Call clarity - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

So I have been running this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095366&highlight=slim and have had call clarity problems on the other end with more than one person and on different days. The person I'm talking too can not understand anything I say, yet I hear them perfectly. Is there something I can do to remedy this?

Run a different rom.
There has been a fix to the cm base that's used but it hasn't been implemented into that ROM yet that I'm aware. Or if it has you are on an older build. and need the newest one.
If there is ANY background noise you'll sound super far away.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. My first thought was a different ROM too.

Preferably a GB based rom, I know some have audio issues with the mic when recording videos and using headsets. And I'd also like to know which Froyo rom is the best just in case this issue still persist in every GB rom.

Bumblebee for me. Last GB build I tried the battery life was soso. I can get past a day and a half on Bumblebee.
Currently on Jerryscript's latest IHO build and I like it so far. I've been meaning to try BumbleBee for a while now, but I just like GB too much to revert back to Froyo at the moment. I still wanna give it a shot

I'm a fan of BobZhome's IHO flavor. I like the apps2sd and V6 additions he's made. I'm overclocked with no reboots. Haven't tried my headset yet...
I like BobZhome alot, too.
I just tried Bumblebee and I'm impresses with how fast it is, but somehow featurewise it's still lacking, and it looks too plain. As for those other roms, I'll try them out after I make room on my sdcard

That is the ROM I used on my Optimus V. Flashed using ROM Manager with Clockwork Mod. It has been very stable for me, good battery life, internet works as well as my router.
My only regret was losing Swype, although I have solved that for now by using the Beta.

-Gps works perfectly for me, almost instantly detects indoors as well
-Headset Mic works as of the 8/30 build
Not sure about the other two, The only camera issue I've ever had is having to use vlc to hear the audio but I'm also on a mac. Stability wise I've never had any issues since switching no sd card dismounts or random reboots
Ah I see, I'm using it right now, so far I like it. My biggest concern is still the camera. There's another thing that concerns me, the battery drains pretty fast on this rom.

I'm not sure there's any rom's for our phone that don't have the camera issues. Battery seems to be a huge issue with most of them as well, I'm not exactly sure why but glad you like it so far other than that.
Well thank you for suggesting it
I'm thinking of going back to Froyo for a while, I've used Bumblebee and so far I'm impressed, the speed and battery life surpasses that of any Gingerbread rom I've tried so far.

Which AOSP Rom has Fewest Bugs?

Yes, I read the thread about how pissed you get when you read "which rom is best" from an idiot newbie like me. I'm not asking which is best. That's too general.
I want the aosp rom with good working 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wifi and GAPPS. I want dependable sms/mms, able to answer and hang up from phone calls, battery life better than stock. I don't care about netflix.
I would like vzw/vvm to work but not a dealbreaker.
We can narrow down the choices to mini bamf, cm7, or the latest liquid aosp rom if you like.
Which one just works?
I've been using Th3ory for the longest. Try dhacker's version 2.8
Should be everything you're looking for.
Sent from my SHIFTAO5P using xda premium
I have heard that OMFGB is a great one, I talked to the developer more than a few times about it even tho I don't use it. He has a long track record making the same Rom and porting it to different devices.
If I helped you in any way please use the thank you button
I'd really like to hear from folks who have been using an aosp Rom long enough to know its flaws. Thanks to both of you for your suggestions. Neither of those roms had occurred to me. Now I have 5 to pick from!
Signature says it all...
My name is Revos I'm a recovering flashaholic running Liquid Gingerbread 3.0
Either OMFGB or SHIFTAO5P will be your best bets! I use SHIFT, and have been for quite a while, only flashing to others just to see if they can beat it!
Anybody try the new build 16 cm7? I'm curious if the blietooth static problem is gone?
Does verizon vvm work on any aosp rom?
Th3ory is rock solid, the other one I would recommend is below

CM7 is awesome on the Tbolt. Well -as awesome as this awful phone can get.
#1 bug - location problem. It is easily fixed but the fix is not baked in bc it involves "borrowing" the HTC location.apk from the 2.11.605.3 leak/pulled ota.

1. No that is not all you do. Sorry. Let me find the link for the detailed set of instructions. And this is for location - not navigation.
Fix network location on CM7
2. I have never had problems with actual GPS - if you do have GPS problems - you know - navigation - the solution is to get a solid lock on GPS from your Sense rom before you flash CM7. If you have already flashed CM7 -create a nandroid backup. Flash back to Sense. Get a GPS lock. Restore nandroid. ? Profit.
Anyone know if xfinity app and hbo go app work in this rom?

