hi, can someone tell me how can i install a ics 4.0.4 custom rom's diall pad to another ics 4.0.4 custom rom. i was able to replace sms, contact with the apk found in apk folder of the rom.
also how do i put a option in the rom to user choose where to install apps! can somebody help please?

I was wondering if there is a way of getting the native mms.apk from stock 2.3.3 ROM to a CM 7.2 ROM? I tried copying the mms.apk from a stock ROM to system/app folder in phone, but it isnt`t working.

Why do you want to use those stock apps ?
The same one are already present in CM7 Roms...

I have a GS2 had stock operator ROM (Cellcom Israel 4.0.3)
backed up free titanium
installed pilotx JB rom and dual boot thin touchwiz JB
wanted to restore the stock memo app onto PilotX
titanium freezes when doing so
when I find the apk file, and click it tells me not installed
have tried to put the apk (including a deodexed version i found somewhere on XDA) into system/app (and data/app)
and reboot - all to no avail.
note that on my dual boot to thin touchwiz JB i CAN restore the memo app from titanium.
is this because this rom includes TW 5 - I think I read somewhere stock samsung apps require TW (??)
So is there a way to get the stock memo app onto pilot X?
is there a way to find a TW5 apk to put onto pilotX in hopes that after that I could restore the memo app?
(yes I have tried numerous memo apps from market, don't know why but I like stock samsung one best!)

you can only use those original samsung softwares on touchwiz based ROMs (meaning in fact custom roms based on stocks = "sammy roms")
so it's not possible to use them on aosp or aokp based roms if the touchwiz framework is not incorporated...and normally it's not because exactly the usage of easy theming and independence from samsung is the source of those roms.
So i don't know what pilotX rom is based on, but if not based on sammy it will probably not work

i dunked PilotX for thunderbolt (which has touchwiz so I now have the memo app)
if I go back to pilotX will give this one a shot and let you know
just want to know can i manually add multiview on ELK4 based ROMs. some custom roms based on ELK4 but does not have Multiview feature if yes please also provide zip file for multiview that can be installed through recovery.

mine already got MW once use XXELK4..just hold back softkey and u can see side bar..u can choose defaults item on it and drag them one by one to get multi window.

Hi again. I was wondering how would i deodex the stock 4.1.2 samsung rom in S3? I would like to deodex it by myself because i like the samsung goodies it has, BUT i would also like to change themes using XthemeEngine so i tried one theme called "Blacked Out" but it just changed the notification icons and nothing else, i just made a try but i know that in this state is impossible, so i searched how to deodex stock roms, and i've found this:

After following the basics steps, i get stuck on 3) : i won't deodex any app even if i remove several .odex files from /oirigi_app, but it's always the same. So, i guess i need a proper method for the GT-i9300, any ideas?
If it were by me...i would just install an already deodexed custom rom...but the last time i tried, i had problems with connectivity, i think it was because the default modems weren't compatible with my region, right? So unless i know how to install the proper modem i won't install any custom rom yet. (However..., when i tried Siyah Kernel Dual Boot option for the first time with UltimaRom, it worked fine and i could connect even to Mobile Data from my operator, but if i try to install UltimaRom as my main rom, it would refuse to connect...)
