Some Problems :( - Nokia Lumia 920

I got my brand new Nokia Lumia 920, but i got some weird issues.
First: Im using one or more pop3 Accounts, receiving Mails every 15 minutes, the A-Mails are leaving on the server as far as im only receiving them with the Lumia 920. But if i receive my E-mails from my PC withou leaving them on the Server, to clean up my Account, they are also gone from my Smartphone.
And no, im not using imap And this is not the way pop3 was supposed to be working. Is there something i forgot or a workaround for that? i already got the Portico Update but still have the same problem.
Second:
I got also some problems with the pre installed Internet Explorer 10, on some sites like http://iss.astroviewer.net/ i cant zoom and it seems to run not very well. On some sites like www.kreuzwort-raetsel.net i looks like an mobile version of the website, but im always using desktopmode for surfing. Im not sure if this was on my hd2 with wp7.8 the same, but i shouldnt look like this
Third:
The PDF Reader simply sucks, is there any alternative until adobe will bring up an wp8 version of his adobe reader?
Im thankfully for all Tips an inspirations

PDF reader was working OK for me but then it refused to read from one website. I think the issue was that instead of directing the browser to download the PDF and open as a file, the website was trying to embed the PDF file inside the browser window as it would on a desktop.

Viewing my outlook info on the web

My situation cannot be all that unique, but, I cannot seem to find the right solution that MUST be out there.
I am a long time Sidekick users. I like the sidekick but would like a bit more power in the device and be able to run other apps. On the advice of a friend (who also used to own a sidekick) I got an XDA (T-Mobile MDA specifically) on ebay, but, I am giving up one HUGE thing, I think... The Sidekick automatically syncs with the Desktop website, so all my notes, contact info, addressbook, to-do list is on the web. With the XDA the info will be on my desktop at home in Outlook.
Why is this a problem? Because I ->CANNOT<- carry a cell phone into my work site but I do have internet access. This gave me most of my Sidekicks functionality (except for making calls) from my desk at work. Could look up contacts, etc. It also gave me this access from any location in the world as long as I had internet access (even if that location didn't have GPRS, my power on the Sidekick died, whatever).
Is there a website that will stay sync'd with my outlook, something I can add to my website (PHP + MySql), or I can run a website from my desktop machine (PHP, Java, MySql, whatever I can install anything). I am not chomping at the bit to install Exchange with Outlook Web Access on my machine at home, though... WAY too much work I think.
Any suggestions would be great. The best I have found is www.freeoffice.de, but, my ability to speak German is somewhat limited. Yahoo apparently used to offer an intellisync ability, but, alas now it is an export or export via CSV it appears. I found another service that seems to primarily be a fax/voicemail service at like $3/month for this. I guess if they work great I could pony up that, but... I don't really need fax/voicemail service.
I don't really need this to support email, I can get my email on the web from elsewhere. Primarily all the other PDA functions.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Kevin
I use the Yahoo Intellisync which works well directly with Outlook data, no converting or anything, just run the Intellisync program and all the data from Outlook is available on a webpage.
Notepad, Calender, Address Book and ToDo List are all synced.
I don't know if they charge for the service as I get it as part of my Internet package with BTYahoo - this is UK based, but I suppose it is available everywhere.
I Don't think Yahoo Still Offers...
When I looked before I couldn't find the Yahoo sync option, but, now I see it. Thanks for making me look again. This should do nicely, I hope.

Hotmail messaging not working with GPS?

Hi Guys,
First I'd like to say that this is my first post. I only found this site after seeing an article in Engadget and WOW! I've loaded the new DCD ROM with the upgraded radio and Its quadrupled the usefulness of my P4000 (titan). I use it to track my millage with work and all! Amazing that this feature was hidden!
I would like to ask if anyone is having trouble accessing their hotmail account via the inbuilt messaging app. I've added my Yahoo mail no prob but when i try to add my hotmail account it just gives me a link to open IE to windows live.
If this feature was removed from the rom for some reason, then so be it. If this is a repeat of another post than I apologize for it but if someone knows how to fix it up please let me know.
Thanks
Chris

just curious, what do you use to track your mileage?
You must use Windows Live to access your hotmail account. It has nothing to do with GPS.
Hotmail doesnt support pop3 (unless you are a paying customer?)
I'm just using GPS tunner. I just plug in the car charger, turn it on and at the end of the day i can see where i went how many km's i drove.

LOL, I had no idea what you were talking about until i went back and read the O.P. for the Rom... I missed the fact that it was stated in plain english right on the post... Working great now! Thanks

Can the hereo do these things?