Have you tried the fix?
Use Rom Manager *The latest version of my suggestion is only accessible this way*
Look at "Unofficial CyanogenMod 7 Builds" by ProTekk in the Download ROM section.
Grab the latest version (Build 20 as of OCT28) and enjoy. This rom works great for me with Tiamat's latest kernel and the 0906w_ radios. You will need to perform the location fix each time you flash an update but the rom is smooth and gives you all the CM7 perks and extras

2 way call recording

CallRecorder works good.
I'm still just using Saurom ROM that has it built in. It's gingerbread so you may not want to use it if you are already on ics... I've tried most, if not all ics Roms, and many jb roms for our phone, but the lack of this feature and the lack of any killer app to upgrade... I tested callrcorder on ics and it seemed to work ok.
I forgot to prepare you that callrecorder.is $9.95, as far as phone apps go kind of pricey.
Going to install another jb rom and try out sanity.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
This feature, call recording, is the single feature that made me switch from iPhone to android. I honestly do not understand why the wonderful Rlrom developers do not include this and call blocking into their rom(s). I appreciate their efforts, but these kind of PHONE features, to me, would be my priorities, at least before the PDA type features. I've seen devs forget to test if their rom can place and receive phone calls.
Just my opinion, as a big ol' dummy.
I tried sanity, with no joy. Albeit on a cm10 rom, I won't say which. But cm10 is known to have audio problems.
In my case it was simply failing to record anything. Zero size files. Sanity is over a year old, at least the one on the play store.
Eventually, the rom just randomly rebooted. I wiped and restored Saurom, because it records conversations at the click of a button, and has never just rebooted on me for any reason, after several months of daily, almost constant use... I have a giant battery so I mean a LOT of use.
ICS roms appear to no longer be actively developed, and just about everything else is cm10 and have the random reboot and audio issues I've experienced being reported.
Someone tell me a good rom, besides saurom, out their that isn't rotting on the vine. I'd buy callrecorder as long as I know it's going to work on my rom.
Sanity's features looked promising. Just no cheroot.

Just wanted to confirm that CallRecorder works great on stock ICS rom + root. Although Im not sure if root is required. Tested with handset and BT headset and both work beautifully. Call records for incoming voice are internal and sound clean. Probably the 10th recording app I've tried and if I didnt see the recommendation in this thread I'd probably still be looking for something that worked. Not easy with this phone...

Bah, I stay far away from these "so-called" build.prop tweaks. They do nothing but people keep thinking they work...I guess because they just see commands and numbers and think they must work. All they do is simply lag the phone in some way or another and destroy battery life. After all, placebo is popular in the android world.

Well just hold on there, I can vouche for the enhance image quality tweak.
I still have yet to verify is this actually does anything worthwhile. I just did a clean flash of Neo's AOKP 1.5 and ran quadrant a few times, then Pimped it out and then re-ran Quadrant. The score was higher.... but that was because GPU rendering apparently wasn't enabled the first time Otherwise the scores were just about the same. It sucks that there's no effective/absolute way to test these sorts of thing out.

some of them work. for example I always tweak my call ring delay, and on other phones tweaked the camera with changes to image and video compression, recording frame rate, set wider wifi scan intervals, and have added custom tagging in various places within the os. I am also sure that many other working tweaks exist that I never tried.

Best JB CM10 ROM?

Whats the best CM10 JB ROM for the Rezound that is stable, fast and smooth and has very good batter life? Also, what would be a good Kernel to go with that ROM? Right now I'm on a CM9 ROM
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
They're all roughly equal in most areas. The instability with AOKP is gone in JB, so it's more about what you want out of the ROM. PAC has the most options, vanilla CM10 has the least (though still more than CM9), and AOKP is in the middle. Neo also has his customized versions of CM9 and AOKP if you like his stuff.
Stability wise, JB is overall a tick behind ICS AOSP, but not much (not enough to worry about in my book). I recommend pmem over ION if you are faced with the choice, and if you want to get the smoothest performance, check out one of the custom kernels (I hear Ermahgerd is good ).
I can vouch for Neo's AOSP jb Rom as far as speed and smoothness. Very few bugs at least for me (never use bluetooth) and I personally like snuzzos funky kernel (haven't tried the newer kernels like ermergerd or the oc kernel I have seen in the development section) but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the jb builds out there now because even a completely clean cm10 build without Linaro is pretty quick and definitely a very usable dd.

Well I personally recommend my build.

There's no noise cancelling in our AOSP device code, so what come in the mic goes out of the earpiece. I don't hear it as a echo though. Someone had to point it out to me for me to even notice it, because to me, it sounds just like an old analog landline.

Also the signal issue you are talking about is an issue with all AOSP ROMs. Enable airplane mode, wait a few seconds, and disable airplane mode and then your service should come back.
