Hi there.
I am currently looking for some bluetooth headphones (not a single headset) to use with my HD. Anybody have any advice and/or experience?
Thanks!
(I'm in the UK, so ideally from UK shops!)
I did find these. No idea what they are like though:

Anybody...?
Hi,
I have been using HBH-DS980 with polaris and now with HD. Sound quality is better comapred to polaris (comparison without tweaking bt settings). Adressbook and call history works also you can see the number/name of the caller.
Music quality is quite good. AVRC is working as expected. The volume keys do not change system volume for music but I noticed that when in call, if you adjust volume from this device, phone volume is also updated.
Hope this helps.
try....
the stereo headphone, handsfree - motorola S9 - was 29 quid - i ordered then before 11am, had them by 11am next day....

I am also looking forward to buy the HBH-IS800! Some user reviews would be nice. But wont these BT earphones be available until the beginning of december?

Heres one review I found, though not user
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/11/07/review_bluetooth_headphones_sony_ericsson_hbh_is800/
I bought some HBH-IS800 bluetooth earphones.
I haven't used them extensively yet, but one thing's for sure - they are just as dinky and slick as you expect them to be
Sound seems okay - not as good as the wired in-ear Sony ones (MR71 I think) I have been using, but easily good enough for commuting, gym etc.
Can't comment on battery life yet, but paitring is easy, and they are comfortable in the ear, despite being slightly larger than the wired type.
All in all, you could prolly get much better phones for the money (I paid £78 from mobilefun.co.uk), but for convenience, discretion and sheer smugness they're worth it in my book.
Cheers
Pete
my headsets
I use
Motorola H700 as headset and
Motorola S9 as headphone
both work fine with my HD. But I can't compare them as I only own this two parts. But I use them for almost one year and I'm very satisfied.
Best regards Wolf_munich
The HBH-IS800 surely look great. Exactly what I've been waiting for. BUT 4 hours of use is just too short...
I use this one, the sound is good
Motorola S805
Hi there
i have used two different stereo headsets with my athena- both generally crap.
Both of mine were the caller id type with controls.
1. sony HBH-DS970 crap sound- decent BT connection- voice quality (ie volume) ok after reg hack- caller id unable to display name, shows numbers only- track id cant show name- audio not loud enough, never found hack for this- ****e in ear buds- special sony charger- in ear padding falls off and gets lost for ever
2 decided I wanted to be able to use my B&O earphones so I got a ax bluestream from tritton- your own headphones plug in to the clip on BT unit- audio quality good but still too quiet- controls not intuitive- OLED- BT interference in calls is high when walking away from the phone- buggy software- no caller name or song name, just phone number. Better than the sony unit- mini usb charging
Overall my biggest problem was the lack of volume- managed to reg hack the outgoing and incoming phone audio but not the music level.
Overall i prefered the tritton option as i could use my own headphones with the buit in mic- cost more than the sony though
Battery life on the sony required me to carry the charger everwhere- especially given that the atena doesn't support calls without a headset
Hi,
Just the topic I was looking for.
I have finally come down to 3 choices:
1. Sony HBH DS200
2. Motorola S9 - Stylish. Not sure on quality
3. Sony DR-BT21G - Looks stylish as well. But crosses 40 bucks. But can purchase if there is significant difference
someone, pls compare these if possible keeping in mind the price and quality...
I was looking to purchase one for 30 quids
someone pls help me decide..
I am looking for a bluetooth headset which will allow me to listen to music on my Touch HD in the car (podcasts) but also allow me to take calls if need be without swapping headsets.
I have looked at the 3 above and none seem to do that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
The S9s should, I suppose it depends what profiles your car setup supports.
I use my S9s to listen to music vids on my laptop and I can take/make calls via my HD using the buttons on the headset.
Set the partnership on the HD to "hands free" and laptop services to "audio sink".
Be aware that the telephony audio is from one channel only. The left ear.
edit: Sorry, I misread your post.
However, the S9s will allow you to do what you ask. When listening to audio an incommimg call will pause the audio and switch to hands free telephony.
Here is the .pdf manual.