Hi all,
I'm in the nice position of having managed to cancel my orange contract early for free ( T+C changes) and can now take out a spanking new contract.
The hero is top of the list as I can't be waiting for the X3 to emerge.
I currently have a Touch HD/Blackstone.
The HD can do all I want it to, I use it mainly for business, so the question is this:
Can the hero sync my outlook calender ok(it is linked to my google account as well)? Can it read adobe file ok? and Doc's? excel?
Does it recieve email ok?
Basically, can it do all I've mentioned ok?
Sorry so long winded.....
Ta
Yes to everything exept docs and excel (only because I have not needed to do them so just don't know rather than saying no)
Hi, Thanks,
Can anyone say if it will open excel or docs or does it need an app to do this.
Mods: Somehow my post has appeared twice? can the other one with no answers be delete.
Not tried it yet but the Hero comes with QuickOffice.
According to the manual...
Quickoffice lets you view Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, and
Microsoft PowerPoint files on your phone. Quickoffice supports viewing of
Microsoft Office 00 Word (.doc), Excel (.xls), PowerPoint (.ppt) and text (.txt) files.

@squirreleater: Yes, it does all that you have asked in your O.P.

Sending it back

My upgrade from a Touch HD was overdue from Orange and went for the WP7 Mozart.
I know this platform is new but cannot live with the shortcomings - will wait until obvious issues are addressed.
Good
Very well made.
Speed of O/S.
Camera far better than Touch HD.
Zune works well.
External speaker.
Not so good
Felt very "slippy in my hands" can see this being dropped !
Syncing contacts from Outlook 2002 first time is a nightmare.
Signing up a Hotmail account and Windows Live which I did not want to do but had to - to achieve the sync.
The sync was messy as it imported email accounts as a seperate entry.
Cannot import my Calender unless I buy a more recent version of Outlook and load Outlook Connector.
Cannot use a customised ringtone or alarm alert.
Text messages are displayed in a small box - cannot make larger.
To phone a recent contact takes a few presses.
No way to increase storage - 30 mp3 downloade from PC and only 5gb left.
Cannot use my TomTom.
Cannot record calls.
Cannot import my text messages.
Cannot Bluetooth anything to another device.
I was told by Orange that the Desire HD will come in November - so will give this a go.
Sorry to be so negative but I will wait a bit longer for WP7.

Wait- your still using Office 2002?
Ah
I use Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student which does not have Outlook.
I had an old copy of 2002 Outlook which I have used for contacts and calender for a while now which syncs with WMDC on Win 7.

First it is WP7 not WM7. Anyway the not so good are not a deal breaker for me. I'm gonna get it still. After being through Android, i don't think i wanna use it again.
Last line duly edited
I just upgraded to the Mozart from the HD as well. Seriously thinking that I will send it back too and wait for the Desire HD on Orange.
While for myself I didn't find a number of the faults the OP had such as slippery, syncing, calling recent contacts...
It is fast and has some nice features but things like lack of copy/paste, file explorer etc are too big failings not to have for my use.
I also don't like the over reliance on Zune and hotmail. The keyboard is slow compared to the regular HTC keyboard if you type a lot with mixed letters/numbers and shift accessed characters.
Also the 8GB of storage is misleading - you really only have about 6GB of usable storage which is very limiting.
Will struggle through the rest of my trial period and see how I get on...
i belive you only have 6gb because it allocates space for thing like game and apps, you can change this in zune in the phone options
*when i say zune i mean the software on you computer
Surely feels like you I will drop the device any time now!
However I sync my hotmail and my work email via exchange so no need for direct outlook sync. But seriously, you are trying to sync it with an 8 year old program no wonder you get issues. Actually, I am surprised it even works at all.

[Q] Can I *really* not sync my Mozart with Microsoft's "My Phone" service?

I've got a WM6.5 device and I want to transfer all the contacts to my Mozart. They're already synced to Microsoft's My Phone service (http://myphone.microsoft.com/), but I can't see a way of getting the Mozart to sync them back into the new device. I'm amazed if it really can't sync to My Phone, just seems another step backwards for WP7. I've searched the forums, I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this so perhaps I've done something wrong!
Otherwise, what's the best way of getting my phone contacts from WM6.5 onto WP7?
Thanks
AFAIK , My Phone - like Mesh - was a bit of a trial-run service that never really got going - partly becuase almost everything it offered was already available on their other services.
the short answer is : no, i don't think there's any way to get the data from there onto your WP7 device
it used to run on WM6.x as a separate application - and it wasn't a true mail system as we understand them today. It was more of an app that pushed data files onto a storage area.
MS expect you to use the the Live suite or similar these days for this sort of thing.
OK cheers. There does seem to be support in WP7 for some of the extended functionality from My Phone, such as Where Is My Phone etc.., just none of the syncing to it.
I hate how WP7 seems to assume that my phone contacts will be the same set of people as my Facebook or Windows Live contacts. I have allsorts of numbers in my phone for breakdown services, taxis, pizza etc and I don't want to have to add them to my Live contacts in order to get them on my phone. It's nonsense. I just want to copy the phone contacts from one device to the other. Unbelievable that I cannot.
what you would need to do is sync your contacts etc from your Wm6.5 phone to hotmail (either on the phone or via outlook which would probably be easier), then sync the WM7 device to the same acocunt.
it's SOOO annoying! i used the myphone backup service every day on my WinMo6... i have 1000's of texts on there, i'd really like to restore them on my my new WM7, but can't! i'm really struggling to get even get a 3rd party app... Boo to m$ for not making the new OS backwards compatible
