Is it possible to take the photosphere camera apk and somehow bake in the extra libs within the apk so that you could install it as a user app and have it fully functional?
not atm
Install Panorama 360 app from play store...it's the easiest way

Any good replacement app for stock froyo camera?
1) camera 360
2) Fx Camera
3) Retro Camera
But i would recommend u to use the stock one..and use any other camera app along with it like 'little photo'
Thanx. I will try all3.
MIUI camera
LG camera ( Market ) - got a lot of options...
I use vignette it takes beautiful photos and has loads of good settings
I noticed that in the Gallery app, the pictures zoom in and out in "stages", thus making it look really like it's heavily lagging - and not like any other phone where zooming is very fluid. Any workaround to make zooming lag-free? Or perhaps there's a better Gallery-like app around in the Market?
quickpic in the market.
You can also get the gallery app that is used on virtually all other android phones on the market. Someone posted an apk for it on the themes and Apps section.

it's called 3d cool gallery ... it's the stock android gallery + some tweaks and sensor motion support...
do somebody know how to integrate that into camera apk ... I'm asking if there is a way to make the camera "call" another gallery apk not the stock one.cause even if you install alternatives ... they will not open directly after a shot but you will need to open the apk directly.very annoying

+1 for that!!! The camera app should ask first time what app you want to use when ticking the recent photos icon... but that is a work for developers (if they want to do it and have time of course!)
i'm looking for one that does NOT replace my default camera from my aosp rom.
prefer to have 2 separate camera app,
currently i'm using the 4.2 photosphere cam, i flash it from a zip with aroma installer, it creates another camera & gallery app, and i can retain my original aosp camera from any rom i use.
it is said that the 4.3 photosphere is much better at stitching and better exposure control.
i want to try it, but without losing my original camera.
so far all the ones that i found must replace the original camera app to function on aosp rom.
Here is the camera apk.
It is working
have anyone tried any camera app other than stock?
the stock camera app doesn't have background blur effect!
Whatever camera app you use you wont have that effect apart from
Google camera and lens blur mode. So try that one , it works well but the results can be good or bad..
Use the Google Camera ported to Snapdragon 820/821.