To all the HBH IS800 owner, please can you read my post and give me a feed back before it will be too late to return it to Expansys?
THX SO MUCH!
i use jabra 620s, i used it with my ipaq 210 , however, i sold 210 to get some money for my HD. and jabra 620s is only about 50 usd, but i compared with my UE fi 4, UE fi 4 actully is not that much better than my jabra 620s with HD~ so, 50 usd jabra 620s is a not bad choice goes with HD. the vol adjust, forward, and back, answer button, start/pouse button all work with HD~

Hi there,
Can someone recommend my a good BT stereo headset to use with my TP2?
Ideally I'd like one where I can use my own headphones and have control over the media player.
Nice to haves would be Caller ID and /or track information display.
Thanks,
Richard
I got one of these.

Does the job well and looks good. cheap enough that i can wear whilst mountain biking and have my phone tucked safely in my bag.

It works great! But again... Audio-Booster is not working with this bluetooth headset...
And "volume control" is not working op the TP2... you can however control on the headset... [email protected] gives a notification of this also when connecting to the backbeat.
Oh! and by the way! you can multi-pair this headset to more than one device. What I have done: pair the stereo part to my TP2 and the phone part to my Ipaq914c for calling (business). When a cal comes in the music pauses and you can call and when he call is ended the music starts playing... NICE!

if you want to use your own headphones I would recommend the JABRA BT3030 if you want some quality...the sound is also good for a bluetooth headset...
if you're thinking of buying the sony ericsson HBH-DS980 because of the caller ID function, DONT, because this function will only work on the Sony phones...
ive got these.

play music, whene the phone rings just pick up, music will mute.
worked with my universal, does it fine on my pro2
OK. I bought the Jabra one in the end.
Works pretty well except that it only controls the builtin media player and not S2P.

I using set of BlueAnt X5.. No Problems.. Unfortunately it looks like they don't make them any more..

My friend Vardig, plz review the product before spending you hard money for it. It was real great experience to get something new but neva be hasty to buy something which you couldn't give a real-time experience like a demo hanging in the mall. Go through the following link before investing into this product..peace -->

Hi GillBostonian,
Thanks for the link.
The product is actually really good. I dont get the "it's hurting my ears" , "it's matt black" etc.
The JB-200 is an awsome product and is geared towards extreme sports people and at the gym.
Love it, however my taste in music requires BASS, and this is something it does not have, therefore I gave them away .
There was bass but not enough for my likeing.
I will be getting the Jabra Halo and see how they work and will report back
hi all,
i've just paired a sony DR-BT20NX wireless headset to my tp2 and i must say i'm quite please with the results.
When paired, the device does say that it will not support volume control, which it doesn't but it has it's own volume control which you can easily use to adjust the volume to your needs.
Also, when music is playing and you receive a call, it mutes the music and rings! you can then pick up, talk and hang up; the music resume as soon as the call is disconnected.
You also get the remote control features to fully work with it e.g play stop ff rev etc.
The quality of sound, especially bass, is pretty impressive i must say.
Anybody else who'se used it?
So far, I must say I'm quite happy with it - though only down side, it's slightly pricey? it's around for £55-70
Comments/suggestions welcome.

I bought the Motorola S9's two years ago and hated them... they had compatibility problems with my phone and desktop (skipping constantly)... but when I paired them with my TP2, they worked flawlessly... definitely recommended for this phone.

Yes, +1. I have the original S9 and the the new S9-HD and they are great, I use them all the time.
Look on Ebay and you can find the original S9's for $35 new delivered!! The only big difference between the the new and old version is while in a call, the old S9 only plays the call in to the left ear. The HD plays it back in both. Pretty much the same other than that.

