Hello people.
As i wasn't able to figure out a solution to the problem with the 3.5mm jack, i decided to try a different solution and got a Stereo Bluetooth headset instead. I fired up a search at amazon, which gave me this Nokia headset and it was only about 30€ so i went for it and bought it. Today the headset arrived and it only took me about 1 minute to get it to work! (Simply turned on bluetooth, searched, tapped the device and played some music ) I gotta say, that this thing has simply AWESOME sound quality. It's just the same quality as you would expect from a 30€ wired 3.5mm headset! If you are searching for a solution to the lack of 3.5mm on the G1, get this thing!
P.S.: If i won't forget about it, i'm gonna report back about batt life and range in a few days
hey the_fish,

Your headset isn't a2dp capable which is the ability to stream music via bluetooth. You will need to buy a stereo or mono a2dp headset.
ah thx a lot dkyang !
Can anyone recommend a good BT headset for the Tilt 2? I currently have a BlueAnt Z9i, but it does not work with the phone. I've used 3 different ROMs and a number of radios, and the phone has never been able to pair with the headset.
So, can someone please recommend a good replacement headset for me?
I am currently using this ROM (build 21892):
|R|6.5.5|ROM|WWE| ★ Energy "Leo" 23542/21892 |Mar 5| ★ Sense 2.5.2012 / MaxManila ★
I just need great reception, answer/hang up button on headset, and volume controls (optional).
Thanks!
I currently use an insignia model number ns-bthdp and it has been a great headset I specially like the fact that it doubles as stereo headphones

Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't look too bad. However, I am really looking for a regular (mono, one ear) headset - unless I can find a stereo model that would allow me to detach the stereo component when not in use.

The plantronics Voyager 855 will do that...it's a BT stereo headset but you can disconnect the 2nd earbud and just use it like a regular headset too. I haven't used one, but I do have another plantronics BT headset (stereo only) that pairs just fine with my TP2

Oh wow, I'll take a look at that one now.
Does anyone have any experience with the Motorola H17?
Motorola H17
After reading all of the reviews and watching tons of videos, I have decided on the Motorola H17.
I will post a review in a few weeks a put a link up here for those who are interested.
Thanks for all of your help!

Odd. I'm using the the same zAnt headset with my stock T-Mobile ROM. It works great.

I figured it was new enough to work with a new phone, but I can't even get the phone to see the headset at all.
I even paired it with my old (almost 5 years!) Motorola H3 this morning, as a temporary fix and it found the headset right away!
I've had a Jawbone ICON for a while now, it works great with the tilt 2.
Do any of your BTs have a working mute button on the device? I am surprised that almost none of the BTs on the market have a mute button. I thought the whole purpose of BT was so that you could pocket the phone and still make and take calls. But if I can't mute from the headset then it defeats the purpose for me. I am aware that many people probably never mute their phone calls. But those of us who use our devices for business purposes, mute is a requirement for conference calls.
Ive got a Nokia BH-103. Its a good headset, but i havnt used it with my TP2 yet.
Mute
The Moto H715 works with the tilt 2... You can mute the calls by pressing both Volume buttons.. I am pretty sure most headsets can mute a call, just need to see what butons need to be pressed
blackberry hs-655+, best BT headset i have used. So light you dont even know you have it on, has its own cradle that also vibrates when a phone call is coming in so if you have it in your pocket and your phone at your desk of something, you will feel the headset vibrating
A vibrating headset on my ear would likely freak me out every time it happened. LOL!
Invisio
Invisio G5. Great headseat, I have blown through many now, and this one is super comfortable, great sound quality, and the charging pack is an awesome feature.

I have a BlueAnt Z9i and it works just fine with my Tilt 2 with the stock ROM. It paired first try and activates voice command, answers and hangs up. The volume controls work fine too.
My other headset is a Plantronics 510. It is old school, but it also works just fine. Folks say this one sounds better.
The BlueAnt is more comfortable, has better noise reduction and is capable of higher earpiece volume.
The Plantronics, with the foam thingie, is better in the wind and sounds better to folks on the other end.
YMMV, FWIW, My 2 cents.

