Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Hello i was trying to root my phone, and boot into clockwork recover but now the phone is just stuck at "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. (Yellow Triangle.)
Could anyone tell me where to find SGH-1717R Stock firmware? or a link to a to newer clockwork file?
I was trying to flash "odin_n1717_cwm_recovery_b4" into the PDA section in ODIN when the problem occurred. Perhaps i did something wrong.

I have a Rogers I717R and I used odin_n1717_cwm_recovery_b4.tar to apply a custom recovery to my phone, so you should be good as long as that file is not corrupt. Did you follow this method and did not have the wrong items checked in odin? http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...y-note-sgh-i717-icsgingerbreadeasiest-method/ You didn't pull the cable too early?
Maybe pull the battery, reboot the pc, enter into download mode and try to install CWM again.
Just a reminder, getting a custom recovery to stick on a Canadian Note requires an extra step because of a script: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775263
Just in case, here is an odin file that will reinstall the stock Rogers ICS ROM for you: http://www.samsdroid.com/2012/07/i717ruxlf4-android-404-canada-rogers.html

[Q] Soft bricked? yellow triangle

I tried to do AdamOutler's unlock bootloader stuff, and when i flashed the unlocked bootloader file in his thread i got a boot loop, so i tried to flash the stock bootloader file also in his thread. now i get the yellow triangle saying i need to take it back to the store. i can still flash with odin and i just tried to flash the unlocked bootloader again and now i get a fail message in odin.
please help!
even if i can get back to the bootloop i'm willing to take it back to verizon at this point. i just dont want to do that with the yellow triangle, i could just make up some something for the bootloop.

the first thing you ever do before flashing anything on your device is have a stock rom to odin back on. second your not following directions. third your device is not bricked...flashing back to stock will bring it back.
I'm having a similar issue. I had followed adam's protocol for rooting and unlocking using CASUAL; once the process was completed I received a notification claiming that my device was now 'rooted and unlocked.' I then proceeded to download ROM manager and flash clockwork recovery and upon reboot receive the 'system software not authorized' message. At this point I attempted to use the official ODIN provided in droidstyle's guide on root/unlock/etc thread. I see a successful flash of the image but still cannot get out of the unauthorized system software error. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

i did! that's why i was a bit surprised that it didn't work. i downloaded both the VRALJB 4.1.1 stock image and pit file, placed them into their corresponding locations in ODIN and flashed away. should i be allowing ODIN to repartition the disk? (thanks for the help droidstyle!)

[Q] Download Mode Recovery Issue

Hello, I wanted to add my previous Issue I had before running into this problem.
I currently need to fix a issue ASAP as I am selling my s3 soon. I tried to unroot my s3 and reset it to factory settings but flashed the Verizon firmware on my phone and not the international version firmware. The flash failed in Odin and now I am stuck at a screen saying the Firmware upgrade encountered an error. Please try again. I tried to go into download and recovery mode multiple times and cannot do so. I assume is bricked or soft bricked? Can I use a usb jig to get into download mode?

After purchasing a USB JIG, I can now get into Download mode, but the issue is every time I try to install a stock firmware, I am stuck in Recovery mode. The binary count on the phone says "18", but I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Please help, thank you. My phone is the I9300.
So the stock ROM installs without errors?
Have you done a factory reset from recovery afterwards?
This should be fixable unless the firmware you flashed also included a bootloader

No, the stock ROM cannot install, every time I try to install the ROM, it gets stuck in Odin says "Recovery". I cannot get into the phone because it will still show the firmware error if I unplug the usb jig from the usb download mode.
Have you tried Kies if you want to return to stock, start Kies and go to Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Installation
Follow the instructions on the screen, this is supposed to completely reset the phone and install the latest firmware version for that phone

either ask in the CM thread or flash a stock rom from sammobile.com then root all over again.
where is the cm thread for this phone...
In the meantime... I have tried to use Odin to reset to factory but it fails, so asking in cw thread would do no good if I cannot access cw... count is @ 13 and cannot add triangle either so I cannot take back... tried Kies but once again I cannot turn phone on... so if anyone can guide me to factory reset thread since I have been searching for 3 hrs I would appreciate it...

i think you've confused what i said with about 3 different things here~~!
odin doe's not do a factory reset, odin flashes firmware. can you get in to recovery or download mode any more? (i guess you can if you know your flash count is at 13) kies won't do anything since you are rooted and (was) running a firmware it would not recognize. kies is a pile of tosh! Delete it!
below is taken from a thread, i've provided the link and the part you need to know, Which stock firmware are you trying to flash through odin? and where did you get it from? use sammobile.com.
[EDIT] the CM thread is the same thread you downloaded the CM rom from.
Instructions For Flashing Firmware:
Extract the firmware
Open the included Odin
Turn off your device
Put your device into Download MODE (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Click PDA and select *.tar.md5
Then finally click START!

I have used Odin in the past with my first Epic to flash back to factory so that is why I tried with this one when I found the tar file, but it fails every time. I cannot get into recovery only download. When I try to get into recovery it says "Fireware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"... CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-v5.tar.md5 is the file I flashed from Team Epic... I downloaded CWM back in Nov over 5 months ago... no idea where it is now...
That file failed as well

un root help

I am trying to unroot my gs4. its an mk2 build. I clicked unroot in SU, but the phone locks up when attempting to go into factory recovery. I tried flashing the appropriate tar file in odin but it always fails at (aboot.mbn) any ideas?
since trying to do this, phone now wont reboot. it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies. problem is it wont connect to kies... ; (

You flashed the wrong file that's why it softbricked. You can't flash anything older, only mk2 or newer. You'll have to flash the mk2 image in Odin to restore it to working condition.
Hit thanks if I helped you out. Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.
so I should be able to flash mk2 tar file with odin and unbrick?
Im back up and running, thanks a bunch.

[Q] flashed s2 gt i-9100 with i-9100g Custom ROM; Bricked my phone! :-|

Hi
I can't possibly state how foolish I feel right now, but I accidently flashed my Samsung Galaxy S2 I-9100 with a Custom ROM made for the I-9100G version. As a result my phone is now only able to reach the Download mode; not even recovery mode. However on connecting with Odin the test is repeatedly FAILED. I am now left with a stuck phone which when tried to be powered up is always stuck in an incomplete boot cycle. Do we have any suggestions / ways to get this corrected, or do I have to order a new phone!??
Please help...
Thanks!

Not yet. I may actually be a perfect example of one who should NOT try rooting..complete newbie in this world!!
In case you have any suggestions how to go about doing that please do share the same.
I took a backup of the stock ROM using Nandroid and had TWRM installed.
Of course, these are of no use until I'm at least able to reach the recovery mode!!
Have a look at my guide here on how to use the pit files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ivatives/mod-increase-partition-size-t3011162
Download the stock pit file
Download the official stock firmware
Flash both in ODIN (tick repartition and make sure you have selected the pit file and the stock rom to flash)
Start the flashing process