Hello
I'm thinking about buying bluetooth headphones for my Touch Pro 2. So far the only one bluetooth audio device which i used was BH104 from Nokia but it wasn't for listening to music but for talking - so the quality of sound was very bad.
I would like to don't have a cable connected to rhodium in my pocket - so bluetooth headphones could be good for me. For example this one : http://www.jabra.com/Sites/Mobile/ee-uk/Products/Pages/JabraBT3030.aspx Anyone used this or other similar headphones with rhodium, blackstone or similar device? I would like to know something about sound quality. Is it better or the same like from Creative EP630 which i use now? What about battery usage with bluetooth headphones?
Any opinion would be good for me, so please post
Thanks
Nobody know?
I don't have any experience with the headphones you mentioned, but I have the Moto S9 HD's and they're pretty great.
I use the jabra bt3030. it's okay, but due to the design, has no noise cancellation and picks up wind and background noise during a call.
Note, the bt3030 are not really headphones, but a small dog-tag looking adapter for any 3.5mm headphones you like. the included chain is too long for comfortable use and the detachable clip is a bit flimsy. i use them primarily with retractable cable over the ear headphones from sony to listen to music and generally just have the bt3030 dangling from the headpones at whatever length is comfy. sound is good, using with video can be a bit much if you're watching divx or similar heavy codecs.
Firstly, thanks for info's. Yes, i know that i can connect every headphones to bt3030. I have headphones to connect, all i want is the wireless listening to the music. So if the bluetooth connection is good, then sound quality will be good too. I just wanted to know about dog-tag. How about bass level with it?

I use sony hbh ds 980 stereo bluetooth headphones and they work great. you wear a necklace which has two ear buds on a wire. on the controller you can see who is calling, scroll through contacts, call history and use voice command. as far as music there is a volume rocker, track forward and back, play/pause. Music comes through loud and clear as does calls. I never had any complaints as far as people hearing me either. the batterey lasts a full day of heavy usage. Let me know if you have any questions.
I use the Sony HBH-DS970 and it's AWESOME! I've had it for many years, used it first with my Touch Pro, now with the TP2. The battery is getting weak though, when I first got it it lasted for about 6 hours now it's about 3. When I get a new one I'm gonna get the new version (HBH-DS980). Both versions have great features: Caller ID, separate volume controls for calls & music, you can pause/play, skip (forward, & back) music & videos, The "call" button on the cord not only lets you take and end calls but it also lets you access "Voice Command" which is great. Oh, and it pauses your music when calls come in & starts it again when you're finished. These are "stereo" headsets and the sound is incredible, deep bass and all. They come with VERY soft in-ear "buds" that you won't mind wearing all day (different sizes) VERY comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this headset. The only bad thing I guess would be that it doesn't have replaceable batteries. Oh, one other thing, if you are overclocking your device make sure to disable whatever overclocking program you're using before connecting & using the headsets (that causes all kinds of issues and freezes when you're pausing & playing; among other things, not quite sure why). When you're done with the headset you can turn overclocking back on.
P.S. DO NOT buy this off of eBay! I did that to save money, they are fake, they last for about two months then fall apart. When I got the "real" one I could NOT tell them apart even though I knew which one was the "real" one, those fakes are that good. Get it from amazon or somewhere you already trust.

I have been using the
Rocketfish™ Mobile - RF-MAB2 High-Definition Stereo Bluetooth Headphones
Model: RF-MAB2 SKU: 9246862 (Best Buy USA)
for the past several months with my HTC TP2 and have really enjoyed them. Primarily for music but they are also a good phone headset as well.
life is so much better without wires. check them out & enjoy.
I use the Plantronics Backbeat 903, they work amazing for both music and call quality...I've experienced with MANY good bluetooth headsets, they ALL at times fail with in call quality...from motorola, jawbone, plantronics...Ive never purchased the cheap sets, and regardless, theyre bound at some point to have an occasional call where the other party mentions some sort of weirdness to the call quality...the Backbeats have had very few instances of this...they're "considered" multipoint as they can be sync'd to multiple devices, but only for music, they do not have "true" multipoint, as the jawbone does, to handle calls to two phones simultaneously...regarding the music playback quality,...amazing