Thanks for your reply. You are the second person to tell me that they successfully paired a Z9i with the Tilt 2. I don't know what the problem is, but I am able to pair the headset with other phones, and I can pair the phone with other headsets.
I went with the Motorola H17, but the connection kept dropping so I returned it for another unit.
I'll say this, it is not a solution by any stretch of the imagination, but sometimes $0.02 counts. I have had strange behavior with my Moto S9 using the rom you outlined. The sound is often choppy and I cannot figure out why. As far as my H715 goes I have had no issues. Are you having this issue specifically with NRG roms or are the three roms you tried from different chefs and potentially using different BT drivers etc.?

Thanks for the input, it is definitely appreciated. I used the stock ROM, then the Leo Cell EVO ROM, and now the NRG ROM with the same results on each one.
It's really weird because my 5 year old headset pairs and works fine with the phone. It's just too large to wear for long periods of time (and the sound isn't great either).

Honestly, I think the oddball Widcomm bluetooth stack in the TP2 is one of it's biggest achilles heels...it doesn't seem to be able to give consistent performance across a single unit, let alone across the entire production line.
I think it's to blame for a number of issus that defy normal troubleshooting (like the one you're seeing now), as well as extremely high level of batt drain whenever you connect to/with anything via BT
Hi,
Today gone my A2DP Stereo Headset and now I need to buy something instead. I prefer something like my old Jabra bt8010 which was hanged on my ears without any clips (as is in new jabra models).
Could someone suggest me something what will be working with HTC HD2
TIA
I have the Plantronics BackBeat 903 headset, which works very well with the HD2, and will use the same micro-USB charger.

I picked one of these up when it was called the "Altec Lansing Backbeat 903."
Regardless - I can recommend it but I've found that the bluetooth connection isn't as stable/strong as with my previous phone (HTC Touch Pro) when the phone is in my pocket.
yea the signal isnt strong doesnt give me the 10m it should without breaking up. I use the senheiser px210 not cheep but sound is amaizing aptx ready bought the apt x dongle but dont need it as they sound very good work very well with audio and video no sync issues while whatching video

OI have tested many and they are all different. My favorite is the LG HBM-570. It is not A2DP, but has the best sound, and accesses the contacts to announce the caller. Since MS Voice Command doesn't seem to work --- Anybody get VC to announce the caller in the bluetooth??? ---- BlueAnt Q-1 will announce, but you have to update the headset manually, and you have to listen to an annoying phrase every time you want to voice dial.
And at last I have bought another one Jabra BT8010.
Hi
I saw several post re: listen music/video via bluetooth...but didn't find one for samsung vibrant specifically. I have 2 bluetooth headset - Motorola H505 and Samsung WEP405, both of which pairs and connects to my vibrant easily (I haven't root my phone), and i can get phone call sound but I can't listen to music or get sounds while watching video via bluetooth, sound just comes out from speaker. I checked bluetooth setting --> option --> shows check mark next to "connect" and "phone audio" but as I read several places, I don't see option for "Media audio".
Can someone help to resolve this issue...if I can get around this with my exisiting two bluetooth headset or i need to get any specific bluetooth which is compatible with this function ?
Thank you.
Motorola H505 and Samsung WEP405
are not bluetooth stereo headphones, you can not use this stream media audio, you can only use these for phone audio
The phone knows it is not a BT stereo headphone, this is the reason why it is not giving you the media audio option.

Thanks for your input, though would you please tell me what are my other option (bluetooth models) that would work for above mentioned function.
You need a bluetooth headset that has the a2dp profile on it in order to stream media.
I've read somewhere that the motorokr s9 headset is really good.
I'm also out shopping for a BT earpiece that I can listen to music omw to work.
Here's the list I currently have in mind:
Plantronics Voyager 855 Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Polaroid Pbt325Blk Bt325 Stereo Bluetooth® Headset
Samsung Modus 3500 Mono & Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Jabra BT8010
BlueAnt Q2
BlueAnt T1
Jawbone ERA
I'm kinda leaning towards the BlueAnt Q2 or the Jawbone ERA that just came out.

