[Q] Rooting my tablet - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, im new to this site, it seems very helpful so i registered and i wanted to ask how do i root my estar mid7114 (tablet)?i tried some ways of doing it , didnt seem to work, I used super one click, pressed root, evrything seems to be fine, even superuser app appears, which is almost empty, but when i downloaded bind directory it says root access fail, or root verification program it also says that it failed, main reason to root my estar mid7114 is that i want to use directory bind to get stuff from internal sd to external sd.

If superuser app appears then your phone should be rooted. Download root checker from playstore and find out if you are rooted

Try "Vroot"
It works 10000000000%
I can't post the website because I am a new user.

[Q] Samsung fascinate root help

Pleaz help!!
I rooted my fascinate with z4root. Then, I unrooted. Then, I noticed that my superuser was still there. I tried to delete it but couldn't. Then, I heard that u can delete it by rooting, so I tried to root it again. But for some reason, z4 keeps saying, you already have the such binary. Unable to root. I then tried to root using other programs on my computer with one click root program. That kept saying, unable to root device. Please help me delete the su or reroot my phone.
A few simple commands with an app called terminal emulator, free in market. Search YouTube for "fascinate remove root" for the commands

You can also set to stock using Odin. There is also a way to delete the root files using root explorer if you still have root access but I'm guessing not as that happened to be after the last update.

Root explorer will get rid of SU
You have to delete from 3 places in the system section I just can't remember which 3. I did it on the TF101 and it works
Your dont need root to do it but you may need the paid version of Root Explorer

I have the same problem let me know if you find out what files to delete. Would really appreciate it.
i have application can ROOT & UNROOT all Android Tablets & smartphone.
i have test it in asus prime and its amazing.
download it from this link

if you need more information please visit this link.

good luck.
Depending on how you rooted, the superuser app is probably installed to /system. If this is the case then you can only remove it by doing a full root followed by an unroot.

Thanks for the help, but I've since re-rooted via viper mods tool. And actually just unlocked the bl.

I tried using the viperMod and I still couldnt get su permission, what is wrong. It is in the system files and I tried deleting them with the ROOT Explorer app stated above and nothing worked. What am I doing Wrong?
EDIT: sorry I didn't notice that jmikeb92 was not the OP. So this post probably makes no sense.

If I were you I'd root using mempodroid, install the su binary, then use a terminal shell to remove all traces of root (ie: superuser apk, busybox, su).
Another thing you can do is check the permissions on your su binary. Not sure where vipermod puts it, probably in /system/xbin. Check that it is setuid at least. If it is not, that's your problem. In this case gain root using mempodroid and setuid the sucker.

No it is not difficult but you would need some knowledge of linux security. For example what setuid/setgid is, how to change file ownership, how to change file permissions.
There are lots of resources out there if you are interested in that sort of thing.
Hi,
I had this problem and spent hours before I could figure out how to remove Superuser.
Maybe you can try this method:
First, download Root Browser Lite from the market. It's like Root Explorer, but it's free and can work with both rooted and unrooted device. Then, open it and go to system>app. Inside the folder, delete the file 'Superuser.apk'. When it's done, power off to restart the phone.
If that doesn't work, you can do what I did. Search for Superuser in the market and try to uninstall from there. It may take a while. After that if the dead shortcut still appears in the app drawer, you can just reboot the phone and it'll be gone.
For those whose phones are rooted and have Titanium Backup, you can use that to delete the file, too.
Hope it helps.

I tried that method but it says failed to delete superuser.apk, same thing on root explorer

open drawer, put your finger on the superuser app and hold for a few sec. After drawer goes away, keep on holding it. You will see "App Info" at the top of your screen. Move the superuser there and menu will pop up. Clear cash and disable the app. Now it should be gone.
I hope i helped you

[Q] Can't get barclays mobile banking app working!

Rooted my Motorola Atrix 4G using PetesMotorolaRootTools v1.07 and found that it wasn't much use for me.
When I tried using the barclays mobile banking app, I got the error that my phone was rooted so I couldn't use it.
I tried to factory reset my phone to unroot it but still couldn't use the app.
I tried to unroot using the same PetesMotorolaRootTools v1.07 but same result.
I tried flashing an SBF of the original stock using RSDlite but again, same story.
I've typed in 'su' into the android terminal emulator and it was not found! And I've checked with the root checker basic app whether my phone is rooted and it says it isn't!
I've also tried uninstalled and re-instaling the app but still no good.
I have no idea what to do
System version: 45.31.2.MB860.T-Mobile.en.GB
Android Version: 2.3.4
Build number: 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.2
SBF I used: 1FF-olympus_emara-user-2.3.4-4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.2-release-keys-signed-T-Mobile-GB.sbf
Any help given will be appreciated, thanks
Have you tried root checker from play store to see if you're phone is in fact rooted? I'm sure you can download su from market. If you're able to, try denying root access to that app.

Yeah I've checked multiple times using that app but it always says I'm not rooted!
How do you deny root access to that specific app? Not sure how to do that
Try rooting again, then install SuperSU from gplay. Then in SuperSU under Settings select Full Unroot.

[Q] Am I even rooted?

Hi. I have a Lenovo A7600-F tablet, and I've been trying to root it. I've heard that iRoot is the best way to root this device, so that's what I did. I went ahead and installed the APK, ran it, and clicked root. It said that it has rooted successfully, so I rebooted, and when I enter iRoot again it says I'm not rooted. However, the Superuser app is still there, and cannot be uninstalled. I click root a second time, and the Superuser app disappears. I reboot, and the Superuser app is back again and iRoot still says I'm not rooted. I installed some root apps and this is the output:
iRoot - Not rooted
Superuser - Not rooted
Root Checker Basic - Not rooted
Some other root checker - Rooted
Root Browser - Apparently rooted
Terminal Emulator - Running the command 'su' puts the number 255 before the typing space
Got Root? -
SU Exists: True
Version: 16 com.mgyun.shua.su
Root Obtained: False
I'm confused. Am I rooted? If I'm not, how do I remove the Superuser app?
By the way, when I look in my device's system files, I can see /system/app/irootsu.apk and /system/bin/su.
halp.

Oh ok. Have you tried other root methods? And sadly you can't or at least shouldn't be able to remove the superuser app

Try installing Chainfire's super su and check again i think you might not have the correct super user app installed when using iroot.
just search the playstore for it
Can you unroot through your Superuser app? If you can, try to reroot using a different method.
