Hey everyone,
today i dropped my xperia P and the screen cracked :/
The touch and everything works perfect, there are no color or any other issues just the screen is cracked....
I've called much repair shops here in my Country but most of them want to much money and tell me that the screen goes with the touch together, so it needs all to be replaced :/
I want to ask if that is true, is it glued together or can it be replaced individually like in xperua U ?
Also i saw on ebay that the lcd screen with touch and everything costs just about 70$, would it be a good idea to buy it from ebay and then replace it by myself ?

I have a SK17i that unfortunately has several big cracks in the touch screen following being dropped.
I know how to dismantle the x10 mini pro but not sure with the sk17i, with the x10 you pop the complete screen up with a plastic tool on the left hand side of the screen then it slips off the clips that hold it on the right hand side.
Anyone know if the sk17i is basically the same method or is their a different technique for this screen?

That's not easy, because the screen and the digitizer are stuck to the case, just search on ifixit.
It's not easy to do, and I don't know how, but replacing with a new screen is 150€

Service Center is 150€ and if I buy on amazon pay same price for a new sk17i

I meant official by sony parnter, in germany they told me 150€ to repair touchscreen. Not a 3rd party company

Unfortunately, I accidently broke the front glass screen of my xperia mini st15i:sad:
THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH THE LCD i think
TOUCH IS WORKING FINE
THE CAPACITIVE BUTTONS ARE WORKING PERFECTLY
BUT my front glass has got a wide CRACK running in the mid of the screen
I just wanted to ask...if I need to change the whole LCD screen or just the front glass plate
and how much is it gonna cost me around?
I seriously don't trust the service centre guys...
Any suggestion would be really appreciated...

The whole screen must be replaced as far as I know. At service center they want about 150€. So maybe look in iFixit, there's a tutorial how to change screen

In Germany, it costs 150€ euro to replace screen at service center.
150€ = 10 445.6084 Indian rupees
That's much money for a screen, a new SK17i costs ca 150€ in germany, same price for a replacement
I don't want to replace the whole screen...
Just the top glass layer that we observe on the top of capacitive keys is cracked... No problem inside

Hi,
I also have a broken glass on my st15i.
Everything is working (touch, display, etc). Only issue is broken glass..
I read somewhere, that lcd and glass can't be separated, is that true. if so, why things are sold separately.
The service center is asking for Rs. 4500 for the glass replacement.
Can somebody provide me following info:
- link to purchase this set (display+glass).
- fixit has only info about st17i, will that info usable or st15i ?
- Do i need to buy anything extra [somewhere I read, you should glue the screen and touch ; do i need tools and glue solutions]?

Hi Pal!
The S2 glass will come with digitizer so you cant get the replacement glass alone. you have to get new Display which will come with glass. sorry pal...

hi, i can share your pain because the same thing happened to me few weeks back! but sadly they jus dont replace the glass alone as pointed out by #ssnalugu. I got it repaired at a private samsung servicing store, it costed me around rs 9,500, he replaced the whole lcd panel, everything fine now
A Samsung service centre told me it will cost 6500rs
I am thinking to use it as it is for few weeks then buy a new phone...

The biggest problem for me in Xperia Z was "constant" dirty phone with a "full body" of fingerprints. That was a biggest minus for me on Xperia Z. And the most difficult part there was a cleaning process. Had to constantly wash it under the water.
Thinking about that, what the whole issue is a "protective film" I have decided to took it away. The problem was increased.
I hurry please you all, Xperia Z Ultra brought this problem to a minimum.
The display is much better resists fingerprints. I want to draw attention to the fact that front glass resists fingerprints far better than the back side.
My scale points is:
Xperia Z- 2/10.
Xperia Z Ultra- 8/10.
And the most good fact that you can "easily" removed them now with out any effort. (Example like on Galaxy S 4)

Hey there is not a big deal! look very closely you will see protector.
So take it off and put any other.

I taken appointment with a store to replace the glass but not the screen. believe that you will be the possible or when it would be better to replace the glass and the screen also?

Well if the glass is going to get replaced i guess they will replace the digitizer since if the glass is broken then the digitizer won't work anymore :/ d Damm gorilla glass 2 xd why thinner but if the screen still works then you don't need to replace the screen(Display)
