When in the gallery that saves all my pictures and videos to the extersdcard and I make a folder and drag pictures into it, it then saves that folder and the pictures to internal storage, is there a way to change this and have it write to the external?

When i inserted my sd card all got erased from it. Then I looked in the gallery. Noticed a group called instant upload. Where are those photos stored external or internal.

Samething happened to me i was like wtf
Instant upload is a Google+ option I believe
Under accounts and settings ,your Google account, unchecked sync picasa web albums if you don't want instant upload in your gallery.

so u guys saying you put a sd card in and it wiped it?
i had no problems using my sd card from my old S2
Upgraded to ICS on my Nexus S OTA yesterday. It was All right,for a while but after one reboot the gallery app doesn't show any pics or videos from sd card nor any of the music app recognize any music files from sd card. Help.

Try putting the pictures and music files in the phone's storage instead of SD Card!

If I download a video file in my sd card instead of one i could see two of them in my gallery. So I don't understand which 1 should I keep and which one should I delete.

When I go into my gallery it'll show one picture but when I click on the it it a different picture. I its only happening with the most recent pictures I've taken. I I did have duplicates of every picture but I unmounted and remounted my sd card and they disappeared... Any ideas what this could be or how to fix it?

Go to manage apps, click on all, find media storage and wipe data and reboot that will fix duplicates in gallery and music player.
