I don't think you can do that because you're downgrading from vrall4 to vraljb. I think that once you update to vrall4 you can't go back to vraljb

Solution 1: Update the firmware with KIES ans you will have your phone unrooted.
Solution 2: Use the "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization" in the "Tools" of your Samsung KIES and you will have the newest firmware and with everything reset
Are you on a stock or a custom Rom?

Just flash a stock rom with mobile Odin or Odin. You'll lose your root though.

In the future please search for an answer before asking. This gets asked all the time.
Now to answer you question rooting and unlocking to flush a custom ROM is the easiest way. You can do it without, but you have to mod every app that you want yourself

Yes also it's important to tell us the build number (or at least last digits) because we have two official builds and both are 4.1.1

its ll4
it says ll4
its super simple to root it and flash and I think thats your best bet for having all your apps multiwindow'ed. I had my doubts (only rooted once before and had a tricky process) but its really simple this time around. Just DL some files click a few buttons and your done in under 5 mins. I'm too lazy to find links and whatnot but if you are genuinely interested I can at least send you some stuff on how to root your phone.
Just follow this guide to root unlock and flash a ROM. It's the best walk through around

Now that I will be rooting my GN2, I was just wondering if there is something that will unroot it. This is just in case, God forbid, something BAD should happen! Now it needs to be going back to 4.1.2, thanks again in advance, this forum really does help me, YOU GUYS ROCK!!

I notice that this is to go back to 4.1.1....will this work for my 4.1.2? Maybe it will put me back to 4.1.1 and then I could just update it again to 4.1.2! :fingers-crossed:

yes he is always here to lend a hand. also if and when there is a updated odin image available I will update the guide...for now all we have is 4.1.1 to fall back on.
I'm happy not running a custom rom right now and just using faux kernel. When the 4.3 update becomes official will I be able to just flash an image and run like I am currently?

You could, but I don't recommend it. For one, we don't know when or even if the Odin image for the update will even be released. But if it does, it's gonna re-lock your bootloader (since you're running a custom kernel, I am assuming it is unlocked), and your phone may not be able to be re-unlocked again.
Once the update is out I'd wait until the devs get a hold of it and update the custom roms. With the new Samsung KNOX included in the update I'd say it might be a little bit of time before the roms are updated, but they will be.

Sounds good... Must not relock lol.

I am currently on 4.2.2 MDK rooted. I haven't done much except flash AIO Mods for odexed and freeze OTA, and delete TalkBack, GoogleTTS, and SamsungTTS. Someone told me that I can't upgrade due to being rooted. So my question is, how do I update without losing my data? Im willing to give up root too. Make sure that it's noob-friendly too, gingerbread for the X-Play was a lot easier. Thanks in advanced!
Your best bet is to Odin back to stock MDK.