+1 as I'm happy with mine too. However, this question had ever existed and discussed before
Today was in the phone shop. A whole bunch of Jabra headsets are available. This made me wonder where the good headsets went.
Good headsets working with the Lumia are for example Sonyericsson HBH-DS200 series, which are stereo and bluetooth, have internal volume control on top of that on the phone, and have media player controlling options.
This made me wonder what today the better headsets are.
If anyone can help out listing headsets which work and can control the several options like mentioned above that would be welcome.
I had looked into Iphone compatible headsets, but the controlling buttons did not seem to work, at least not in the Dre-series 99 euro version I tested.
Can anyone list their experience with different headsets on the Lumia 800 which have controlling options like volume, media and call answer,
Bluetooth or Wired makes no difference in this topic
Nokia Purity Stereo Headset by Monster come in Lumia 800 matching colors and seem to have at least volume control. But they are quite expensive, in various stores around 90GBP.
today made a phonecall with lumia and htc hd2 headset. from this headset sound is horrible, but the controls all work. So this made me wonder, why don't the controls of the iphone headsets seem to work?
This seems to be a complete hardware flaw on the back of windows or apple. I have struggled with this one ever since i got my first wp7 last year. I recently received the 800 and immediately bought a headset - it did not work. I bought another on mobilefun, according to them compatible. It was not! This one was a platronics headset. My suggestion would be go to a massive Carphone Warehouse or other shop that sells headset, and try and see which ones work. I did this and bought a fantastic headset for £14.99; it was a Samsung headset. It does not have volume control but I can do everything bar next/previous song. I am sure now if I wanted to I could have spent more and had what you are looking for. My main thing I need the microphone to work. It works superbly. I received a text the other day as I was cycling along, it asked me if I wanted to listen/Delete/Ignore; I said listen, it then asked me if I wanted to Reply/Call/Ignore - I called, spoke to the client and then carried on cycling. I did not at one point take my hands of the handlebars. The music switched back on afterwards. For £14.99 - Perfect!
I hope this helps. If it does just press Thanks -
Will
I'm using Sony hbh-is800 Bluetooth wireless buds and they are great. There no volume control on the buds so you have to use the phone to adjust but that's a minor thing to deal with for the form factor these sweet things have. I also can be about 15 feet away from the phone and still have signal unlike some of those otherones where if you have your phone in the wrong pocket you drop out. I only really use these for tunes though so I have no idea about call quality and whatnot.
Does anyone have more links to compatible headsets?
I was looking at the Nokia Purity Stereo earbuds and got excited, but then saw they don't support track skipping control? I listen to a lot of music biking/walking and need both volume control, pause/start and track skipping control(at least track forward control).
There must be something out there, that doesn't force me to choose between track control or volume control..
thanks
I use the Nokia BH-111 headset - came with my Lumia 800 free as part of the phones deal.
It is a Bluetooth stereo headset which comes in a variety of colours. Has volume control and media keys, and also allows you to control calls with it.
The earphones supplied fit in my ear very well - never fall out even when running.
Quality through the supplied earphones is more than acceptable when listening to music - was good enough to stop me from buying a £20-30 pair anyway.
Noticed it currently sells for around £23 in black, which if I didn't get it for free I'd be happy to pay that.
So I was in carphonewarehouse in Ealing and found the Nokia purity on ear headset. Inline control works well. One click to play/pause, two for next track and three for prev track. Volume also works well.
But for £200 headsets they sound like crap. Just as poor as the audio by beats range (for their price). My £40 Soundmagic PL45 have better quality and volume by far. I have some Klipsch S4 on order from play.com (£22). Heard good things about the S4. Was hoping to find a good quality IEM with inline remote.
Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express

Well given that they're both made by Monster...
ordered a mw600 today. meaning i can just buy any headphones i like
Anyone found a fully compatible in-ear headset? I really need a working in ear headset but don't know which one to choose. I don't want to try them and send them back if they don't work...
the provided in ear phone in the box works, and has one button.
a htc as provided with hd2 headset works, and has up, down, answer buttons
These work brilliantly with my Lumia 800 and HD2 running G/Bread, play/pause/skip and volume. Only downside is they're not in-ear. Bass range is quite good for such a low price.
I would suggest Sony Ericsson MW600 (Bluetooth)
I am using Sony Ericsson MW600 with my HD7, but I use it with my Sony in-ear headphones (Hybrid silicone rubber earbuds, angled earbud structure)
- because supplied headphones were worst.
It supports Call/Play/Pause/Next/Prevous/Voice Commands with my HD7.
It also has independent Volume control. Supports simultaneous multiple device pairing (1 for music source, 1 for voice calls)
Inbuilt FM radio is also there but I dont use it because of poor reception.
As Lumia 800 is windows phone, it should work with it as well.
Call/Music both quality very good. Battery life also good.
Think you should give it a try..