I did go ahead and looked at those bluetooth headsets.
Neither of them seem to support the profile that you need in order to stream media. Make sure that when you are looking for bluetooth products the profile description says "A2DP".

I have the original Motorola S9's, and they are pretty good. The S9 HD's (just the newer version) are supposedly a bit easier on the ears than the originals. They're worth up to ~$60 imo. So if you can get them for around that or less, that's a good buy.
I have a Sony MW600. You can get it for about $50 and rather than a clip-on, it's just a little module that you can plug regular headphones into. It has a decent microphone and the sound quality is excellent.

Try this application from market....called "super bluetooth mono froyo"....you will find it in first 10-20 search results. Then follow the instruction...very easy....which enabled my existing bluetooth samsung wep450...which works fine with all audio (including media and video) - haven't tried my motorola bluetooth yet.
Hi,
Since Flyer can be rooted already and that phone call can finally be made, I have some questions with regards to bluetooth headsets for those who have used it already
1. How long can the Flyer last with bluetooth on always so that it can be ready to be paired with the headset?
2. Is there any app that can be downloaded such that it can automatically on the bluetooth on the flyer when a call is received?
3. Has anyone tried any a2dp bluetooth headsets that are compatible with HTC flyer?
I saw a samsung hm3700 bluetooth headset which allows interchange of mono and stereo earpiece and wondering if it is supported by htc flyer.
Thanks!!
3. I use a pair of Sony DR-bt101 headphones. A2dp with a built in mic. Works with Skype, so should work with whatever other dialer you are using.
Battery life will vary from device to device based on what apps are in the background and overall use. In my case, listening to Pandora over the aforementioned headphones with screen off and bt and wifi on, I get on average 5-6 hours continuous streaming before I need to recharge. Not the best example, but closest I have.
My Samsung hm3500 works with it. I haven't used them in phone call yet, but I would assume they will be just fine. They are a2dp with the stereo ear buds. I used them the other day listening to music while I built a bed. The headset ran out of juice at about five hours and my view had around half it's battery still left. I plugged in a regular set of ear phones and finished out the day with my battery still in the green.
wow cool that seems promising thanks alot!!
Just wanna share
I found this app called automatic Bluetooth toggle it can be configured to on the Bluetooth when a call is made and off the Bluetooth when the call end, tried and tested it and it works!
Sent from my HTC Flyer P510e
recently just bought the sony MW600 headset.. It work great with my HTC flyer and iphone. I can pair the 2 devices and can switch between them . cool...
Thought to share it here.

I can confirm that the HM3700 works fine with the Flyer.
I've not been successful using it as a mic but it can be used to listen to media at this point in time.
I just received a pair of Motorola S805 Headphones. The Flyer paired fine and works well for making and receiving calls, but for some reason the A2DP profile doesn't seem to be working. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the Flyer or the headphones, but I use A2DP from my Flyer with my Xcarlink to play audio through my car stereo no problem. I'll let you know if I manage to resolve this.
I had a bit of progress with a wired headset. I loaded the voipcheap application was able to make a call with both channels working.
Next step will be to try that with BT

Does that not suggest that there is an issue with A2DP on your headset?
I have these JayBird Freedoms and they are pretty dope. I've used them on Skpe , on my SpeakToIt Assistant app, the built in Android speech commands as well as listen to music and watch videos.
They sound great; plenty loud and definitely clear and the mic works awesome given that the mic is on the ear bud itself
I , personally, don't like carrying around bulky headphones. I walk around the office with these blasting music and dont feel weird LOL

Well I tried a Voip call today with BT.
Call rings but as soon as the call is answered sound drops.
BT works perfectly watching movies or listening to music.
I'm not sure how some people say it works in a call because even HTC confirm this is a known problem?
Can anybody explain?
plz suggest me low priced working stereo Bluetooth headset for htc flyer
the headsets mentioned above are very pricey suggest me some low cost stereo headsets for htc flyer for receiving calls, i installed cool honey 3d
