Hello N7105 owners,
DISCLAIMER:
By reading this post, downloading any of the links, or acting on it in anyway you accept full responsibility for the outcome. I strongly suggest you do not download this ROM but that's just my opinion.
What this is:
This is EE's (UK operator)(formally Orange & T-Mobile) stock ROM for the GT-N7105 or Galaxy Note 2 LTE International - N7105XXXALIJ
Stock Kernel
Rooted
Busybox
Fully deodexed
Zip aligned
Some bloatware removed. (Light version)
What you would need:
Custom recovery (CWM) <-- See other threads for the how-to I might post a link later.
What you would do:
Download .zip
While waiting... it's big (sorry) ... do a nandroid <-- Google it.
Put .zip onto external SD Card (internal would be fine too but I think if you full wiped it'd get deleted and your panties would twist)
Flash .zip
Wait... remember it's big (sorry)
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Reboot
Enjoy
What else you would want to do:
Flash a different Kernel - there's only one floating around for now.
Use a storage data swap - two options
Use performance scripts, see around there are lots and they'll work best with a different kernel with init.d support - there is a thread with an how-to for getting support with any kernel/ROM and I tried it but failed. I didn't try hard.
Wipe Data - this shouldn't be necessary as your phone will already be on a stock ROM.
What I would like you to do:
Make themes and I'll link them in post 2
Tell me what default apps you want back or what taken away.
Post links to other stock ROMs you'd like made more convenient (that's all this is btw because it's no different than rooting etc yourself after the fact).
Talk about N7105 development - we all want proper Dev support and built from source roms.
What I don't want you to do:
Expect anything from me.
Flash this thinking it's something special, or that I'm a dev, or think that this is counts as actual development.

I'll update this - but in order of significance:

Who's going to defy the OP's advice and flash the ROM?
+1 for first de-bloated n7105 rom
I am going to flash this once I get my note 2.
I almost want to flash in spite of OP....lol

Tbh until there's been some discussion about what should be in and what should be out the light version is not recommended. There's literally too many apps and too many Samsung goodies to know whats right to remove.
The once we agree on the best minimum apps for a base, I'll just use that for updates and the other apps can come in a range flashable packages.
For now the recommended way to debloat is just use titanium backup.

Those few who have downloaded the Light version, how is it? Did it boot? I remove anything that needs putting back in? Is there anything still there you would consider bloat?
Is the bloated version deodexed, zip aligned etc?
Yes. The only difference is a number of system apps are removed in the light version.

Great, trying it now. I want to see if the Multiwindow mod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953705) will work with this. If so it would be great to start having it cooked into later roms. Will feedback later.
Will cirtainly try it but my phone is acting up. It refuces to use 4g, it goes like a jojo between e/g/3g/h and thats when its connected. Most of the dsy its out of service so need to return it.

But the newest EE version I have found.

Has to be deodex / custom ROMs, right?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1961314
Support 7105 rom
Should have ALJ4 uploaded tomorrow.
Edit:
Dang the re branding broke s note. Can't fix until tomorrow. Probably just need to push a different s note app (has someone optimised that awful app yet?)
It's uploading anyway if it doesn't fail I'll post link but flashing it without at least removing the s note app will result in infinite FCs. It's otherwise untested.

Tried to run this, but I can't even get into it. As soon as the phone boots, I get phone force-closing over and over, ad infinitum. I can do nothing else but hit OK on the FC message, and another one immediately pops up.
I'll take a look at phone fc when I get home. A logcat would help much, because it is working for gsm devices.

Update: Werp. After giving it a little while to "recover" from being a fresh install, it seems to have greatly sped itself up. Faster than 4.1, it seems to me. Could just be butt dyno, but 4.2 really does feel snappier.

Did you enable traces, force gpu rendering or disable HW overlays in the developer options?
It seems developer options are hidden in 4.2. Where'd they go?
Seeing a few new features like daydream and zooming in on the homescreen and within apps as well. Any news of a 4.2 compatible kernel?

If Paul can add this to the toolkit, there is no need to modify the APK and we can keep the play store version installed.

It takes me two minutes to remove the root and custom rom check (as well as the other things that they check before allowing end user to use the app)
Sure he could do that, but he would have to update his code everytime the app is updated as well. (Package names change, app dev "attempting" to preform checks other ways therefore changing the code and so forth are many reasons I wouldnt think he would bother)
If you have a precaution about running an app that someone (in this case me) has modified (for any reason ) and you want to use the original application you know u can "hide root" with many third party apps, and its even possible with supersu. This way would allow you to use un altered app.
To recap, I have no problem with any additional solutions to reach the same end result. There are many ways to get the same result.
Cheers

4.3 broke a lot of apps...
That said, from a clean reboot ( simply for less cluter) run a logcat and launch app grab the failure and send it to me.
Edit:
After some quick googling thats not an app or os problem but something on "thier" side of things.
Google " error code AR/1001" and you'll find what I found .