Confused
Have been using the cx300II senheisers..had been using them with the lg optimus 7 and loved the music..but using them with the lumia made the music feel like i was under water..
i started using the jvc marshmallows i had..the quality wasnt unbearable but it just feels incomplete..like its missing something..have been wondering which pair of earphones to get and loved the monster purity until i saw the pricetag..compatible earphones with good sound quality at half the price..anyone? please?
They were samsung ones - sorry, I don't have any other info..... Go to carphone warehouse...?

I've just switched to this phone after loosing my iPhone and i am very disappointed that nokia hasn't sorted out headset compatibility, and only their horrible pure headsets are compatible.
I have a pair of AIAIAI TMA-1 dj headphones which work brilliantly as a mic source on blackberry, iPhone and Android, but do not on this nokia. I think we should push for nokia to sort out their headphone compatibility - It's most likely a software issue, since the middle button works for popping up the voice recognition software, but the mic doesn't work, nor the volume up/down buttons.
-1 for nokia for not supporting a quasi-standard headphones and headsets.
anybody knows if nokia BH-111 is compatible with 800?
music controls works to forward rewind play pause songs?
I'm having a problem hearing music using ear Buds / headphones and was wondering if anyone else was having this issue on titan. The sound goes real dull almost like non-stereo and I have to hold where the 3.5 mm jack is and wiggle the earbuds to get a clear sound. I bought new skoal candies and tried 3 other pairs so I'm guessing its my phone but was curious if anyone else was having this issue.
Thx
from Titan on XDA Windows Phone 7 App
ear buds and the like
It might just be your 3.5 mm connection...I tried mine out just now (I had not added music to my Titan previously) and plugged in and was very very pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. I had surmised for myself that my PDA was for phone and calendar etc, and the iPod or other MP3/4 player for audio - mostly for quality of sound. I won't make that mistake again. The Titan is good - very good.

Hm, I think it has something to do with bluetooth stereo vs headset profile. Weird that it happens with regular ear buds.

I think its defective, I'm going to call ATT tomorrow and have it replaced because I have to hold where the earbuds fit into the 3.5 connecter and put a little bit of pressure to get the sound to come thru. I'm glad to hear no one else is having an issue so thats good
I'm having issues too.
I had problems with my audio jack too. I was looking on here to see if anyone else had issues. At first, I thought that I had a failing headset but then I put another one in and after awhile it started doing the same thing. It's not right away but it seems to start up after a bit. It's really concerning me though. I'm considering getting a replacement and hope this is just a minor issue that affects a few units. I don't want to wait and have it develop into a bigger issue. It frustrates me though, because I had originally bought a focus s and the hands free button didn't work right. It seemed like an issue with the way it registered button presses. Now, I get this phone and the button works right but I'm having these audio issues. Argghh.
I don't have a problem with any earbuds , every one i tried works for me. It might just be your phone itself. maybe deffective? If i was you i would try regular ipod headphones or a friends to see if that really is the problem
hi all, question about the volume sensitivity on the titan. i used to have an iphone 3gs then switched to the skyrocket to try out android but i'm really unhappy with the android music players so i'm either going to trade it in for the iphone 4s or the htc titan (still within the 30 day period).
on my iphone i could set the max volume to wherever i wanted and would have plenty of intermediate volumes to get the level right where i want it.
however, with the skyrocket by the time i hit the 3rd volume level (0=mute, 1= up volume button pressed once) the volume physically hurts my ears and i like loud music.
i'm using the stock headphones that came with my iphone 3gs because i like the fit and the in-line remote. i know these have low resistance but still, only having 2 usable volume settings is ridiculously annoying because i can only listen to music really softly or a bit louder than where i want it to be.
how do you guys feel the volume sensitivity is on the titan? are there more than 2-3 acceptable volume levels for low-resistance (small earbud) headphones? thanks!
i use the included earbuds and the 30 level volume settings seem to fit most situations
Replace it since you're within the 30 days. I got a new one and the issue is cleared up, I had a defective unit. Very happy with it now
