Hi everyone!
I just tried out Android 4.2 swype feature and I think it is really cool. Although, my mother language is not English, so I downloaded a Hungarian dictionary to my device. So far so good... But unfortunately, swype is not working for my language, although it works for English.
Also, it suggests words to correct my badly typed words, but it doesn't auto correct them.
I have set everything in the Language & input to make this work in Hungarian, but unfortunately no luck so far.
Anyone knows what could be the problem, and how can it be solved?
Thank you so much in advance.
Pull the latinime.apk from the cm10.1 version for your device and replace it with the apk that is already on your device in system/apps! Don't forget to fix permissions and make a backup of it with titanium backup. Works for me!

Hi, im pretty new to this, I just got the samsung galaxy SII phone yesterday and tried looking in the forums but couldnt find it.
I notice that my phone language is in English but the system is in Chinese(phone is prob from china?), like for example the time on the top right corner would say 12:20pm (the pm would be in chinese while everything else is in english)

Thanks for the reply, the settings are set to english there, but it still shows chinese on the actual system. Like the icons would be in english but certain things will be in chinese for example the pm for time
I'm wondering about this as well. I flashed the XX firmware but when I do a factory reset I get polish as the installed language.
I have MiniCM7-2.1.8 on my X10 mini pro, and now I am stuck finding the correct way to enable the QWERTZ keyboard layout for the Standard and Android input method including the special German characters.
slade87's thread gives some (although quite confusing) info, but the files for download are not working any more, because they are based on the old update-script-style not supported by CWM any more.
It should not be that hard to perform such an important localization, most solutions only manipulate the keyprint.xml, but that's not enough.
So can someone please explain how to get fully localized QWERTZ keyboards for the German language up and running?

Use the application mini rom manager ... Search in xda..

Ok, switched to QWERTZ using ROM Manager, but as I already knew, this only switched it for the Standard Input, but not the Android Input.
I have seen in slade87's thread, what has to be done, to switch the Android Input, but I don't know how, since the downloads in slade87's thread do not work any more with recent CWM, and I really do not want to fiddle around in the ROM manually.
Any suggestions, or do just have to forget about the Android Input?
I´m going to "fix" my dad´s phone tomorrow so stand by until then..

If you are from hk or tw, here you are. Put in /system/app/ and give permission rw-r-r.

Hi,
In my original ROM, my samsung keyboard is able to do
Typing input for both English and Chinese
handwriting input for both Chines and English.
But when i installed a custom rom, the chinese input was gone.
Can I copy the apk and the library files and used in the custom ROM (HyperLight v1.0 ROM)?
If able to, what are the files to copy?

Hello,
I have nowhere found an answear, that's why I'm asking You.
I'm on CM10.1 by mikeioannina, and have only one small issue.
I can't download and install other than english add-on dictionaries to AOSP keyboard. English is working perfectly. I've read on some forums that it is needed to go into add-on dictionaries, click refresh and more languages appear (for me polish apears), but when I try to install it, it just dissappears. I tried clearing data of dictionary provider apk, stopping the proccess, all that I found in google and xda.
So, any of You guys, have a clue how to do it? Maybe it's possible to manually push some files?
Please, help!!! That gesture typing in this keyboard is awesome. I don't want to use swiftkey or swype, as they are thrice as laggy as stock aosp keyboard.
Any help would be higly appreciated, cheers !
bump !!

it's a known issue (you can check the bug tarcker for mike's rom and kernel in github)
it will be fixed in upcoming builds
https://www.xda-developers.com/gboa...e-translate-access-and-improved-rtl-features/
I installed this last update (same version and file) and for some reason the gif suggestions works on my Nexus 9 but not on my N6P.
Can anybody suggest a solution?
Thank you!
EDIT :
Got it working: even if the system is set in English and the Gboard is set English+another language, the language switch key has to be set in English otherwise it won't show gif suggestions but only word suggestions even if they are in English, quite weird......
