Upon initial boot, I had to call customer service to reactivate phone.
Then, when I enter my 64gb sd card, it's empty.
I got my phone able to call/txt - but where do I go from here.
I get a constant notification that reads "Phone storage is empty" - Then when clicked, it says I can Format or Cancel - when I press Format, nothing happens and the notification comes up again
I backup my apps on the regular, but...
When I go to Root Explorer, it says sdcard (sdcard2 doesn't show) and when I click sdcard it says "The SD Card is not currently mounted" (even when it's in the sd card slot)
How do I get back to normal?

I remember when I did LP I had the same issues had to call sprint and reformat my sdcard and like you it wouldn't allow me to format it in the phone I had to pull it and put it in another phone and format that way
With lazy panda there's a chance your card will be wiped, that's why its best to use a spare card...dirty raccun too. You have to reformat your card unfortunately.

Well, after Googling "i cant format my sd card" i found the 2nd entry, which lead me to an app called SDFormatter V3.1 - I had to install drivers for sdxc for Win XP (86)
I'm giving it a go now, if that doesnt work I'll try formatting it in another phone...
I really can't afford to spend another 100 bucks on a card today *keeps fingers crossed*
---
As of typing this, the SDFormatter says:
---
Memory Card Format complete !
Please remove the Memory Card.
QUICK FORMAT
("Flash Erase" operation has been cancelled because this device didn't support it.)
Volume Information
- File system: exFAT
- Total space = 59.4 (63,831,015,424 Bytes)
- Cluster size = 131072 Bytes
---
I will post my results in a few to let you know if it worked!
---
SOLVED!
After using SDFormatter V3.1 and popping the card back into my phone, after booting up it gave me a notification "Phone storage damaged"
So I clicked on it, and it gave me the Format option again... Voila, it's working superbly now!
I saved myself money, I'll ignore my aggrivation for being a dumbass and not backing up my SD Card in it's entirety... however, I'm kindof OCD when it comes to backups, so I have all my backups up until about Feb 02.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP/IDEAS! - kaltorak
Auto-Rotate not working?
Another weird glitch (hopefully someone can help/experienced this before)
I've noticed ever since all these other issues (which I've 97% resolved) the auto-rotate doesn't seem to be working at all.
When I say "at all", when I turn apps to landscape mode, the screen won't turn...
Any way I can fix this? Oh, sometimes when I open apps it will open in landscape mode, but when I turn the phone to portrait it still won't rotate...
Quite annoying, anyone know if there's some app or data I can restore to fix this (only thing I can think of)
Or if there's another way, I'm willing and able to try anything.
Thanks in advance, zmag

Yeah so... lmao.
I encountered the same problem before (I searched auto-rotate)
I had a seperate post.
I placed my phone on the floor, G-Sensor Calibration - done.

Now here's another I noticed...
You know how when you select a word when writing, the text is magnified in the box - the box is empty and in the wrong spot.
Help! lol
PS: I won't be able to fix this one myself.
PPS: When I do a TWRP Backup, should I select all 5 checkboxes? Will this help? (All my backups only used the default 3)

Sounds like a rom issue not a lazy panda issue... And yes the 3 selections are fine. All 5 will not hurt but unnecessary.

[Q] Rezound internal memory

I installed INFECTION 2.9.1 over my rooted ICS installation, but decided I liked the look of the ICS sense better, so I decided to restore my nandroid image of ICS. It booted up but got stuck on the screen right after the white HTC one. I flashed back to jellybean and tried a FACTORY RESET. It reboots me into RA-VIGOR with the error message "E:Invalid command argument"
I can boot back into jellybean but now it is telling me there is NO INTERNAL memory. Where did it go?
Have I killed my phone here?

No you just didnt read threads or previous quiestions...upon moving from stock to a 4.2 based rom you got the bug from memory on that...you need to switch to twrp if not on that and mount and partition your emmc and internal sd card....this has been a known bug for the longest time now....dont use Amon Ra (RA-VIGOR) as it gives bugs on rom installs for any rom really and it doesnt play nice....such as possible phone overheats, battery drain, and many random reboots even after not upping your min frequency

Yep, you are right, I did not read previous threads as I did not know there was a problem with Amon Ra when I first installed it. The Infection 2.9.1 thread recomemended using it! Anyhow, I have since got a message pop up on the screen that said something about bad memory and told me to format it. I did, and now I can see my internal storage again. It is now empty of course, but what was on it when it was factory ? Is there anywhere I could get a copy of those files from?

Yep, the software that was on it before formatting. It was just whatever default files were on the phone from the factory, and I assume some of them files were to restore the phone to factory. Is there anywhere I could find those files and just copy them back to the phone?

Oh, so I don't need any of the files that were on the internal memory then? That would be good. Hey, as you seem to be very knowledgeable about all this (and i'm most definatly not , what I ultimatley would like is jellybean with the sense clock and weather . I also noticed from the infected rom that the camera did not report how many pictures could be taken with the available memory left. Is there is a rom out there can satisfy my needs? The phone is S-on BTW

Yes, it is the internal 10gb that I meant. For a while it was not showing, either on the phone or in windows. After the message on the phone came up to format it (which I did) I could then see it in both windows and on the phone. I had not taken any notice of what was on it beforehand. I have only had the phone for a couple of weeks as it was given to me by a friend who was cut off from Verizon for not paying his bill !! I shoved in a TMOBILE sim from a spare phone I had and it works just fine for making calls but only Edge for data (not that it matters as I have a Optimus L9 for data)
Any info you could find would be most appreciated.

to go back to stock you actually have to first s-off and unlock the bootloader....also 4.2 reboots furiously if you dont set things up right...try a 4.3 rom like Tachyon or Carbon Rom....on either one of those ive yet to have a randoom reboot on proper settings that i set up

I was looking at the Tachyon rom yesterday as it happens, but I read somewhere that in 4.3 they changed something with the way memory is handled? and that you can no longer select the external SD card in the camera app, only the internal memory. Is that right?

yes but to be honest....stock is the same exact way
Edit...if your looking for a good fresh fast and to have everything work but base build go with tachyon....if your looking for fully customizable everything thats fast and stable go with carbon rom or pac 4.3....also you can download and replace the stock gallery with one that does save to internal sd card which is 10gb...you can always transfer to external sd as well as to a pc
