Samsung Galaxy SII HD LTE (SHV-E120S) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have recently bought a Galaxy SII HD LTE Korean (SHV-E120S). I have updated it to ICS4.0.4 using Kies Update. I want to know the procedure to update it to jelly beans. It would be really helpful if someone can provide me the rooting/installing JB custom ROM (if available for this phone),

NOOB.
Reported.

Just wait... Samsung Korean Version Phone always get update first especialy LTE. Updating via KIES for safety.

NOOB?
Is there any need for being outright rude?
Reported?
For what?
A forum does not exist for the SHV-E120S and the SGSII is the "best fit".

Need a developer for a custom ROM for SHV-E120S
Is there any custom ROM available for SHV-E120S?
Or even cyanogenmod started any development for this phone?
It's a brilliant phone for developing....
plz anybody........:crying:

Stock Radio gone Haywire on Stock ROM

Hey,
I have a i9100 from Virgin Mobile Canada, and the phone is starting to act funny. Often times, the signal will drop to zero at places where they're use to be signal. I downloaded network signal info, and its reporting a positive dB reading. There's an error that indicates its an issue with a positive reading.
Whats the best way to fix this? It's currently on GB.
How about trying out a different modem?

I have the exact same issue as the original poster. The question is, anyone have a tip on what radio (that is a modem, right?) we ought to get? I am currently in Singapore, on Singtel.
My phone is running 4.1.2 stock ROM
This is a european ROM, allthough I bought the phone here (wanted the European languages) and flashed the ROM myself about a year ago.
I have Baseband I9100XXLS8
I have read up a little and see that some radio's might be optimized for the carrier the ROM was made for. In my case I think the ROM i got was for Telenor, Norway.
If anyone can please point me in the correct direction, I would be more than happy to go look for myself. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!

So after looking for modem, and not radio, I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
I think both myself and the op should go there and have a look.:highfive:

[Q] how to get warranty back!

So i rooted my GS2 I9100 phone , i want to make sure how i can get my warranty back and what procedure i would like to follow..I am new into this so pls give me full step by step explanation for this..thank you...

Re: [Q]
If u get a yellow triangle (on booting) after rooting, and/or ur binary count has increased (in Download mode), then ur warranty has been void.
To get ur warranty back:
1. Flash a stock firmware (or a stock kernel if u already have a stock firmware) to get rid of the yellow triangle.
2. Use a USB Jig or TriangleAway app to reset ur binary counter.
Note: TriangleAway app can also remove the yellow triangle.

Ok then NOOBs . There has been foul language, blatant use of the "N" word (noob, not the other) and now discussion on genitalia size.
This thread is cleaned and I can't understand why it has de-evolved into such a fracas so quickly. Help out if you want or not. If you don't then move on.
Also OP, Rooting your phone has nothing to do with instability. It is what you have done since rooting it that has caused these problems. Either installing something or deleting something is the reason. Root in itself, did not.
Thread Cleaned, so let's start over.
btw Triangle Away app can be found here.
Enough!!! Move on

That is the international version. All you need to make sure is you don't use kernels or ROMs that are for other phones like the I9100G.

I suggest the OP to use guides found here on XDA. That way, members can provide better support and help.
Other websites may be used when XDA doesn't have any answers. As for rooting the I9100, there are so many threads here!

Before you even consider rooting, as you're running 4.0.4, do a FORUM SEARCH for eMMc brickbug.....it'll let you know whether you are going to turn your SII into a paperweight or not......
And when you've done that, head on over to the "general" I9100 section and look at the "sticky" threads.....you'll find all the info about rooting you could ever need.....

Always read the first 10-20 posts of any thread. If you had, you would have found DoomLord's statement:

Search for CF-Root kernels or custom rooted kernels (like Siyah/Dori)..
There is also a "Universal Rooting method" too. You can also find a method to 'Root stock ICS without flashing insecure kernel'..

So sorry mate, but I won't be there to answer every question you might have. I can only guide you. You need to do the reading and learning part.
Here's a good place to start.

Be warned against doing stuff without reading about it first. You might end up bricking ur device.

Nah, let em learn the hard way. Much more fun to watch. I can count the number of people I've seen on here over the past 18 mths break their phones through bad luck on one hand. It's invariably their own fault. And it makes no difference how much you warn most of them. You can spot the ones who are going to bork it a mile away most of the time.