EDIT: Which version of TWRP are you using? 2.8.5.0 is the latest: http://www.techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/v2wifixx
I was updating everything on the tab to try this, my friend and I are both having issues flashing TWRP 2.8.5. The latest version on twrp website that works is 2.8.0.
I tried downloading V2 but mediafire would not let me.
OMG thank you! Finally! I didn't think we were going to ever have a stock, de-odexed rom for our device. Thank You!
Hmm, I could upload it somewhere else. Did it give a specific reason for not allowing the download? I'll check once I get back home.

Let's see if I can actually get a working version out there
That hyperdrive rom that is in the note pro 12.2 forum, runs great on our tab pro 12.2 the only thing that doesn't work is rotation, and vibrate. Vibrate can be fixed by flashing our boot.img, but rotation stays broken. If sbreen would give permission, it would be the most popular rom in this forum if it could be ported to our device. It's the best rom I have ever installed on any device. And thank you so much for your efforts. Seems like no developers bought the tab pro 12.2!

Fair warning -- my debloat script might have taken out the keyboard, so you might find yourself without one if this installs and boots for you. On the up side, the rom I built for the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 using the same method installed, booted, and appears to be running pretty well -- just without a keyboard at the moment.
If you downloaded the zip and want to try the install before I get a new one uploaded you can always throw whatever keyboard you use in the system/app folder inside the install zip.

Congrats on the 8.4 working! And thanks again for the efforts....the 12.2 is such an amazing tablet and they've been blowing them out on sales. I can't believe more people didn't buy/develop for it. My favorite keyboard is actually the stock Samsung and I've missed it since going to CM11. I installed the hackers keyboard though and it's pretty decent. Just in case anyone wants to try one.

Thanks -- I'm in the process of adding it back in, so should be a v3 soon.
I'd like to remove some of the annoying sound effects and get an advanced reboot menu in there, but that will probably take more time than I have at the moment.
I installed my 8.4 rom to test it out. It installs, boots, and seems to run fine except it can't download anything from the play store. All downloads show "downloading" indefinitely. I assume the same problem will exist in the 12.2 rom. As soon as I can track this down I'll upload a (hopefully) fully functional version. Getting closer...
I have twrp 8.4.1.1, can't install 8.5.0.0 don't know why but never work for me. It get stock on Samsung tab pro screen, have to reinstall 8.4.1.1 and it boots like charm.
I'm using the NK1 stock FW rooted and debloated manually. Just need some tweaks, kernel tweaks will be awesome.

it was v.2
Intro:
I tried using MIUI a lot of time before and always found it so full of apps.
So I searched around xda and compiled a list with packages to remove, which I consider was great because it was a fast and easy way to clean my device.
In the end I thought of sharing it with you, because why not? (xda is all about mods and sharing them right?)
Without further ado:
Instructions:
1) Download the file attached to this post and open it with any text viewer, I recommend notepad++.
2) Open a cmd or powershell window,
3) Run
adb shell (or .\adb shell if powershell)
su (optional depending if you have root)
4) Copy and paste the whole list into the open adb window.
P.S. AND WARNING:
You should really check what you're getting rid of, I suggest Googling every package you are not familiar with.
Also since this is a simple text file you can delete or add packages to adjust to your personal needs, I'm just dropping this as a personal template to make it easy and fast for you to debloat your device.
This is made with the Xiaomi Mi 8 in mind running MIUI, but can work on other brands and devices.
If a packeage trying to uninstall isn't there it'll just skip it and move on, so it's safe to use on any device, just not as effective.
(also of course like with any mod I won't be held responsible for any damage or misfunction that occurs, you're doing this on your own will and your own risk.)
With that being said, cheers, enjoy!
The instructions are inside the text file as well for offline usage.

Glad to see that my work (among the work of others bloat-listing volunteers) is useful mate! :highfive:
The devices we own must be kept clean (and custom ROMs and GSIes help a lot here luckily) so let's keep us updated about new bloats

This is awesome but does it break OTAs?

No, OTA works and the uninstalled Apps are not there again after update
V2 is out!
Made some cleaning:
-double checked what is needed and what is not
-removed duplicate lines
-sorted alphabetically for convenience
Enjoy.

Other than the fact that you'll lose mi clouds functionality, it should be possible and most likely safe.

I can say the same you said . Every rom/ custom rom should have only basic apps like telephone , messages , camera , settings , and one or two apps more . Others one user should install what he needs .
is it safe to delete all of the things in the list?
LITE Vesion available.
A friend of mine suggested some of the features that got removed could be useful (for some that is) and asked me to make a lite version of the tweak, so yeah, I made one for him and I'm posting it here as well.
Enjoy.
